Who Cares About Him When I'm Married to the Richest Man?-Chapter 55: Let Them Go
He watched her silhouette gradually fade away, his eyes flickering with complex emotions.
Once upon a time, he faced the same situation she described. She would never know how much he had to sacrifice to stand in front of her so openly.
As soon as Elara entered the restaurant, Zara Dalton spotted her, stood up, and waved, "Elara, over here!"
Elara smiled and quickly walked over, handing over ten thousand cash she took out on the way, blinking, "In case there are more expenses, it’s never a bad idea to have extra money when with a girl."
Zara laughed, "You’re overthinking it."
Then, she turned to introduce Haylie Sommers, "This is my friend, Elara Hale, Elara, this is Haylie, whom I’ve mentioned to you."
Haylie Sommers gave a gentle smile and said to Elara, "So it’s Miss Hale, I’ve heard a lot about you. Just as Zara said, you’re truly stunning."
Elara slightly frowned. She had felt a sense of familiarity when she saw Haylie’s photo before and now seeing her in person, this feeling was even stronger, but she still couldn’t recall where they had met.
She temporarily suppressed her doubts, and smiled, "Not at all, Miss Sommers, you are the naturally beautiful one."
Haylie warmly said, "Thank you for coming all this way. Why not sit down and have a drink with us?"
Saying this, she had already picked up a clean glass and poured a drink for Elara.
Elara originally wanted to decline, but since Haylie had already handed her the glass, she couldn’t say much more. Noticing the lower alcohol content on the bottle of sweet wine, she didn’t protest any further.
Clinking glasses with Haylie, Elara drank the wine, then apologized, "I have to work tomorrow, so I won’t disturb you any further. Have fun!"
Haylie smiled and said, "Take care on your way back."
Elara nodded, waved to Zara, "I’m off."
Zara knew she came with Zion Fitzwilliam, so she wasn’t worried, "Go ahead, I’ll transfer the money to you another day."
"It’s not urgent."
After speaking, Elara lifted her foot and walked out.
Just as she was about to reach the door, she suddenly felt dizzy, held her head, and took a few more steps, sensing something was wrong, her mind went blank as if she were about to faint.
Elara could not help but shake her head, what’s going on?
The next second, her world spun around, and she fell to the ground.
She happened to fall in a spot blocked by a column, out of the restaurant’s line of sight, so Zara naturally had no idea that her friend had an accident just a dozen meters away.
As soon as Elara fell, Rosalind Jacobs immediately approached with a group, swiftly and efficiently helping her up and carrying her out.
Even the store clerks didn’t notice anything unusual.
Rosalind looked at the unconscious Elara, a cold smile emerging at the corner of her mouth.
Elara, today is your day?
I have prepared a special gift just for you. Thinking you can compete with Cece over a man, you’d better be ready to go to hell!
However, she didn’t know that at the same time she helped Elara up, two men in two separate taxis not far away witnessed the scene.
Zion Fitzwilliam got out of the car and quickly walked over, his face dark, getting to the group and snatching Elara from their hands!
The group was completely unprepared, and their captive was taken right out of their hands, they angrily turned to Zion, "Who are you? Hand her over!"
Rosalind stepped forward from behind them, glaring at Zion with gritted teeth, "You again! Persistent ghost! Do you really think I can’t deal with you? This is my turf!"
Saying this, she waved her hand, and a dozen people approached from different directions, surrounding Zion.
Rosalind glared at Zion coldly, "I don’t want to make a scene. Let her go, and I’ll pretend nothing happened, allowing you to leave."
Zion laughed dismissively, "You can let them all come at once and see if I can take her away."
When he challenged the forty-eight warriors arranged by his grandfather at the Fitzwilliam Family with bare fists, Rosalind was still somewhere sucking on lollipops.
He didn’t even take these dozen people seriously.
And he would never abandon Elara to run away.
Rosalind seeing he wasn’t afraid, sneered, "Refusing a toast only to drink a forfeit! Do you think you can take her away like this? Hmph, I have ways to keep both of you here. Since you insist on staying, why not be one of the film’s leads!"
She was about to order them to all join in when her phone rang suddenly. At first, she didn’t want to answer, but seeing the caller, she quickly picked up and tried to sound innocent, "Hello, brother."
Mason Jacobs’s voice came through, forcefully suppressing his anger, "Let them go!"
Rosalind was momentarily taken aback and tried to play dumb, "Brother, what are you talking about? I don’t understand, let who go?"
Mason was nearly driven mad with anger, gritting his teeth, "Let Elara Hale and Zion Fitzwilliam leave! Tell your people to stand down!"
Rosalind jumped in surprise, "Brother, how did you know..."
"You don’t need to worry about how I know!" Mason said coldly, "Immediately let them go, don’t get involved in this anymore, you can’t afford the consequences!"
Rosalind also gritted her teeth, since her brother found out, she thought she might as well go all the way. She didn’t want to give up, "Brother, I finally caught this opportunity, as long as..."
Before she could finish, Mason interrupted angrily, "Are you stupid? Don’t you understand what I mean? I told you to let them go! Now, immediately, right away, I’ll deal with you later!"
Rosalind was frightened by the anger in her brother’s tone, although unwilling in her heart, she dared not say anything further, hung up the phone, glared at Zion unwillingly, and turned to her people, "Let’s go!"
After speaking, she spun around and left.
Zion didn’t seem surprised by this outcome, taking Elara with him into the taxi.
Meanwhile, Rosalind was stopped by Mason at the back door of the hotel.
