When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 642: As Expected
Black Hawk feared neither heaven nor earth; he really wanted to see what they would do.
So, weaponless, he stepped out of the car. ππππ¦ππππππ·ππ.πΈπ°π
Although his expression was calm, inside he was filled with alertness, surveying his surroundings. On one side was a hillside planted with trees, and on the other was a cliff. The road beneath his feet was very rugged, scattered with stones.
After exiting the car, no one went to the restroom, including the driver who closed the car door, and the three of them fixed their gaze on him.
That stare was chilling, but Black Hawk was mentally prepared.
He stood still, looking at the three, sensing that something bad was about to happen.
So, Black Hawk spoke first, "Come on, before you push me off the cliff, there must be something to say, right?"
His relaxed tone, the corners of his lips raised.
It caught Elias Youngβs two subordinates off guard. They exchanged glances, feeling somewhat intimidated and a bit embarrassed when they looked back at Black Hawk.
If they stabbed him in the back, they might succeed; if they openly fought, maybe... they werenβt his match.
Black Hawk remained calm as he asked, "Did Mr. Young not give any instructions?"
"Brother Hawk, since you already sensed it, then... we wonβt do it." One of them spoke, "Donβt make it hard for us, weβre just working for wages. You should just jump!"
"Yeah, Brother Hawk, you jumping alone makes it easier for us to report back."
At this moment, Black Hawkβs heart felt as if it had been pricked by a needle.
He was parentless, putting all his hope on Elias Young, repaying him for every bit of kindness with overflowing gratitude, willing to risk his life for him, and he indeed had done so before.
But in the end... he was just a pawn to be discarded.
Until now, he hadnβt exposed any detrimental information about Elias Young to Adrian Lancaster.
Hence, one should never overestimate their position in someone elseβs heart.
A mountain wind blew, rustling through the leaves.
Black Hawk lifted the corners of his lips in a cold smile, then laughed out loud a few times. He took the initiative, his eyes flaring with a cold light, as he punched towards the men!
The two men realized what was happening, pulled out daggers from their pockets, and stabbed towards him frantically!
Black Hawk instantly felt overwhelmed, and quickly his arm was cut!
Hissβ
Blood gushed out! He furrowed his brows in pain but didnβt stop his movements.
The driver saw this and hurried to join the fight, lifting one of the men from behind and, taking them by surprise, subdued him!
"Brother Vaughn, you..."
The driver viciously kicked him, then swung a punch at the other!
Heβs actually helping Black Hawk!
This left Elias Youngβs two men completely bewildered. The driver kicked again, striking one of them in the abdomen!
With swift reflexes, Black Hawk knocked the dagger out of his opponentβs hand. When he glanced at the driver, he remained vigilant.
Soon, another car arrived, steadily parking behind the first car.
Elias Youngβs two subordinates were left beaten on the ground, injured, while Black Hawk held his bleeding arm as they watched the car door open.
Adrian Lancaster stepped out of the car, his posture upright, exuding authority, his gaze landing on the injured Black Hawk.
Was it him? Black Hawkβs brow furrowed slightly, yet he felt a solid sense of security inside, a feeling he had never experienced in his life.
Adrian Lancaster withdrew his gaze, looking at the driver, stepping forward a couple of strides, then stopping.
"President Lancaster." The driver greeted respectfully.
Black Hawk genuinely did not expect that the driver turned out to be... his man!
After Adrian Lancaster exited the car, his men followed suit, directly controlling the two on the ground.
He didnβt say anything; those two were taken onto Adrian Lancasterβs car, and it quickly drove away.
Soon, another one came by, the car stopped, and the door opened.
"Vaughn, you should get in the car." Adrian Lancaster looked at him mildly, "Iβve arranged everything for you; you canβt stay with Elias Young anymore."
"Okay, President Lancaster." The driver again saluted him and then turned to enter the car. Not long after, it too drove away.
On a small rocky flat, one side was a tree-covered hill, the other a cliff. Elias Youngβs car was parked nearby, as Black Hawk and Adrian Lancaster looked at each other.
