Soon, the doorbell rang.

Adrian Lancaster stepped forward to open the door, looking dashing in his tailored suit. His presence still dazzling, he exuded leadership qualities with every move he made.

The middle-aged woman looked at her son’s back, overwhelmed by a sense of unfamiliarity and distance. It seemed that only she was flooded with emotions while Adrian truly didn’t care at all.

Watching him open the door, the person outside bowed respectfully, "President Lancaster, dinner is ready."

"Bring it up." He changed his mind on the spot, "Madam’s will be placed in the next room, and my wife’s and mine will be served here."

Adrian’s cold commands reached Eliza Hayes’s ears, causing her heart to ache suddenly. Did he not want to eat with his own mother at the restaurant?

After closing the door, Adrian Lancaster turned and entered another room, not even glancing at his mother.

Then came the sound of running water; presumably, he went to shower.

Having been neglected by her son, Eliza Hayes stood alone in the spacious living room. Heartbroken, she had no choice but to leave the room.

When Faye Turner came out, she noticed the absence of mother and son in the living room and was momentarily stunned. Meanwhile, the sound of running water came from the bathroom behind her.

"Yes." The other party nodded, emphasizing, "Madam has checked out and told the front desk not to deliver dinner."

"..." A flicker passed through Adrian Lancaster’s eyes, but he simply looked at him and then took the trolley, "I understand."

Pulling the trolley inside, he casually closed the door.

The conversation at the door also fell into Faye Turner’s ears. She realized instantly that they hadn’t communicated well given time.
