Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds-Chapter 440 - 174 First Form
"You killed my dogs!" Sodan shrieked, Angry Flames bursting from his pitch-black pupils as myriad palm prints frantically smashed down from the sky.
The terrifying pressure made the ground begin to disintegrate even before the Qi Force of the palm prints landed.
Is this necessary?
They’re just a few dogs!
Carl sneered inwardly, but his actions showed no hesitation as he swung the Gravity Hammer to meet the attack head-on.
He was well aware that the three ’dogs’ had special Bloodlines and their strength was substantial. Each one was comparable to a First-order Middle Stage Legendary Knight. If the three had worked together, among everyone present, Carl was likely the only one who could have confidently held the upper hand. It was natural for the other party to value them so highly.
What he didn’t know was that these three ’dogs’ had been with Sodan since his birth. In Sodan’s eyes, these ’dogs’ weren’t just pets or playmates; they were intimate friends, family.
Moreover, since being blessed by the Evil God, Sodan’s strength had skyrocketed, reaching the limit of the First Order. Although there were many opponents present, he paid them no mind, perceiving a threat only from Carl. Naturally, he wanted to eliminate that threat quickly.
"BOOM!"
The myriad palm prints collided head-on with the Gravity Hammer, and the erupting Qi Force swept out in all directions from the point of impact. The hard mountain rock beneath their feet shattered violently, sending countless stone fragments spraying towards the crowd like arrows.
"UGH!" Carl grunted, taking a step back with effort. In terms of foundation, he was still slightly inferior.
"Die!" Sodan pressed his advantage, pouncing forward again as countless hands emerged from his chest, forming seals and mudras.
Holy Skill—Thousand Buddha Hands!
The benevolent and serene palm technique, combined with the eerie, twisted forms, a fusion of life and death, unleashed a horrifying destructive power.
Carl let out a long breath, his muscles rippling as the Gravity Hammer in his hand began to shimmer with a faint glow.
Tenfold gravity!
The already heavy hammer’s weight instantly increased tenfold, its gravity so intense it distorted the surrounding air. The incoming palm imprints were compressed by the gravity, drawn towards the hammer, and then they collided once more.
"BANG!"
Both figures staggered; this time, they were evenly matched.
"SWOOSH!"
Lightning flashed, and Carl’s figure abruptly appeared behind Sodan, Gravity Hammer raised high.
One-Circle Witchcraft—Thunder Wings!
Rotting flesh writhed on Sodan’s back as hands shot out, striking as if with foresight.
Buddha!
Profound wisdom.
A Third-tier Wizard could use the Star Realm to travel to other worlds, and powerful Gods, of course, often journeyed and explored. This Holy Skill had been discovered in one such world.
"BANG!"
The two collided once more.
Lightning flashed, and Carl seemed to transform into a dozen afterimages in an instant, launching a fierce assault on Sodan.
Holy Skill—Angel’s Stab!
He transformed the Gravity Hammer in his hand into a slender sword, its frenzied strikes creating a deafening, incessant roar.
"AAARGH!" As the battle dragged on without a clear victor, Sodan roared furiously to the sky. Countless arms erupted from his body, reaching for Carl.
Bizarre Thousand Buddha Hands!
The arms continuously shattered under the hammer’s blows, but new ones emerged even faster, nearly engulfing Carl’s figure.
"Stop this!"
The myriad arms retracted inward, morphing into two enormous, twisted hands, the lines on their palms formed by countless smaller handprints. The grotesque palms descended.
Carl’s figure suddenly froze.
No escape!
I’ll go all out!
The Gravity Hammer slipped from his grasp and flew out, the gravity it emanated increasing from tenfold to twentyfold. The distorting gravity Devoured everything around it.
Simultaneously, several Seals he carried were activated one after another.
"BANG!"
The Gravity Hammer blasted a hole straight through Sodan’s chest, and clusters of Fierce Flames frantically burned his body.
At the same moment, the two massive hands clamped tightly around Carl. Their terrifying power clashed with his Holy Demon Transformation, creating a temporary stalemate.
"Be careful!" Olanna cried out in alarm, as various streaks of light shot towards Sodan.
"Die!" With a roar, a black beam shot out from Sodan’s dark eye sockets, striking Carl squarely on the forehead.
"BANG!"
As if struck by an invisible, colossal force, Carl’s body arched backward, flying uncontrollably. The rich vitality in his body seemed to be instantly erased by some entity, leaving him deathly still.
「Spiritual Inner Sea.」
His active consciousness was slashed by a black light. The previously fluctuating stray thoughts and fervent fighting spirit abruptly vanished.
Demigod Bloodline—Dead Sleep Eyes!
This was a Talent Ability from the Demigod Bloodline which, enhanced by the power of the Evil God, could instantly kill any First Order being. As long as the target failed its resistance check. Even a Second Order being would die on the spot!
"BOOM!"
Carl’s body smashed through a wall, landing in the ruins like a broken rag doll, completely devoid of life.
...
「In the darkness.」
A flicker of Thunderclap emerged.
It is said that at the dawn of the universe, the first sound was thunder, symbolizing the birth of all things.
Carl’s eyes snapped open. He gasped for breath, his face etched with lingering fear. "Luckily, I cultivated Thunder God’s Fury and am immune to instant-death witchcraft. Otherwise, I would have truly been finished today." The sensation of dying, of falling into eternal darkness, still made him shudder in recollection.
Struggling to sit up, just as he was about to do something, Carl’s expression suddenly turned extremely peculiar.
"Great... Great Divine Grace?"
Around him, some Great Divine Graces were scattered.
No!
Not just some.
A great many!
On the ground, on tables, amidst the ruins—Great Divine Graces, each emitting a golden luster, lay scattered haphazardly. A quick scan revealed at least several hundred!
Several hundred!
Carl’s breath hitched, his mind went blank, but his body subconsciously began to quickly gather the Great Divine Graces from the ground. His figure flickered like an afterimage as he collected every Great Divine Grace, even those hidden in nooks and crannies. The total count...
996!
"Something’s wrong!" Before he could rejoice, Carl’s expression abruptly changed. He picked up a Great Divine Grace and examined it closely. "Verdigris?"
Great Divine Grace wasn’t merely a coin; it contained Origin Power. It should be impossible for it to rust. Yet now...
With a light squeeze, the Great Divine Grace appeared in his Divine Domain Fragment, and the Origin Power within was Devoured by the fragment.
Source Material:
+0.02
He picked up another.
Source Material: +0.03
Source Material: +0.01
The amount of Source Material contained in each Great Divine Grace varied, but it was far less than the usual amount. It was almost ten times less! Nearly a thousand Great Divine Graces yielded only 14.6 Source Material in total.
However...
One should be content!
Carl’s eyes focused, and he allocated all the Source Material to his Constitution.
Constitution: 18.4!
First Rank Late Stage!
An endless stream of power surged from within his body, making him want to roar to the heavens. He leaped out of the room.
The square was littered with corpses. The few survivors were locked in a fierce battle with the grievously wounded Sodan. Though severely injured and clearly no match for the group, Sodan was proving difficult to defeat.
"Sodan!" Carl roared. He extended a large hand, telekinetically retrieving the Gravity Hammer that had fallen nearby, and charged towards Sodan.
"Die!"
His Constitution, now at the First Rank Late Stage, allowed the power of the third layer of his Holy Demon Transformation to fully manifest. His terrifying strength directly blew Sodan’s body apart.
"Carl!"
"You’re not dead?" Olanna exclaimed, her face a mask of surprise. She understood the power of the Dead Sleep Eyes better than anyone else; a Legendary Knight struck by it had almost no chance of survival.
"Apparently so," Carl shrugged. "Be careful; Sodan isn’t dead either."
Based on past experience, killing someone with a Duke’s Bloodline should definitely yield Source Material, but his Divine Domain Fragment showed no reaction. Therefore, even though Sodan had been reduced to a pile of gore, he definitely wasn’t dead.
"SCHLICK!"
Before Carl had even finished speaking, the already heavily injured Blood Knight suddenly stiffened, despair flooding his eyes as a blood-soaked claw burst out from his chest.
"Watch out!"
"Attack!"
"..."
"BANG!"
Carl swung his Gravity Hammer, smashing it down towards a flickering shadow in the center of the area, only to hit empty air.
Invisibility?
His speed has increased considerably, but his defensive power seems weaker. Is this a second form?
He had dealt with beings possessed by the will of an Evil God before. Usually, the death of their physical body wasn’t true death. Instead, the death of the host body often allowed the Evil God’s will within to manifest new, previously unseen powers.
They would become even more difficult to handle!
