Chapter 21: Beast King

The moment Lin Xiaotian met the boy’s eyes, his body froze. A pressure descended on him. It wasn’t killing intent nor was it any kind of intimidation.

It was something far older... something primordial.

For a brief instant, Lin Xiaotian felt as if he were standing before an ancient sovereign of the wild a ruler of beasts that had existed long before humans ever cultivated the Dao.

Then the mechanical voice of the system suddenly rang inside his mind.

[Danger detected.][Beast King Bloodline detected.][Status: Half-sealed.]

A short pause followed before the voice spoke again.

[Hidden mission activated prematurely.]

Mission: Tame the Beast King

Reward: ???

Lin Xiaotian’s pupils shrank slightly. A Beast King...

Only creatures born as natural sovereigns among beasts were given such a designation by the system.

He looked at the boy again barely sixteen or seventeen years old yet the aura hidden within him was terrifying. A true monster.

Slowly, a grin spread across Lin Xiaotian’s face. "Seems the heavens are quite generous," he muttered softly. "I’ve picked up a whole pack of monsters."

The moment that grin appeared, everyone around him shifted uncomfortably. Especially his disciples.

They knew that expression far too well. Whenever their sect master smiled like that... something strange was about to happen.

Lin Xiaotian suddenly turned toward Han Leu. "Give me a pill."

Han Leu sighed, already guessing what was coming, but still took out a healing pill and handed it over.

Without another word, Lin Xiaotian walked straight toward the chained boy.

Before the boy could react, Lin Xiaotian grabbed his jaw and forced his mouth open, shoving the pill inside. "Eat."

Right now, no matter how monstrous the boy’s bloodline might be, he was nothing more than an injured chick.

The boy’s eyes widened in shock as for a brief moment he struggled, instinctively resisting.

But the instant he sensed the pure medicinal power spreading through his body, his expression froze.

He immediately jumped backward and sat cross-legged on the ground, beginning to refine the pill.

The speed was astonishing within the time it took for a single incense stick to burn, the boy’s wounds rapidly closed, broken flesh knitting together as vitality returned to his body.

Seeing this, Lin Xiaotian casually waved his hand. "Remove his chains."

The guards quickly obeyed by the time the chains fell away, the boy had already finished refining the pill.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked at Lin Xiaotian with a complicated expression.

Just as he was about to speak, footsteps sounded from the side. The servant Lin Xiaotian had sent earlier returned bringing Miao-Miao with her.

The little girl was now wearing a clean dress, her messy appearance gone. She looked adorable.

The moment the boy saw her, his entire expression changed. "Miao-Miao!"

The girl’s eyes instantly filled with tears as she ran toward him. "Brother!" She threw herself into his arms.

Seeing him fully healed, she looked up at him anxiously. "Did the lord save you, brother?"

Then she lowered her head guiltily. "I... I’m sorry, brother. I promised him that we would serve him if he saved you... even though you told me never to bow to anyone."

Her small voice trembled. "Miao-Miao couldn’t watch you die."

The boy gently stroked her head and after a moment, he lifted his gaze toward Lin Xiaotian.

His eyes were calm but vigilant. "What do you want from us, Lord?" "Why help us?"

His voice turned colder. "And I assure you if you intend to do anything depraved, I have the means to kill both of us before you can."

He paused, then added quietly, "I apologize if my words offend you... but you should know how people like us are usually treated."

Lin Xiaotian burst into laughter upon hearing those words. "Don’t compare me with the rest of the world."

His gaze was calm, yet there was an unquestionable authority within it. "I’m not here to demand your servitude."

He paused before continuing, "I want you to join my sect... and become its disciples."

A faint smile appeared on his face. "After that, beneath the heavens and above the earth, there will only be **one person whose orders you must follow."

"Me."

His voice carried absolute certainty. "If you join, I will treat you well. My sect does not abandon its own."

Then his eyes swept over the boy calmly. "And as for doing something depraved to you..." he scoffed lightly.

"I have no interest in such trivialities."

Hearing this, the boy was utterly shocked. He looked at Yan Feng before turning back to Lin Xiaotian.

"Do you truly mean it, Lord? Taking me in will bring countless problems to your sect. And... you never know when I might go berserk and hurt someone."

Lin Xiaotian scoffed.

"If anyone dares pursue my sect’s disciples, they will meet their doom soon enough. As for going berserk do not worry about it. Simply walk the path of immortality."

The boy stared at Lin Xiaotian in confusion. Should I believe him?

Even though Lin Xiaotian had helped them, the boy hesitated. Yet his beast instincts sensed no malice from the man before him and those instincts had never been wrong.

This might be my only chance to walk the path of immortality.

Fragments of his inherited memories surfaced in his mind, especially the final line:

"The one who walks the path of ashes may churn the world in blood."

The boy clenched his fists At the very least... I can try as i have nothing left

After all, he had nothing left to lose.

He suddenly dropped to his knees, pulling his little sister down with him.

With solemn determination, he performed the apprenticeship ceremony.

"I, Miao Tianhe, kneel before my master. Let Heaven and Earth bear witness."

Beside him, the little girl followed suit. "I... Miao-Miao, greet Master."

As they completed the oath, the heavens suddenly trembled.

A faint spiritual ring spread across the sky like ripples on water, humming softly through the air.

Han Liu sensed it instantly and his expression changed as shock flashed across his face.

Only oaths made by cultivators at the Divine Transformation realm or above were normally acknowledged by the heavens. Yet somehow, the Heavenly Will had responded to the oath of these two children.

Han Liu stared at them in disbelief. How could this be...?
