When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 806: We Can Get Married Right Now
"You’re welcome." She smiled radiantly.
"But seriously, you put me on the bed, aren’t you afraid I’ll throw up all over it?" Chase tried to recall what happened last night, "I could’ve just slept on the sofa."
"Which is more important, you or the sheets?" Rachel replied with a smile, "No way would I let you sleep on the sofa." Then she handed him a spoon, "Here, have some porridge first?"
"Thank you."
Her voice was sweet, "No need to thank me." Although Rachel was divorced and had a child, she was really young, about the same age as Faye Turner, and had great skin.
She was also very pretty, with a high nose bridge and delicate eyebrows, a beautiful jawline, long black velvet-like eyelashes, and bright, dark eyes, with a fair and elegant neck.
To ease her mind, Chase sighed lightly over breakfast and spoke to her—
"A big project was snatched away by a competitor’s dirty tactics. I was feeling down, drank too much at the bar, and then... turned heroic..."
The man let out a slight bitter smile, lifting his injured hand, "Drank too much and challenged ten by myself, got a little hurt, made you laugh."
So that’s what happened?? It’s not related to her? Didn’t clash with his parents?
Rachel looked up at him; although injured... she felt he was really brave.
She gave him a thumbs up, "Amazing, but next time you step up, make sure to protect yourself, especially when you’re alone and have been drinking."
Chase didn’t lie because around noon, Rachel saw the news. Several media outlets praised Chase as a good citizen and even revealed his identity as the President of Fletcher Group.
Soon enough, the caregiver arrived as June woke up. Upon seeing President Fletcher, she greeted quickly and went into the room to take care of June.
She wanted to give the two youngsters more time to be together.
"By the way, have you thought about letting June stay at my place?" Chase suddenly remembered and asked, "My mom really likes June."
This matter... Rachel really didn’t know how to decide.
Because she didn’t have foresight, she didn’t know if sending June to The Fletcher Family would be the right decision.
When it comes to a child’s growth, every little thing requires a mother’s caution, let alone something this significant?
Seeing she hadn’t decided yet, Chase simply looked at her without pressing further. He took another sip of porridge and praised her cooking skills, "It’s really good; I’ll have another bowl."
He changed the topic, yet she addressed it directly, "Chase, we haven’t married yet, and if we trouble your parents now..."
"We’re bound to marry." Chase told her seriously, "I can marry you right now, as long as you’re willing."
"..." Rachel gazed at the tenderness and determination in his eyes, unsure how to respond for a moment.
Chase reiterated, "I’m serious."
Just then, because June continued calling for her mom in the bedroom, the caregiver couldn’t handle it anymore and brought the child out.
As soon as the child saw Chase, she cheerfully called, "Daddy, daddy, daddy..." The little one waved her hands and feet, overjoyed.
Chase and Rachel looked at the child, who was playing with a rattle while calling, "Mommy, mommy, mommy..."
Chase was delighted, "June, little cutie, you’re awake?"
Rachel quickly stood up to embrace the child, "June, come, mommy will feed you some porridge?"
"Miss Sherman, I’ll go tidy up the room." The caregiver beamed with joy, glanced at them, and walked toward the bedroom.
"Thank you, Auntie."
"No need for thanks, no need, feed her more, she must be hungry."
"Alright."
Then the bedroom door closed.
