Chapter 472: Chapter 472: This Daughter-in-Law Is Truly Wonderful

Adrian Lancaster’s features were somewhat cool and indifferent, more than shocked by his mother’s change in attitude, he was wary of her.

"Here you go." Faye Turner handed a silver fork in front of him, her voice gentle, her gaze tender, patiently watching him.

Waiting for him to reach out and take it.

The aroma of dumplings filled the air, but Adrian Lancaster looked glum, with no appetite at all.

"Hold it." Faye Turner directly took his hand, placing the fork in it, "Dumplings should be eaten while hot, they’re not as tasty when cold."

Then she looked at the old man on the side, "Grandpa, would you like to try some?"

The old man knew, that day Faye Turner returned and spent 40 minutes in the backyard when giving Nanny Warren herbal medicine, surely she talked with Eliza Hayes.

Because since then, Eliza Hayes had changed. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Grandpa understood, Faye Turner was trying to ease the relationship between mother and son.

Recalling Eliza in the kitchen making dumplings, it didn’t seem like she was up to any mischief, even the dumpling skins were rolled by herself.

If one wanted to poison, some petty actions would suffice, no need for such effort.

Thus, the elder used a spoon to fork a steaming hot big dumpling, dipped it in vinegar, and put it in his mouth.

The full mouth of dumpling fragrance, it was truly delicious.

Eliza Hayes looked at the scene nervously yet gratefully, smiling as she watched the old man chew, softly asking, "How is it? Dad, is the taste okay?"

"Delicious." Grandpa nodded, giving an affirmative reply, "The taste is spot on!"

And extended his thumb in approval, "This self-rolled dumpling skin, it’s really chewy!"

"Adrian, you try some too! Hurry, while it’s hot!" Grandpa chewed while looking at his beloved grandson, wearing a kind smile.

Eliza Hayes sat upright on the side, cautiously directing her expectant gaze at her son.

Faye Turner picked up the fork, skewered a dumpling, and asked, "Adrian, what sauce do you like?" There were three types in front.

She observed that Adrian Lancaster was holding the fork himself and didn’t seem to intend to move, as if he still harbored significant resentment.

Causing his mother to barely dare to breathe.

But seeing his wife’s enthusiasm, he didn’t look at his mother, just pointed at the soy sauce garlic bowl.

Faye Turner was delighted, as he finally had a reaction!

Thus, she dipped the sauce he wanted, feeding the dumpling to his shapely thin lips, "Come on, open up!"

Adrian Lancaster looked into her eyes, sighed inwardly, as he really couldn’t do anything about her, and reluctantly complied.

Seeing her son eat the dumplings she made herself, Eliza Hayes felt a quiet bloom of happiness inside.

Her face, marked with wrinkles, finally showed a genuine smile.

She hadn’t been this happy for a long time, almost tearfully joyful, restraining herself, full of gratitude toward her daughter-in-law.

Then Grandpa tried several more dumplings, really liking the taste.

While eating dumplings, Faye Turner called Eliza Hayes to try them more herself.

"Oh, alright." It was only then she started using her fork, gradually feeling less awkward.

But she remained silent, didn’t speak much.

Expressionless Adrian Lancaster didn’t lift his eyes to look at his mother, feeling stuffy inside, although he began to actively fork dumplings to eat.

Soon, the servant brought over a second plate, happily reporting, "This plate has corn filling, just steamed! Everyone eat while it’s hot! There’s more over there!"

"Thank you." Faye Turner smiled and lifted her gaze, "I feel like we don’t need dinner tonight, Mom’s cooking is so good, these dumplings are really delicious!"

Adrian Lancaster still didn’t speak nor lifted his gaze, chewing carefully, no one knew what he was thinking.

For him, dumplings were an eternal scar...

He could never forget the incident when he was five, burned by a bowl of dumplings, since then losing maternal affection.

But for Eliza Hayes, him willing to eat the dumplings she made was already enough to make her happy.

The easing of the mother-son relationship needs to happen slowly, after all, ice that thick doesn’t form in a day, she’s willing to spend the rest of her life making amends.
