When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 200: The Judging Results Are About to Be Announced
After dinner, Adrian Lancaster went into the study as usual.
He made phone calls to discuss projects, replied to emails, reviewed materials... He was always racing against time, full of energy, putting almost all his time into work.
Faye Turner was preparing medication for him.
"Madam, do you need any help?" Mrs. Rhodes saw how hard she was working and came over to ask.
The girl smiled and shook her head, "No need, I’ll be done soon. You can go rest."
"Alright, then call me if you need anything. I’m at your service anytime."
Faye gave her a small smile, "Okay." Then she watched Mrs. Rhodes leave and continued to prepare the ointment for him.
She wasn’t sure what she was thinking, she just wanted from the heart to be good to him.
After preparing the ointment, Faye knocked on the open study door as usual.
The man sitting at the desk looked up and saw the girl holding the medicine bowl. He didn’t speak; his expression was calm and composed as she walked towards him.
Adrian Lancaster looked up with his eyes; his hands were typing on the keyboard. She placed the medicine bowl gently on the desk, looking down at him with a calm gaze.
Only when he voluntarily raised his left hand did she bend over to undo his wrist cuff and gently roll up his sleeve.
Five minutes later, the ointment was applied, and no scars were almost visible.
Gathering all her courage, she proactively softened, "Shall we... make up?"
The man was slightly stunned, looking up at her.
Faye said to him, "We can get along like friends, but let’s not act like strangers. It really makes me feel awkward."
Adrian Lancaster said to her, "From now on, don’t mention Sienna Dawson, because there’s no comparison between you and her."
Faye was slightly stunned, watching him close the laptop and walk away, she couldn’t help but feel puzzled.
His words... why did they sound like resentment?
Towards that Miss Dawson??
Adrian Lancaster left, and Faye thought about it, feeling quite happy. She thought, okay, then I just won’t mention her. Never will mention her!
Tonight, as usual, she lay beside him and felt secure like before.
Perhaps she really had fallen for him; as long as he was a bit nicer to her, she’d be overjoyed.
And recently, Adrian Lancaster had been more restrained with her, understanding that she was in early pregnancy and that the child wasn’t completely stable yet.
The next morning.
As soon as all the designers entered the office, they quickly prepared, filled with excitement, heading to a large upscale conference room in the company.
The review results for the "Eternal Moment" series were coming out today; everyone discussed until late last night.
Name tags were laid out at the judges’ seats, but the bigwigs hadn’t arrived yet.
Jamil and Minnie would be there, along with a few internationally renowned designers who were previously unknown members of the judging panel.
The specifications were higher than imagined.
The conference room was large, with a whole piece of hand-made red carpet, and sunlight flooded in through the entire floor-to-ceiling windows.
The equipment was advanced, with the presentation screen covering the entire wall.
The conference room door was open, people came in one after another, Jake had a new nose piercing today, and his originally yellow hair seemed even yellower, perhaps due to the sunlight.
Faye Turner came in and sat next to Jake.
She looked very calm, not particularly concerned about the review results.
"Mrs. Lancaster, you don’t seem nervous at all, do you?" Jake turned and teased her on purpose.
Faye glanced sideways at him, knowing he called her Mrs. Lancaster on purpose.
With just one look, Jake quickly corrected himself, "Don’t be mad, well, you are Mrs. Lancaster, Miss Talia." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"What exactly are you trying to say?"
"I wanted to ask if you’re the predetermined champion?" Jake whispered to her, "After all, this is the workplace, and there’s no such thing as fairness here."
Faye, however, grinned and said, "I’ll let my work speak for me. If I do win, it’s because my work is the best, and the judges aren’t blind."
At this moment, Serena Sutton stepped in wearing high heels. She walked with confidence, radiating energy, casually flicking her long wavy hair and sat assuredly in her seat.
Then she started touching up her makeup, examining herself with her makeup mirror.
Gradually, colleagues all arrived, and the seats with name tags were filled.
Nancy Jennings was also there.
No one had seen each other’s design works for this round, so no one was sure who would win.
"Serena Sutton is undoubtedly the strongest, but we don’t know how she performed this time." People whispered, convinced she was the champion.
