When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 625: New Year’s Eve
Brandon Lancaster felt frustrated; getting scolded during the New Year and the coming year wouldn’t be any better, all thanks to Adrian Lancaster.
He felt that his grandfather was caring less and less about him.
While pouring himself some water to mask his embarrassment, Brandon Lancaster responded to his mother—
"Grandfather said I shouldn’t be thinking about the Prestige Group; as long as he’s alive, that thought should be suppressed."
This was actually meant for Melanie Lancaster to hear, knowing her grandson would pass it on.
So when Melanie heard this, her expression changed slightly, finding it a bit embarrassing, "Did Grandfather say it that directly?"
"Otherwise? Or did I make it up? To protect Adrian Lancaster, we’re all bad people!" He took a sip of water, glancing sideways, "Only he is family, not me!"
Setting down the cup, he was really furious, full of complaints, "Whose child is Adrian Lancaster anyway, it’s really hard to say now!"
This offhand comment from her son seemed to spark new inspiration in Melanie’s mind, like discovering a new world.
She turned her gaze sharply, "..." just staring at him.
Seeing his mother didn’t continue, Brandon also turned his gaze, meeting her eyes, "Wh-what is it? Is there a problem with what I said?"
Their eyes met, and somehow being in sync, he immediately understood his mother’s intentions.
Then, a sly smile appeared on Brandon’s face—
"I get it, let’s exploit this; whether he’s my uncle’s son or not, we’ll insist to the media that he’s not! Anyway, uncle is nowhere to be found now! There’s even a fake one sitting in prison!"
"Calm down first!" Melanie composed herself, retracting her gaze, and weighed it carefully, "Let’s talk after we’re gone."
In any case, this matter must not be pinned on them again, or else the old man won’t even let them stay in the branch company.
Tonight, Elias Young was like an ant on a hot pan after having the family dinner, immediately leaving in his car.
Once out, he called his subordinates urgently instructing, "Make sure to find Black Hawk’s whereabouts and closely monitor Adrian Lancaster’s movements!"
"Yes, Young."
He was convinced that Black Hawk must have fallen into Adrian Lancaster’s hands.
Although there wasn’t a need to worry about anything being leaked initially, the opponent being Adrian Lancaster, couldn’t be taken lightly, so Elias Young was still fearful.
He feared that as Black Hawk spent more time with Adrian Lancaster, his mental defenses would be breached, and he would eventually betray him.
Once Black Hawk betrayed them, Elias Young would be at risk of being captured because Black Hawk knew too much.
Considering these stakes, how could he not be anxious?
At night, in Adrian Lancaster’s high-rise apartment, the property was still under his name.
Chloe Gable had prepared a fruit platter; no one felt sleepy, and they intended to welcome the new year together.
Faye Turner stood with Adrian Lancaster by the window, as the heavy curtains slowly pulled back, the night view across the river was enchanting.
As the clock was about to strike midnight.
Bang—
Fireworks blossomed in the sky, dazzling and splendid, like luxurious tassels unfurling on a black canvas, in myriad colors and forms.
The beautiful radiance seemed to reflect on Faye Turner’s face, revealing a joyful smile, "Wow, it’s so beautiful!"
Chloe Gable and Milo Turner also approached the window, looking at the fireworks outside, feeling astonished.
Adrian Lancaster embraced Faye’s shoulders, kissed her hair, and together they enjoyed the fireworks extravaganza across the river.
Bang!
Bang bang!
One after another, they burst into bloom!
"Which rich guy set these off for his little princess?" Milo Turner took out his phone to quickly record a video, "They’ve never set off fireworks from this location before."
Adrian Lancaster smiled without responding.
