Chapter 31: Round-3

The next day arrived quickly.

When Lin Xiaotian teleported to the arena, he found that everyone had already gathered. The stands surrounding the arena were completely filled with disciples who had arrived early, their expressions filled with excitement and anticipation.

The eight contestants who had qualified for the next round were already standing in a parallel line at the center of the arena floor.

The moment Lin Xiaotian appeared, the entire arena stood up and greeted him respectfully. "Greetings, Sect Master!"

Lin Xiaotian nodded calmly as his gaze swept across the arena.

Soon his eyes landed on Han Leu, who was also present among the elders watching from the stands.

Lin Xiaotian smiled slightly. Han Leu stepped forward and greeted him respectfully before speaking with clear admiration in his voice. "That pill yesterday... it was truly something, Sect Master."

Lin Xiaotian laughed lightly. "No one in my sect should suffer unjustly."

Han Leu looked at him with deep respect.

After witnessing the sect’s hidden resources, the endless weapon hall, and the terrifying aura Lin Xiaotian had briefly released yesterday before suppressing it, his mindset had completely changed.

Lin Xiaotian could clearly see that Han Leu was no longer the same person who had arrived at the sect earlier.

He sighed inwardly and laughed only a fool would remain stubborn after seeing such a sect. Especially after feeling my true aura before I suppressed it.

Lin Xiaotian quickly shifted his attention back to the arena below. Without wasting time, he spoke calmly. "The matches will begin now."

A wave of excitement spread through the stands. Lin Xiaotian casually took out several slips and began announcing the matchups.

"Miao Han versus Yan Feng."

"Ciao Xiaoshan versus Han Jue."

"Qin Ye Chan versus Bai Zhan."

"And finally... Bai Xue versus Miao Tianhe."

The moment the names were announced, the contestants immediately moved toward their respective arenas.

The atmosphere grew tense Lin Xiaotian glanced at them briefly before speaking again. "Begin."

The moment the word left his mouth, one of the matches ended almost instantly.

A blur flashed across the arena and Miao Tianhe moved with terrifying speed.

Before Bai Xue could even draw the daggers at her waist, Tianhe had already appeared behind her like a ghost.

His clawed hand was already resting lightly on her swan-like neck and the protective formation immediately activated.

A faint barrier flashed into existence and pushed Tianhe’s claws away with a sharp humming sound.

Only then did Bai Xue realize what had happened and her body froze for a brief second before the formation activated, she had clearly felt Tianhe’s killing intent.

Pure, cold and predatory.

Her legs gave out as she collapsed onto the arena floor, her breathing uneven. Lin Xiaotian sighed slightly as he teleported directly onto the arena.

He already understood the situation Tianhe’s Beast King bloodline naturally carried an overwhelming predatory aura.

Even though Tianhe had not truly intended to kill her, that instinctive killing intent had leaked out the moment he moved.

Lin Xiaotian looked at him calmly. "Tianhe, Control your intent."

Tianhe lowered his head immediately. "Yes, Sect Master."

Lin Xiaotian then turned toward Bai Xue. He gently circulated a strand of spiritual qi into her body, calming the chaotic energy caused by fear.

Slowly, the invisible claws of terror gripping her heart began to fade. Her breathing steadied.

Realizing what had happened, Bai Xue quickly stood up and bowed deeply. "My apologies, Sect Master."

She then turned toward Tianhe. "And apologies, Senior Brother Tianhe. I lost my composure."

Tianhe also bowed slightly. "I should have restrained my intent better."

Lin Xiaotian nodded. "Do not worry. He is your fellow disciple."

"He would never harm you."

Hearing this, Bai Xue nodded gratefully before quickly retreating toward the stands.

Lin Xiaotian gestured toward Tianhe. "You may go wait as well."

Tianhe immediately obeyed and left the arena.

Lin Xiaotian teleported back to the central platform and looked toward the remaining matches.

By the time he returned, Ciao Xiaoshan had already finished his battle.

His opponent lay defeated on the arena floor while Xiaoshan stood calmly with his spear planted beside him.

Now only two matches remained. Yan Feng versus Miao Han and Qin Ye Chan versus Bai Zhan.

Lin Xiaotian watched quietly as the disciples fought with great determination.

Sword flashes clashed and spiritual energy rippled across the arenas as techniques collided again and again.

However, Lin Xiaotian could already see the truth clearly. Their strength was decent but still average in front of true monsters like Yan Feng, Tianhe and Ciao

In the future, he would have to find ways to improve the disciples’ overall potential. Perhaps better cultivation environments or specialized training grounds.

And eventually... He might have to be more selective when recruiting new disciples.

His attention soon focused on the battle between Yan Feng and Miao Han. The fight appeared intense.

Yan Feng’s sword moved like a streak of lightning, forcing Miao Han back step by step. Yet despite the pressure, Miao Han refused to fall.

His breathing was heavy and dis clothes were soaked with sweat. But his eyes remained filled with fierce determination.

Lin Xiaotian watched carefully. He could easily tell that Yan Feng had still not revealed even a quarter of his true strength.

Even after all these rounds Yet Lin Xiaotian still admired Miao Han.

Few people possessed such willpower.

As he watched the battle, Lin Xiaotian suddenly remembered a Heaven-level war technique stored in the sect library.

If the sect ever built a true army... This boy might be one of the best candidates to lead it.

Because generals were not born from talent alone, they were born from will. After half an incense stick of time, the battle finally began tilting decisively.

Miao Han slowly fell into a disadvantage. Yan Feng’s sword strikes became faster, sharper and more precise.

Each strike forced Miao Han back another step. Finally, Yan Feng stepped forward and his sword burst forward in a flash of light.

A powerful shockwave erupted and Miao Han was blown backward and collapsed onto the arena floor.

The protective formation activated, marking the end of the match. Yan Feng sheathed his sword calmly.

At the same time, the other match also concluded. Bai Zhan had won his fight, but his breathing was heavy and his spiritual energy was nearly exhausted.

Lin Xiaotian sighed quietly. Alas looks This boy’s journey likely ends here.

Lin Xiaotian stood up and looked toward everyone. "The next round will begin in one incense stick of time."

"Participants may recover."

After saying that, he slowly sat back down. He looked toward Han Leu with a mischievous smile. "It is time to enjoy a few things, Elder Han."

Han Leu chuckled. "Yes, Sect Master."

"Now the real monsters will begin fighting."

As the two conversed casually, the incense stick slowly burned away. Soon only ash remained.

Lin Xiaotian stood up and Han Leu followed him. The two figures floated down from the stands and landed on the arena floor.

The four remaining disciples were already waiting.

Ciao Xiaoshan.

Miao Tianhe.

Yan Feng.

And Bai Zhan.

Lin Xiaotian looked at them briefly before drawing the next slips.

"Ciao Xiaoshan versus Miao Tianhe."

"Yan Feng versus Bai Zhan."

The moment he finished speaking, Bai Zhan stepped forward.

He bowed respectfully. "Sect Master... I wish to forfeit."

Lin Xiaotian raised an eyebrow as Bai Zhan spoke calmly. "And believe me, it is not because I am afraid."

"I simply know my limits."

"Fighting Senior Brother Yan Feng in my current condition would bring little benefit to my cultivation."

"And I am already exhausted from the previous battle."

Yan Feng looked at him for a moment before nodding. "I respect that."

Lin Xiaotian smiled faintly. "A wise decision."

Bai Zhan bowed once more before returning to the pavilion. Yan Feng also stepped aside and returned to the stands.

Now only two people remained on the arena floor Ciao Xiaoshan and Miao Tianhe.

The two stood facing each other across the arena both of them had the same expression in their eyes.

Excitement, madness and an unending desire to fight.

Lin Xiaotian looked at them and shook his head slightly. "Bloodthirsty bastards."

But even as he said those words... a faint smile appeared on his face.
