Chapter 819: Chapter 819: A Bit Powerless

After returning to the large villa, the nanny happily and quietly told them, "Master, Madam, the young lady just fell asleep, she didn’t cry or fuss, she’s so well-behaved."

"Alright, thank you for your hard work." Faye Turner went to her daughter’s cradle, looking at her adorable sleeping face, a sense of happiness welled up from her heart.

This truly was a tranquil time.

"Did she drink milk before bed?" Adrian Lancaster asked the nanny while taking off his vest, inquiring about his daughter’s condition.

The nanny smiled kindly, "Yes, Master, she drank 200 milliliters half an hour before sleep, rested for a while, then fell asleep."

"Okay." Adrian Lancaster really was attentive when it came to the child.

Since it was already late, Faye Turner prepared to take a shower, and just as the sound of water began to echo from the bathroom, Adrian Lancaster’s phone rang.

He took it out to check, pondering as he stared at the string of numbers with a complex mood, after a while, he answered, "Any updates?"

Due to being disappointed too many times, he didn’t dare to hold on to hope, lacking confidence even when asking the question.

"Boss, can we meet at the club tomorrow? Let’s discuss face to face." There’s really a lot to report.

From the slightly despondent tone of the caller, Adrian Lancaster could easily deduce that there wasn’t yet the result he wanted.

"Tomorrow’s not possible." Tomorrow is Milo’s college entrance exam, he promised to take him and accompany him.

"Then..." The other party dared not confirm the time with him any further, hesitated, and gave the initiative back to him. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Adrian Lancaster sat down in the chair, spoke in a low voice, "I’ll contact you as soon as I’m available."

"Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Adrian Lancaster’s thoughts lingered on the matter of helping his wife find her parents.

When could he finally present her with this grand gift?

Sometimes, Adrian Lancaster would fall into a deep sense of powerlessness, if it were work-related, he would have the capability to handle it well.

Faye Turner came out after her shower, stood at the bathroom door, drying her hair while looking toward the figure sitting by the window.

It was obvious he was lost in thought, his tall figure slightly leaning forward, elbows resting on his knees, hands clasped at his nose.

In the warm, yellow room light, one could faintly see his furrowed brow, seemingly encountering some challenging issue.

Faye Turner walked toward him, Adrian Lancaster snapped back to reality, turned his gaze to her, then gathered all his sorrow and reached out to her with a smile.

"Are you going to shower?" She approached him, placed her hand in his palm, then sat down beside him, "We should rest early."

"Okay." Adrian Lancaster nodded, only when he saw her did his mood improve greatly, casting aside all worries.

Faye Turner mused, "Do you think Milo is asleep? You, who don’t have to take college entrance exams, probably can’t relate to this feeling, right?"

"I don’t think he would be too anxious, unless he performs abnormally, his ideal university is likely secured." Adrian had confidence in him.

"I feel like ever since he got close to you, he’s like a different person." She turned to look at his handsome profile, "Did you notice? Being close to you makes him better."

"It’s not really that, it’s just that he’s grown up."

"He really is a bit like you now, particularly in terms of self-discipline." Faye felt her brother had really made great progress, "Plus, he’s always taken you as a role model."

Adrian likewise thought highly of him, believing he would nurture him well in the company in the future.

"I’ll blow-dry your hair for you first."

"No, no, I’ll do it myself, you hurry and shower, early to bed and early to rise."

He thought for a moment, didn’t insist, "Alright then." Then stood up and walked toward the bathroom.

As Faye Turner watched his back, she wondered whether it was a problem with his company’s recent project, he was always worried.

Yet, when facing her, he was gentle and full of smiles.
