When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 925: Assigning Protection
Just as Rhiannon Xavier was about to angrily push her into the pond, Nathan Xavier quickly grabbed her raised hand!
Gia was startled, her body frozen as she watched the scene unfold!
Rhiannon turned her eyes sharply, "..." Seeing her brother, she was immediately so frightened that her face turned pale, and she stammered, "Brother..."
Gia ended the call, standing silently, her eyes dark and unsure of what to say for a moment, not expecting Miss Xavier to actually make a move.
With her wrist being grabbed, Rhiannon met her brother’s cold gaze and noticed he was holding a phone.
She turned her eyes again and saw that Gia was also holding a phone.
Suddenly she guessed something, did she secretly make a call? Otherwise, how could her brother have arrived so coincidentally?
Well, goodness! Just awake for a few days and already so close with her brother? And her brother is protecting her?
This made Rhiannon even more furious!
But facing Nathan, she didn’t want to argue. All the words she had said, whether on the phone or behind earlier, Nathan should have heard them clearly.
Nathan forcefully shook her away, pulling her further away.
She staggered a few steps to find her balance, "..." feeling aggrieved and upset.
This way she couldn’t push Gia into the pond again; there was a certain distance between them, with Nathan standing in the middle.
Rhiannon rubbed her aching wrist, suppressing her anger as she looked at Gia, feeling awkward and guilty facing her brother.
But Nathan, for some reason, didn’t even want to bother scolding her; he withdrew his gaze and walked over to Gia, "I’ll take you back."
Gia glanced at him without saying anything, turned around, and started walking, with Nathan following behind to escort her.
Along the way, Gia felt very apologetic.
It was only until they reached the courtyard where she was staying that she stopped and turned to look at him, "Thank you, Nathan."
If he hadn’t arrived in time, she might have been pushed into the pond by Rhiannon, and she admitted to being a bit scheming, wanting him to see the true nature of this woman.
"From now on, keep someone by your side, and you can call me for anything," Nathan explained to her, "That person just now isn’t my sister; she just has the surname Xavier, with no blood relation to the Xavier Family."
Is this... not wanting others to think poorly of The Xavier Family’s upbringing?
Gia slightly smiled, "I understand."
"Has she been giving you trouble all this time?" he asked.
The girl nodded, "A few times, she directly tried to drive me away. It’s clear she really likes you." Therefore, Miss Xavier felt threatened.
Upon hearing the word ’like,’ Nathan’s face turned green. Who wants her affections?
"So, Nathan, try not to come here in the future, so she doesn’t misunderstand." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"I conduct myself without needing to consider anyone else’s feelings. Whether she misunderstands or not, I don’t care at all," Nathan said, "Don’t worry, I’ll have someone protect you, and she won’t have any chance."
Not waiting for Gia to say anything more, he told her, "Good night," then turned and left.
Soon, two men came over, greeted Gia and the elderly gentleman, saying they were there to ensure peace in the area.
At this moment, Rhiannon was waiting directly at Nathan’s place, having organized her words to explain and apologize to him.
So, when Nathan entered the hall, she got up from the chair and walked over with grievances, "Brother, listen to my explanation. Things are not as you saw..."
Nathan didn’t leave, didn’t go upstairs, and didn’t sit down. He just stood there looking at her, curious about how she would explain.
"She saw you coming and deliberately provoked me!"
"Brother, she’s really scheming and has plans to stay with The Xavier Family for a long time!"
"She previously hinted it to me. I was just worried about her mysterious origins causing trouble for The Xavier Family. After all, it’s so unbelievable that she drifted here from the river!"
"Are you done?" Nathan said blandly, "Whatever you thought of, our parents have thought of too, so just take care of yourself."
