Chapter 437: Chapter 437: Saint

The atmosphere in the command center at the rear of the United Legion was tense but not panicked.

Essentially, they just lost some slave creatures, and the deployment of apostle-level awakeners by the enemy was anticipated—it just happened earlier than expected.

Initially, it was believed that the Native Alliance Army could hold out for a while longer, but it seems their perseverance was underestimated by a few days.

The opposing apostle-level awakeners are constantly hesitant to make a move, knowing that high-level forces are present on the United Legion’s side as well.

Once combat at this level ensues, it will only lead to more massive casualties and may very well cause the Native Alliance Army to collapse faster.

The main cannons of two destroyer battleships, always hovering in the sky, lit up once more with destructive bluish light, locking onto their targets.

Simultaneously, three Level 3 slave creatures stationed at the rear of the Slave Creature Legion—an Obsidian Scorpion-tailed Dragon, a Lava Giant Ape, and a Blade Storm Creature—stepped into the battlefield with earth-shattering roars to meet the apostle-level powerhouses of the Native Alliance Army.

In addition, five more destroyer battleships emerged from the void in the sky, and the gun barrels of the eight battleships began to charge, the glow of death enveloping the battlefield.

Including the previously fallen destroyer battleship, there were now indeed nine destroyer battleships, equating to nine Level 3 lives.

This was just the forces in the Northeast Sobbing Blood Plain of Buren Continent within the Devourer Plane, while in other areas of the Devourer Plane, a large number of United Legion forces were distributed.

From the sky, the main cannons of the destroyer battleships fired in unison, tearing through the sky with bluish light beams.

The six apostle-level awakeners below seemed to have some understanding of the destroyer battleships, not underestimating these seemingly cold war machines at all.

Thunder and lightning coalesced into a giant shield, massive rock layers rose from the ground forming high walls...

The six apostles utilized various methods to withstand this round of shooting, providing mutual assistance along the way.

Under the joint defense of the six Level 3 lives, the destroyer battleships’ attack didn’t have too great an effect.

However, the destroyer battleships’ attack was not limited to a single round.

Eight battleships, like cold killing machines, intermittently fired their main cannons, while the auxiliary cannons persistently harassed and suppressed.

Simultaneously, the three Level 3 slave creatures roared as they joined the battle, each confronting an apostle.

The skirmish of high-end forces erupted completely, as both the sky and the earth became their battlefield.

The Thunder Apostle seized an opportunity, transforming into lightning, suddenly striking below one destroyer battleship, and delivered a thunderous punch with all its might to its belly shield, which flashed violently, causing the ship to tremble, revealing a weak spot.

Another apostle down below had an instant understanding, braving a hit from the Lava Giant Ape to fully control the earth, countless massive rock spikes surged into the sky, accurately penetrating into the ship through the weak spot.

With a huge explosion, the ship experienced a chain reaction inside, tilting with smoke and crashing to the ground.

Elsewhere, the battle between the apostles and Level 3 slave creatures continued.

Compared to the pressure exerted by the destroyer battleships overhead, these Level 3 slave creatures didn’t pose too much pressure on the apostles.

The red-haired woman who wielded fire, her flames slowly burned through the armor defense of the Obsidian Scorpion-tailed Dragon, eventually destroying its core, causing the massive insect dragon to howl and roll on the ground, quickly retreating from the center of the battlefield. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

The rear had commanded the Obsidian Scorpion-tailed Dragon to retreat, as Level 3 slave creatures were still of considerable value and couldn’t be easily lost.

Yet the Obsidian Scorpion-tailed Dragon couldn’t escape, as the red-haired woman and another apostle teamed up without hesitation, enduring hits from the destroyer battleship’s artillery fire to forcefully eliminate the Obsidian Scorpion-tailed Dragon.

This Level 3 slave creature, which had battled across countless planes, unfortunately became the focus target and fell here.

However, the apostles paid a considerable price as well; one was continuously struck by a destroyer battleship’s highly penetrating decomposition rays, melting away the strong flesh, ultimately causing its demise.

The apostle who killed the Obsidian Scorpion-tailed Dragon was also severely injured, and if it weren’t for others protecting her, she would have been blasted into ashes by the artillery fire long ago.

The battle continued with reinforcements from the United Legion still coming in.

Three brand new, large-sized destroyer battleships slowly sailed out from the rear, their cold barrels once more targeting the wounded apostles.

Simultaneously, a more violent, primitive roar sounded, as a Level 3 slave creature, never seen before, covered in bone spikes and possessing three heads, charged forward, leaving burning hoof prints.

Behind this slave creature, several more Level 3 slave creatures were on their way, seemingly at least a dozen of them.

Apostles from the Native Alliance Army continued evading artillery harassment while observing the opponent’s movement.

After sensing these reinforcements’ arrival, their mood grew exceedingly heavy.

They were fully aware that the opponent’s power was overwhelmingly strong, the disparity in strength between the two sides was too great, the outcome seemed predetermined.

The main cannons of the destroyer battleships were quickly recharging for the next round of shooting, which would arrive soon.

Along with that dozen Level 3 slave creatures joining the battlefield, carrying unmatched momentum in their advance.

And the apostle-level forces of the Native Alliance Army were already entirely on the battlefield, spent enormously with injuries.

At this critical moment, an indescribable, awe-inspiring pressure, surpassing the combined might of all previous apostle levels, descended upon the Sobbing Blood Plain as if an ancient god awoke.

Time seemed to freeze, space shivered.

All those lower than Level 3, whether legion soldiers or legion slave creatures, instinctively felt an awe and fear from the depth of their souls, almost in a posture of kneeling.

In the skies above the rear of the Native Alliance Army, a ray of light, neither dazzling nor infinitely profound and seemingly containing endless rules and mysteries, gradually illuminated.

Within the light, a blurry figure became clear.

He didn’t appear tall and mighty, but his very presence seemed to become the center of the world, the embodiment of rules.

Duke’s heart jumped wildly, his body instinctively felt terror—this was a danger alert from life’s instincts.

Suddenly recalling something, Dukes saw the Level 3 slave creatures at the center of the battlefield slowly retreating, making it clear that this person’s Life Level had already surpassed Level 3.

In the Devourer Plane, Level 4 awakeners are generally called Saints, extremely rare in number.

Although the Devourer Plane is a Middle Plane, its development time is not long, far from being comparable with Wizard Plane, their Level 4 powerhouses are few.
