Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree-Chapter 415: Sea Heart Iron
Leonard previously found out some information about Duke, only knowing that he is a wizard from Black Sail with the identity of a Level 1 Arcanist.
He also discovered that Duke doesn’t have much of a background, just a wizard who climbed up from the bottom, which was why he directly stopped Duke from entering earlier.
In fact, if only Vivian had entered, he wouldn’t have said a word.
However, because he believed his background and influence were stronger than Duke’s, he stopped Duke.
But it seems now that Vivian and Duke have an unusual relationship, and Leonard has no solution.
If they were really going to fight, he wasn’t afraid, but he was concerned about his sister Ella getting into trouble.
He believed he could easily defeat the two in front of him together, since Vivian is just Level 1 Gaseous, and Duke is only Level 1 Liquidation, similar to himself.
Leonard had great confidence in his own strength and didn’t think a wild card wizard like Duke could beat him.
This is probably the natural superiority that descendants of Wizard Clans feel towards ordinary wizards, always subconsciously thinking they are stronger.
After seeing the current situation, Leonard said, "Alright then, we will proceed according to wartime regulations! The mining area is so large, we’ll search together, whatever we find belongs to us, and we won’t interfere with each other!"
He thought that since he couldn’t stop them, he should try to gather all the mined ore inside, anyway his Space Ring was large enough.
Plus, with so many slave creatures around, they could move all the mined ore out.
The ore meant nothing to him; he collected it just to prevent Duke and his company from obtaining it.
"Alright." Duke agreed readily, "We will go to the left, you go to the right, whoever gets it first keeps it, no interference."
"Fine." Leonard then led his sister and a group of slave creatures into the mining area.
The slave creatures quickly scattered under Leonard’s instructions, searching for the mined ore inside, moving quickly, clearly not wanting Duke to get a single piece of ore.
Duke found this scene a bit amusing; he didn’t care about the already mined ore at all.
Compared to the content of Sea Heart Iron in the veins, this ore was insignificant.
"Let’s go deeper." Duke whispered to Vivian, his gaze aimed at the darker offshoot of the mine.
That area apparently hadn’t been mined on a large scale yet, and the rock walls still showed veins of ore faintly glowing with blue fluorescence.
"Aren’t we sending slave creatures to scavenge for ore?" Vivian asked.
Duke laughed, "No need, let them stand guard around, I have a unique way to absorb it."
When Vivian heard this about the unique way of absorption, she was curious, but seeing Duke’s mysterious look, she didn’t ask more, as she would probably find out soon.
The further they went, the fewer signs of artificial mining there were, but the luster of the raw ore containing Sea Heart Iron on the rock walls became increasingly evident.
The air was filled with a faint metallic fishy smell like sea breeze, a phenomenon unique to high-concentration Sea Heart Iron veins.
Duke and Vivian didn’t linger too long on the surface but followed a narrow, long-abandoned mine path sloping downward.
The noises of Leonard’s siblings and their slave creatures raiding were left far behind, with only the sound of water dripping in the mine echoing around, exceptionally clear.
The further they went, the damper and colder the air became, but the occasional flashes of the blue gleam of Sea Heart Iron on the rock walls grew purer and denser.
"The main vein should be further down," Duke whispered, "The upper parts are just scraps, the true essence hasn’t been mined yet."
Finally, after nearly half an hour of winding descent, they arrived at a massive subterranean chamber.
This wasn’t artificially excavated but a naturally formed giant cavern, far larger than the mining area above.
The sight before them left the two slightly breathless.
The massive cave’s walls, ceiling, and floor were covered with deep blue crystals akin to the heart of the ocean.
Unlike the mixed ores above, they formed large clusters of relatively pure crystal.
Like countless blue stars embedded in the darkness of the rock mass, they emitted a soft and vast water and metallic energy wave, casting a mysterious blue light across the underground space.
This indicated that the ore here had a very high content of Sea Heart Iron, almost no longer classifiable as ore.
"Vivian, come closer." Duke waved to Vivian.
Not knowing what Duke intended, Vivian obediently moved closer, and the two pressed tightly together, feeling each other’s warmth, which dispelled some of the cold in the mine.
Massive amounts of yellow sand soon surrounded Duke, enveloping both of them in layers, eventually forming a relatively spacious round space.
This space was much larger than before, mainly considering Vivian’s presence, so Duke intentionally made it larger to avoid her feeling too cramped inside.
A glow ball then appeared, it was Curse Magic, Lighting Technique, illuminating the scene within.
By the light of the Lighting Technique, Duke saw Vivian in front of him also looking at him, the light from the spell gleaming in both their eyes.
"Expand your Spiritual Power, let’s see how I absorb it next." Duke said softly. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Vivian immediately released her Spiritual Power, taking in the scene outside the sphere into her mind.
Beyond the sphere, a torrent of golden sand burst forth, like countless small golden dragons, rushing toward the Sea Heart Iron crystal clusters on the surrounding rock walls.
Those high-quality Sea Heart Iron crystal clusters visibly lost their luster, fading from deep blue to gray-white, as the purest metal essence inside was forcibly extracted, absorbed by the yellow sand.
As the essence of Sea Heart Iron was frantically extracted, the structure of this massive underground cavity began to become unstable.
Without the support of these high-strength magic crystal clusters, the surrounding rock layers began to groan under the weight, large cracks appeared, and debris started falling.
Duke remained unmoved, the falling stones having no impact on him, with the metallic yellow sand forming an impregnable protective sphere, continuing to absorb the surrounding veins.
Once the veins here were fully absorbed, he would continue to move forward, becoming a relentless ore refining machine, constantly absorbing the Sea Heart Iron around him.
Countless golden sand particles, like the most voracious worker ants, feverishly gnawed at and decomposed the surrounding Sea Heart Iron ore.
Centered around Duke and enveloped by golden sand, this spherical area turned the ore into powder at a rapid pace, then was pushed and compacted by the advancing sand, forming an ever-forward-moving underground hollow.
