Chapter 721: Chapter 721: The Whole Family Is Crazy

Chase Fletcher’s kiss was quite gentlemanly, lacking any indulgence or tugging, and absent of deep affection, just an irresistible urge.

Even when he let her go, Rachel Sherman’s mind was still blank.

Then, he casually unlocked the car door, and the blushing Rachel heard the sound of the unlock.

"Get out." The man said in a calm tone.

Rachel turned her gaze to see him holding the steering wheel with one hand, his deep eyes looking straight ahead.

She quickly came to her senses, dashed out of the car, and her figure swiftly disappeared into the night.

As she dashed into the building’s entryway, she still felt her entire cheeks burning, and especially the blood in her veins felt like it was boiling.

Entering the elevator, she turned and leaned against the elevator wall, her mind filled with the scene inside the car just moments ago, the kiss disturbing her inner peace.

In the subsequent days, Chase Fletcher seemed to vanish from Rachel Sherman’s life without a trace.

He didn’t call her, didn’t send her a WeChat message, and didn’t wait for her downstairs at her company.

Yet the scene from that night kept resurfacing in Rachel’s mind, making it seem increasingly like a dream.

A few days later, Rachel worked overtime again then sorted out a pile of rural revitalization interview materials, and as she headed downstairs, the sky began to drizzle.

She looked up, feeling a bit weary, and opened her umbrella to step out.

She hadn’t walked a few steps before she unexpectedly encountered Dylan Shaw, and this time, not only Dylan but also his parents.

Upon seeing her, Mrs. Shaw affectionately rushed over, "Rachel, Rachel! You’ve finally gotten off work? Are you working overtime this late lately? Are you tired? Can your body handle it?"

Mr. Shaw came over with an umbrella, also looking concerned.

The couple came in front of her, quickly handing over a thermal bowl. Mr. Shaw held the umbrella for Mrs. Shaw, smiling warmly at her.

Rachel frowned, looking indifferent.

"Here’s some black chicken soup we made for you, take it home and drink it while it’s hot, here!" Mrs. Shaw insisted, directly grabbing her hand and stuffing the bag into it.

Without waiting for Rachel to say anything, Mrs. Shaw quickly urged Mr. Shaw to turn around, and the two swiftly left.

"Hey! I don’t want it!" Rachel exclaimed, feeling like she was holding a hot potato.

She saw Dylan turning around to open the car door for his parents.

Rachel held the umbrella with one hand, stunned, while holding the bag with the other, coldly gazing at the scene with a throat feeling as uncomfortable as if she’d swallowed a fly.

What the hell is this?!

Are they all crazy?

After Dylan’s car left, she irritably headed to the bus stop, paused for a moment by the trash can, and hesitated for a few seconds while looking at the bag in her hand.

After thinking about it, she decided not to throw it away and took it back home.

Taking the elevator upstairs, upon entering the apartment, she saw the aunt gently closing the bedroom door before coming out, smiling warmly as she approached, "Miss Sherman, you’re back?"

"Yes, Auntie." She greeted her politely, "June is asleep, right?"

"June just fell asleep. She was easy to take care of today, not fussy at all, didn’t call for Mommy, and ate a lot of the purées. I’ve noticed lately she seems to have a fondness for carrots."

"It’s all thanks to you, Auntie, you cook so well, the purées you make are perfect for June’s palate." She changed her shoes and handed her the chicken soup, "Auntie, you should have this black chicken soup."

"Oh, I couldn’t possibly accept that."

"It’s fine, please take it." She smiled as she placed the thermal bowl in the auntie’s hands. "I’ll go check on the child."

"Alright, alright." The auntie said, happy, then left after saying goodbye, carrying the thermal bowl away. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

After showering, Rachel poured a glass of warm water and sat by the window, listening to the sound of rain outside, her mind still occupied with thoughts of Chase Fletcher.

It’s thanks to him that I was able to buy this apartment.
