Chapter 244: Chapter 244: Can My Dad’s Illness Still Be Cured?

Dylan Shaw was in a terrible mood. He closed the trunk and was about to leave when Vivian Sawyer grabbed him. "What do you mean by this? Why is your phone turned off? Do you know I’ve been waiting for you all night!"

Dylan’s expression changed abruptly as he shook off her hand. "Don’t bother me, let me calm down for a bit." His attitude was much better compared to how he was at home.

Vivian asked him, "Did you... leave the company?"

Dylan didn’t answer, just sighed, "Vivian, give me some time. Let me find a new job, and then we’ll get back in touch, okay?"

In the lobby, Faye Turner and Adrian Lancaster stood side by side watching the scene, both feeling sorry for Rachel Sherman.

Faye couldn’t help but feel heartache. "Love is the most fleeting thing in this world; promises made are often just nonsense."

Her heart ached because she had personally witnessed the entire process of Dylan Shaw and Rachel Sherman falling in love, it was so beautiful, so well-matched.

Adrian Lancaster replied, "That also depends on the person. Please don’t assume everyone is the same, Mrs. Lancaster."

Upon hearing this, the girl turned her gaze, looking at the man’s handsome face, and couldn’t help but smile.

Adrian Lancaster slightly turned his head, meeting her gaze, "I have to go to a meeting."

"Hmm." She nodded. "Go ahead." Watching his back as he walked away, Faye couldn’t help but think of Sienna Dawson.

Ever since that night when she asked about the girl, Adrian Lancaster seemed like a different person.

Different to the point where she even had an illusion, that this man could accompany her through life’s journey.

When she finally withdrew her gaze, Dylan Shaw’s car was already out of sight, leaving Vivian Sawyer standing there all alone.

Faye wondered, are they going to break up?

In the evening.

In the Lamborghini heading from the company to Aqua Flora Residences.

On the car’s backseat, Faye sat beside Adrian Lancaster, with Mr. Kerr driving.

"Do you have an opinion about my father’s illness?" He turned his gaze towards her, it had been an entire day and she hadn’t brought it up, he’d been thinking about asking several times.

Faye suddenly felt a heavy mood, having had nightmares last night, "Ah, how should I put it?"

"Do you think there’s a chance to cure it?" There was a trace of longing in his seemingly calm tone.

"I have to take a pulse for your father first." The girl turned her gaze, "But given last night’s circumstances, it really wasn’t easy to bring up."

Adrian Lancaster asked straightforwardly, "Then should we go back now?"

Faye was slightly startled, meeting the man’s deep, dark eyes.

Seeing that she didn’t refuse, Adrian Lancaster, anxious to save his father, collected his gaze and told Mr. Kerr, "Mr. Kerr, head back to the old residence!"

"Alright, President Lancaster."

The Lamborghini made a U-turn at a certain intersection ahead, heading towards The Lancaster Family’s old residence.

After her initial panic, Faye slowly calmed down, realizing that some things ultimately needed to be faced.

"But, can we easily see your father?" This was her concern.

"As long as there’s a sliver of hope, shouldn’t we try to treat the illness?" Adrian Lancaster said in a deep voice. "Even if my mother doesn’t allow it, I’ll convince Grandpa. It’s just a pulse check, I don’t believe it can cause much impact."

Faye remained silent, wanting to help him as much as possible without worsening the in-law relationship.

She believed that Mrs. Lancaster’s love for Mr. Lancaster was somewhat obsessive, not allowing anyone to approach, as if just one more look would take him away.

As if anyone who approached would take him away.

When the couple returned to The Lancaster Family, they first found Grandpa Lancaster. Adrian Lancaster explained to Grandpa that he wanted his wife to take his father’s pulse.

He also showed Grandpa the healed wound on his left arm.

"Healed?" This astonished Grandpa.

"Yes." Adrian Lancaster replied, "Grandpa, she studied traditional medicine."

The old man looked at the young girl, both delighted and proud, "Faye, you really are amazing!" He also saw a hint of confidence in the girl’s eyes.
