Whirlwind Marriage: My Possessive CEO's Undying Pampering-Chapter 924 - 923: Stalking (Part 2)
"By the way, Miss... when are you and the President planning to remarry?"
Bell still seemed quite concerned about Eva Nightingale: "The baby is due soon..."
Eva paused for a moment: "I don’t plan to remarry him now." The crucial thing is what he wants, right? Besides, how can she handle his hot-and-cold behavior, it breaks her heart to pieces.
"Not remarrying?"
"Mm..." replied Eva.
They had made up before, but then he neglected her again, even that day at the office. Forget it, no point mentioning it!
"Miss, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bring up unhappy things." Bell said while helping Eva into the car, "I was planning to ask Carla Carr to comfort you, but when I called her, I couldn’t get through. Her phone has been off."
Eva furrowed her brow: "You said you couldn’t reach Carla’s phone?"
Bell: "Yes. Carla hasn’t shown up for over two weeks. No idea where she’s gone, could something have happened..."
They usually have a good relationship.
But they’re not together all the time, and besides, they’re grown-ups with their own careers, meeting different people.
Bell plans to always stay with them, not looking for a partner or planning to get married.
"I’ll try calling her." Eva said as she opened her phone, scrolled to Carla Carr’s number, and dialed it. But shortly after, the call returned with, "Sorry, the number you dialed is turned off."
It’s off.
Eva knows what kind of person Carla is.
Though she’s a bit reckless sometimes, she’s kind-hearted, and would always tell Eva if something’s up. She wouldn’t disappear without a word or block Eva’s number.
The only reason they can’t reach her is because something must have happened, that’s right, something must be wrong.
Eva urgently dialed several more times, all ending the same way...
"Bell, go find a private detective to track her whereabouts."
There’s no other choice now, Eva is in City A and won’t be able to return to Sovereign Capital until the end of the week. Hopefully, Carla, reckless as she is, doesn’t end up in trouble, otherwise, Eva will worry herself sick.
"Miss, don’t worry, I’ll find someone to quickly track down Carla’s whereabouts and report back to you."
"Mm."
...
It was already late at night when they returned to the hotel.
As Eva got out of the car, she saw someone selling flowers at the hotel entrance; red roses, breathtakingly beautiful. After staring blankly for a few seconds, she headed into the hotel.
Simultaneously, from within a black Rolls-Royce Phantom under the night sky, a man with deep, captivating eyes also glanced at those roses at the hotel entrance. Does she like them?!
Though it was night, he could sense that she stared at the flowers for several seconds.
...
Just like the previous evening, Eva took a bath, donned her pajamas, and got into bed. Just as she was about to fall asleep, there was a knock on the door: "Knock knock!"
"Excuse me, Miss, are you awake?"
"Can you please sign for your flowers?"
Eva opened the door and saw the flower vendor from downstairs delivering the flowers.
"Did you get the wrong room? I didn’t buy any flowers!" Even though she thought the flowers were quite beautiful, Eva hadn’t bought them.
The vendor checked the room number and confirmed: "No mistake, these flowers are indeed yours!"
"Don’t worry, Miss, they’re absolutely fresh, the best quality."
Eva: "Um... I really didn’t buy any flowers."
"Miss, someone paid earlier and specifically requested these be delivered to you, just accept them."
