When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 681: Everyone Loves Her
The man lying on the hospital bed showed no reaction, his expression serene.
Eliza Hayes held his hand, "Caleb, I’ll be back in a few days. You must take care and wait for me." She spoke with the gentle smile of a devoted wife.
After a while, she gently placed his hand down, bent over to adjust his blanket, and left a deep, affectionate kiss on his forehead.
She looked at him reluctantly one last time, then turned and left.
She truly was a good mother-in-law, leaving after bidding farewell to Caleb Lancaster.
This was also the first time Eliza Hayes had left since she arrived.
During these days, Adrian Lancaster hadn’t gone to the office either, staying by his wife’s side 24/7.
As her belly grew bigger by the day, Faye Turner’s movements became less agile, and she occasionally had trouble breathing or felt back pain.
There was both anticipation and nervousness for the baby soon to be born.
"Honey, have you considered moving into the hospital now?" Adrian Lancaster loved her very much, and thus, he was worried.
Sensing his anxiety, Faye Turner would always reach out and tap his nose, "Who moves into the hospital ahead of time? Can’t we wait and go when it starts? The baby is in the right position, and we’re not far — we have a car, it’s convenient."
"I just feel that... with a doctor around, I would be more at ease."
Adrian Lancaster, as a first-time father, had shown his nerves and helplessness completely during this period.
"I am a doctor myself."
Faye Turner was quite calm, even though she too was a first-time mother.
However, she had done quite a bit of homework and knew how to breathe and exert force during childbirth to ease the pain.
Moreover, the power of motherly love is infinite and magnificent.
If, after the pain, she could see the baby she had carried for ten months, she felt that no matter how much it hurt, she could bear it.
Let the pain come sooner!
She was full of anticipation.
Soon, a car pulled up in the yard.
Eliza Hayes had arrived, and both of them on the living room sofa stood up when they saw her figure.
"Mom, has there been good news from Dad?"
"Has Dad woken up?"
The young couple asked expectantly.
Eliza Hayes walked towards them with a gentle smile, "Still the same, Dad hasn’t woken up, but the doctor said there are signs of waking, wait a little longer."
She continued, "I came today planning to stay by Faye’s side and accompany her to the hospital to have the baby."
"Thank you, Mom." Faye Turner was very happy, "My mother will come over later too, and she plans to stay a few days to keep me company."
"Really? That’s wonderful!" Eliza Hayes wasn’t bothered at all and instead smiled at her son, "Adrian, did you arrange for someone to pick her up?"
"Yes, yes, yes, she’ll be here soon."
As he said this, another car pulled up in the yard, and everyone looked outside through the floor-to-ceiling window.
They saw the car come to a stop, the door open, and Grandpa stepped out.
He walked quickly inside with the aid of a cane, looking spirited.
"Eliza? You’re here too?"
"Dad."
"Hello, Grandpa."
Everyone greeted the old man, and his concerned gaze fell on his beloved granddaughter-in-law’s large, swollen belly.
"Faye, has the baby not moved yet? The due date is within these two days, right?"
"Yes, Grandpa, just these two days." As Faye Turner said this, she suddenly felt her abdomen tighten.
Not lasting long, but very noticeable.
