When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 542: Still Searching for Clues
Grandpa Sloan’s fingers paused slightly as he placed the chess piece, raising his eyes to meet the gaze of the handsome young man.
He realized that Adrian Lancaster hadn’t come without reason; he had a purpose in his visit.
However, the elder was not opposed to it, as Adrian Lancaster had left a particularly good impression on him. Inquiring about his father’s situation showed his filial piety.
"I know this person; he’s also a friend of your father’s," the old man spoke kindly, then withdrew his gaze and placed a chess piece down. "What do you want to know? Feel free to ask."
With this, Adrian Lancaster found himself unsure of how to begin, but he had a hunch that Elias Young had issues.
"Grandpa Sloan, is there any conflict between Elias Young and my father?"
"They used to be friends, but later, it was said that they fell out over a project dispute."
Adrian Lancaster mentioned the car accident again; the old man shared his viewpoint, as speculation cannot reach conclusions without evidence.
However, when it came to past events, Adrian Lancaster could always make his own judgments.
Today is another Sunday.
In search of clues about his father’s car accident, Adrian Lancaster once again left home early in the morning.
Among the photos, those friends once close to his father revealed by the investigation, he hadn’t visited them all yet.
By evening, dinner was already prepared in the villa; Faye Turner sat in the living room waiting for him.
Unsure when he would return.
It might be very late... She was very worried about him.
"Ma’am, would you like to have dinner first?" The butler, worried she might go hungry, paid close attention to her as she was pregnant.
But Faye Turner had no appetite at all, and replied, "Let’s wait a bit longer."
However, this wait extended to three hours, until night fell and a car’s headlights finally shone towards her.
Faye Turner rose and went to the living room door, watching the Lamborghini come to a stop.
Adrian Lancaster stepped out of the car, and upon seeing his wife at the door, hastily suppressed all his emotions.
A gentle smile appeared on his lips as he quickly walked towards her, "Aren’t you cold? Standing at the entrance, come inside quickly!"
"Come on in!" Her warm hands pulled him inside, then she brushed the snow off his shoulders. "Are you cold?"
He shook his head, "You haven’t had dinner yet?"
Adrian Lancaster shook his head, "And you?"
"Waiting for you." Faye Turner led him to the dining room, "Go wash your hands quickly!" Then she turned to serve him rice and soup.
During dinner, she rarely looked up at him, because she could sense his fatigue and sadness.
He always returned home with the utmost gentleness, full of care for her, to avoid making her worry.
Faye Turner didn’t ask him about their progress.
They sat facing each other, and did not discuss work. Faye Turner chatted with him about dishes, coffee, the latest book she read, sharing some golden quotes...
All about having a relaxing time.
She didn’t know what she could do for him, but she would quietly accompany him until he found his father.
Recently, it has been snowing for a week straight.
The entire city was an incredibly beautiful sight—the branches, the rooftops, the streets—wherever one looked, a silent blanket of snow.
Kylie Fletcher’s first scene was shot on a snowy day.
She’s been staying in the crew these days; although she had no acting experience, Adrian Lancaster found her a mentor, practically teaching her hands-on.
She was progressing well, very intuitive—with the scene where she meets the male lead, filmed in the snow.
This beautiful setting, these romantic lines, couldn’t help but make her think of Byron Moss again. She missed him.
