When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 590: The New Year Is Coming
Because she loves him, she can empathize with him, she can understand how much pain and helplessness he feels inside, and even her heart aches along with his.
Faye Turner reached out to gently embrace him, like a docile little cat, and with deep emotion, she said to him, "Adrian, no matter what happens, the baby and I will always be by your side."
He was deeply moved, lowered his head, and placed a deep kiss on his wife’s hair, then closed his eyes for a moment.
As the Lamborghini drove into the Lancaster Family’s courtyard, a joyous sight unfolded before their eyes.
In the courtyard, countless red lanterns were hanging from the ancient camphor tree, swaying gently with the wind.
The servants were very excited and quickly reported to the master— 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Old Master, Madam, they’re back, they’re back! The young master and the young lady have returned!"
Eliza Hayes quickly turned around and went into the kitchen to serve the ginger soup she had been simmering all afternoon.
When Adrian Lancaster walked into the living room with his arm around Faye Turner’s shoulders, she happened to come out of the kitchen, carrying the ginger soup towards the young couple.
"Mom." Adrian Lancaster’s voice was gentle as he greeted his mother before his wife did.
"Oh!" Eliza Hayes couldn’t contain her joy.
"Mom." Faye Turner’s voice was sweet, and the smile on her face was happier than ever before. Her slightly protruding belly was obvious, and she had gained a bit of weight, but it did not affect her appearance at all.
"Oh!" Eliza Hayes responded even louder, this was her happiest New Year in the past 20 years.
Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner walked over to her and reached out to take the bowl from her, the fragrance of the ginger soup wafting towards them from afar.
"It drives away the cold, just drink it like tea!" Their mother had a benevolent face.
"Okay, thank you, Mom."
"Thank you, Mom." Adrian Lancaster also had a smile on his face.
Eliza Hayes’s heart felt as sweet as if it were filled with honey.
Shortly after, grandfather appeared at the corner of the stairs with his cane, "Adrian and Faye are back? It’s really cold outside, why are you dressed so lightly?" He was happy to see them, but also full of concern.
"We had the car’s air conditioning on, and the house has heating too, so we didn’t wear much." Adrian Lancaster smiled warmly, sipping the ginger soup, his teeth gleaming white and his looks becoming more handsome.
Tonight’s dinner was naturally sumptuous and refined.
The dinner atmosphere was incredibly warm, with bursts of laughter and joy cutting through, and the barriers in everyone’s hearts had dissolved.
During the feast, the old man said to everyone, "Melanie’s flight is scheduled for today, and she’s coming home for the New Year as well. Adrian, bring your dad over on New Year’s Eve so that the whole family can celebrate together and take a family photo."
To this day, the old man still believed that the man in the wheelchair was his son.
And he had no idea that the police had already taken him away.
Upon hearing the old man’s words, Eliza Hayes’s back stiffened slightly as she slowly lifted her eyes to observe her son’s reaction.
Even though Adrian Lancaster was young, he had indeed developed the ability to remain calm even when the situation was dire.
He elegantly chewed the beef in his mouth and then silently swallowed it.
Looking up at the old man, he spoke warmly, "Grandfather, the doctor said that right now, Dad is at a critical stage in his treatment and should not see anyone."
"What do you mean by that?" The old man was puzzled, and his tone held a touch of complaint—
"It’s just a family reunion dinner, it’s a tradition in our Lancaster Family. In the past, even when his condition wasn’t good, he would come downstairs for Mid-Autumn Festival. Now that he’s been in treatment, logically he should be improving, so why is he more fragile now?"
"Grandfather." Hearing the old man’s agitation and the doubts he hadn’t yet expressed, Faye Turner quickly spoke up, "Recently, the cold air mass has been particularly strong, and the doctor said Dad shouldn’t be exposed to the slightest bit of wind, otherwise it could worsen his condition. He has been staying in a sterile environment, strictly following the doctor’s treatment plan, so..."
