Witch, Fireball and the Evil God of Steam-Chapter 753 - 118: Golden Fleet, Set Sail! (Part 2)
Who wouldn't wish to be treated like a little kitten when facing a crisis?
Tsk, it must be because two years ago when she was picked up as a stray cat by Ethan, that woman got a taste of sweetness.
The black cat lay on Ethan's shoulder, looking down at the girl with green hair beside him. She admitted that she was startled by the commotion just now. She never expected these Elemental Elves, which seemed to be here for show, to be so formidable in combat.
She glanced around at the shards and wreckage strewn about; the fallen "Angel" was now in pieces.
Not only could she fight, but she fought hard.
"Little Dark, get to work."
Ethan reminded the black cat on his shoulder that they still had one final task to complete, which was the VIP package promised to Merlin and Zhuang Xiao.
"Is there really a need for this?"
The black cat asked in confusion.
Not to mention the fact that those living here were soulless puppets; before the "Angel" arrived, they were reverted to their original state, and the shelter was left with only a mess of human remains. "Unfortunately, I found Zhuang Xiao's 'pieces,' her soul's whereabouts are unknown, and that person named Merlin disappeared into the white light after rushing toward a piece of wreckage."
"It's the spirit of the contract," Ethan said. "Whether the employers are alive or not, we must fulfill the commission."
"Alright, I understand."
The darkness once again enveloped the world.
It tore open a rift above the clouds, dragging the surface of the ground into the sky with irresistible force. The city's wreckage and the shelter hidden beneath were pulled into the pitch-black gap.
...
Days later, a small aircraft landed here.
"Hiss—!"
The person covered in machinery, whose face was obscured, took a sharp breath upon disembarking.
This was a recovery task issued by the Holy City, but it did not specify the recovery's contents. They received only a beacon, which led them to this unprecedented "spectacle."
This was a barren planet, common enough, but different due to a gap on its surface.
It was only upon landing that they witnessed the horrifying scene clearly.
Someone had dug out a part of this planet in a manner beyond their comprehension.
Based on the intel they received, there should have been a destroyed city here, surrounded by four channels serving as the entrances to shelters. The Holy City couldn't determine if there were dangers lurking within, thus preparation for combat was necessary before entry.
Yet now, they needn't worry.
Believe it or not, someone had uprooted the destroyed city and the shelter, relocating it to an unknown place.
"Guys, we need to head home."
The armored man spoke, "This time, the Holy City might be in big trouble."
...............
Elsewhere, after several days of toil, the shelter successfully relocated to the forest between the Empire and the Gallog Kingdom. Diplomats from both countries, representatives of the Lofic Consortium, and followers of major Evil God's sects witnessed the settlement of these new inhabitants. The shelter's situation, however, caught them off guard.
They were prepared for connections and communication but found only scattered human remains in the shelter, as if a massacre had just occurred, leaving many with severe psychological shadows.
Fortunately, Ethan invited the "Flesh Master" Bazatous.
He reassembled the scattered body parts, and after days of communication, the shelter's residents learned the truth. Most, after brief mourning, decided to move forward. They returned to the surface, erected statues for Merlin and Zhuang Xiao, and began city reconstruction.
The Lofic Consortium sent a team of consultants to assist with the residents' construction efforts, marking an opportune time to learn from the shelter's knowledge and technology.
Bazatous, however, didn't appear very pleased to help.
He thought Ethan finally intended to explore the arts of flesh, but upon hearing Ethan's request, couldn't hide his profound disappointment.
This left Ethan feeling a bit guilty.
It's like having a friend bring rare, aged wine to your home, only to tell them you're stuck with orange juice.
Particularly when Bazatous' human form had six eyes, showing sixfold disappointment.
Fortunately, Bazatous' mood improved upon discovering many residents were fans of bloody art, and they had numerous treasured movie discs.
Life must go on, after all.
The Eternal Empire and Holy City remain significant threats, while the Truth Society, due to Observer 003's presence, is deeply rooted in this land.
It's a powerful civilization with mastery of cosmic travel.
So, Ethan gathered his friends to discuss strategies.
"The moment has finally arrived!"
In the new cabinet meeting room of the Imperial Capital, Ethan spoke passionately.
Ave frowned, forming a stark contrast with the relaxed golden retriever on her head, trying hard to grasp Ethan's proposed plan.
First, they need to leave this planet.
Second, establish alliances with planets not yet conquered and brainwashed by the Eternal Empire, to jointly face formidable foes.
Third, form a "Mysticism" alliance opposed to them, as unknown domains surely harbor other highly advanced civilizations of mysticism!
It's a grand plan, but it got stuck on its initial step.
Here's the question; how should they leave this planet?
Even Ave hasn't fully grasped sudden concepts like planets, star systems, and the universe. But the meeting room's eyes focus intently on her, expecting much.
"Why is everyone looking at me?"
Ave felt uneasy under scrutiny.
"Ave, stop hiding. It's your turn to shine."
"Me?"
Ave pointed to herself, perplexed about what secret talent she might possess to convince everyone she could take this great first step—especially since there were at least six Saint-level powerhouses, plus an Old God attached to an octopus present, yet she was the focal point.
"You still don't get it? The Golden Fleet, it's time for its revival!"
Ethan thought the new title of Fleet Commander suited Ave well.
This "Imperial Sword" known since Creekwood, coveted by Pope Julius, was finally about to take the stage.
"Show us, Miss Ave. I've long wanted to witness ancient technology rivaling the 'Ark'."
Yue was also invited to the meeting, tasked with a technical consultant role, as steam technology flourished in the Western Continent.
Hearing this, Ave momentarily felt darkness clouding her vision.
The mention reminded her of the Margaret Clan blood flowing in her veins, a key to the Golden Fleet—something she'd long dismissed as background scenery.
"I think you've got it wrong."
"Wrong? Isn't the Golden Fleet supposed to fly?"
Yue asked in astonishment.
"It can fly, but... not that high."
Ethan suggested, "No worries, we can use warp technology."
"No, it's not equipped with such advanced tech."
"Don't worry. We can trust the all-purpose ancient technology when the time comes," optimistically suggested Rowena.
"You clearly don't understand ancient technology. Why do you think ancients could sail ships off this planet?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Huh? Then what's it good for?"
The soul-searching question from the black cat on the table made Ave feel like she was being grilled.
Like having friends over with rare, aged wine while you're stuck with orange juice.
"It..."
Ave's mind raced, trying to pinpoint the Golden Fleet's extraordinary features.
"It... actually holds considerable archaeological value."
