When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 209: What Punishment Should Be Given?
"Miss Sutton, please go back." The bodyguard said without emotion.
Under the night sky, the elderly man had already entered the living room.
There was no other choice, she had to take the queue-bought pastries and leave by car... feeling particularly disheartened.
Her grandfather simply didn’t believe her. Was Faye Turner some sort of enchantress? Everyone outside had already believed it! How could a complete newcomer gain such trust from her grandfather?
This left Serena Sutton feeling quite helpless.
Even Adrian Lancaster didn’t search for evidence, nor did he clarify to the outside world. Presumably, he also doubted Faye Turner’s creative abilities.
Serena Sutton thought that anyone with at least a bit of common sense wouldn’t trust Faye Turner.
After all, she, Serena Sutton, had works, a history of achievements, and had won awards, whereas Faye Turner, aside from being Mrs. Lancaster, really had nothing!
That night, Faye Turner didn’t know when Adrian Lancaster went to bed. It was too late, so she didn’t wait for him and fell asleep in a daze.
Early the next morning.
In the Lamborghini heading to the company, she sat beside him, while the news of Mrs. Lancaster’s plagiarism was still trending.
She glanced at him several times, "You... what were you doing last night? You slept very late, right?"
Adrian Lancaster replied, "I found evidence of Serena Sutton plagiarizing you, a surveillance video of her passing by your workstation, and traces of data modification on her computer."
Upon hearing this, Faye Turner was undoubtedly happy because he believed her!
"So, Mrs. Lancaster." The man glanced sideways, raising an eyebrow to ask, "How do you wish for me to deal with her then?"
Faye Turner had never considered this question because, in her view, Adrian’s trust was already a satisfactory answer.
"I... I don’t know, you decide for yourself." She retracted her gaze and smiled as she looked out the window.
Adrian Lancaster looked at the girl’s profile, and he too fell silent.
To restore her justice, he had actually stayed up all night, which Adrian Lancaster found quite absurd even thinking about it.
At some point, this girl seemed to have gradually occupied his heart, squeezing Sienna out.
Thinking of Sienna, in his memory, she seemed to have become a vague silhouette.
Eight o’clock in the morning.
The simple and elegant president’s office.
Adrian Lancaster said to Dustin Shepherd, who had just entered, "Call Serena Sutton over, then arrange for reporters to be in the lounge downstairs. At ten in the morning, hold a press conference on time."
"Yes." Dustin Shepherd put down the document in his hand, turned around, and left.
He knew that President Lancaster must have found something to clear Faye Turner’s name. As expected, couples are inherently tied, and President Lancaster wouldn’t just stand by.
Even if he didn’t care about his wife, he had to care about the company’s reputation, right?
Serena Sutton followed Dustin Shepherd into the elevator, a bit uneasy deep down, since she had been the thief, "Assistant Shepherd, what does President Lancaster want with me?"
"Not sure." Dustin Shepherd really didn’t have a pleasant face towards her, but he couldn’t give her a good scolding without reason, because justice is in people’s hearts.
Serena Sutton didn’t dare ask further, but she already had an ominous premonition in her heart.
She told herself that as long as she insisted she didn’t plagiarize, even Adrian Lancaster couldn’t do anything to her.
When she entered the president’s office, Serena Sutton politely knocked on the door, wearing a confident smile, "Adrian, you were looking for me?"
Adrian Lancaster felt disgusted hearing that term, "Are you a chicken? Calling ’brother, brother’ all day, going to lay eggs or something?"
That left her feeling awkward!
Standing firm in front of his desk, her face turned red and then white, "What do you mean? She copied my work, but she’s not considered plagiarizing? And you give her a joint first place?!"
"Are you questioning me?" Adrian Lancaster’s voice carried an icy aura.
Serena Sutton immediately sobered up, unwilling to concede, "I dare not, I just feel it’s unfair."
"Then in your opinion, how should a plagiarist be punished?" Adrian Lancaster leaned back slightly in his chair, inquiring with great interest.
This made Serena Sutton’s eyes light up, "Do I get to decide?"
