The Best Actor Insists On Living With Me!-Chapter 1791 - 1781: Not a Good Day to Travel (2)
Bo Yan’s voice was a bit hoarse and tired, very quiet, and he tried not to get close to the crowd. He said, "There’s no way. Just before takeoff, they did an inspection and found a small fault on the left wing of the plane that needs repair, so they canceled the flight temporarily."
The flight was canceled at the last minute, but it’s not like he can’t come back. Xia Siyu immediately asked, "Then quickly book the next flight."
Bo Yan gave a bitter smile, "That’s the key point. Because of the earlier fog, a lot of flights were canceled, and the passengers stuck at the airport can only book later ones. I just had Song Fengzhi check the flight info, and there’s only one seat left for the Yancheng flight at nine in the evening. It’s an economy class seat. So, I have to come back by myself."
Great, suddenly it’s already reached the early hours. Xia Siyu was speechless, "What about the high-speed rail?"
Bo Yan said, "It takes about one and a half to two hours to drive from the airport to the high-speed rail station. It’s one in the afternoon now, so I can only buy tickets for after four in the afternoon. The time to get to Yancheng is about the same as by plane."
Xia Siyu made a decisive decision, "Take the high-speed rail. At least it won’t be delayed. What if you run into all sorts of problems with the plane again?"
Bo Yan was also decisive, "Okay, I’ll head to the high-speed rail station right now."
Xia Siyu said, "Just in case, book that evening flight too. Make sure you can get home today."
Normally, she wouldn’t insist on Bo Yan coming back, but this time was different. They had been apart for half a year and in different countries, it was really far.
Bo Yan went to buy a ticket and headed to the high-speed rail station. But as he was on the road, Xia Siyu, alone in the house, suddenly felt very bored.
And she was hungry. She regretted not accepting the meal invitation from the client earlier. Now it was one o’clock, and if she ordered takeout, she’d have to wait another hour before she could eat.
But she couldn’t cook at all, and after being with Bo Yan, she’d become reliant on him. Even though Bo Yan’s cooking wasn’t at a chef’s level, it was more than enough for her.
There were ingredients at home, but she couldn’t handle the steps from turning those raw materials into steaming dishes. After thinking about it, she turned to the simplest food: instant noodles.
She was supposed to be having a feast at home, enjoying the world of just the two of them, but now she could only eat instant noodles alone. And when she checked the date, it was half a month expired.
Following the belief that a little dirt won’t kill you, she ate the expired instant noodles.
Luckily, she didn’t feel any different after eating. But after finishing the noodles, she felt a bit sleepy and slouched on the sofa, browsing her phone until she dozed off.
After all, she had been practicing every day; if she didn’t practice, she had to fly around for business. Just like last night, she actually got back at one in the morning, washed off her makeup, freshened up, and when she finally rested, it was already two. Then she got up at six-thirty in the morning, meaning she only slept for four hours. When she was working, tightening her nerves, though tired, it wasn’t unbearable. But now that she relaxed, her whole body just collapsed.
But when Xia Siyu woke up again, it was already dark outside. She checked the clock, it was seven o’clock.
She took out her phone and saw several missed calls from Bo Yan. Then there were messages: He boarded the high-speed rail at 3:40, and the journey was six hours and ten minutes, so he’d arrive in Yancheng around ten. After reaching Yancheng, it would still take an hour by car to get back.
So it would already be eleven at night. Bo Yan specifically said, "Don’t wait up. If you’re tired, go to sleep first, eat something. Your meal schedule is too irregular, it’s bad for your stomach."
He still had a few things he didn’t mention. When he bought the high-speed rail ticket, the business and first class seats were long gone, so he could only get a second-class seat. Before getting on the train, he had to pull down his mask for facial verification and was almost recognized.
Since there was only one ticket, Song Fengzhi didn’t go with him; he had to return alone.
Going home felt like an absurd journey similar to traveling during the Spring Festival rush.
Xia Siyu rubbed her stomach; dinner was indeed an issue, but with no more expired instant noodles, she could only order takeout. When the takeout arrived, she drearily ate a table full of dishes by herself.
Bored with nothing else to do, she simply tidied up the house. She brushed her teeth, took a shower, and after her hair was dry and her skincare routine was finished, Bo Yan still wasn’t back.
Xia Siyu couldn’t hold back anymore. She checked the time, ten-thirty, "Have you arrived?"
Bo Yan was honestly speechless. "You and your mouth, really something. I didn’t check the almanac before going out, and now I’m stuck in traffic. There’s an accident up ahead, several cars rear-ended, and one got hit pretty badly; even an ambulance was called."
Who would have thought there’d still be a traffic jam at ten at night?
But stuck in traffic, what can you do? There’s nothing to be done except wait for the cars ahead to clear. At this hour, even the subway has stopped running. Wanting to go home, he could only obediently wait in the car.
Xia Siyu was annoyed, "I’m going to sleep."
Bo Yan chuckled wryly, "Go ahead, rest early."
Xia Siyu really did go to bed. She was exceptionally good at sleeping; during her low period at home back in the day, she averaged ten to twelve hours a day. Last night she hadn’t slept enough, and an afternoon nap wasn’t enough to recover.
Initially, it was a bit of a stand-off, but after scrolling on her phone at the bedside for a while, her eyelids were fighting against her, and she really did fall asleep.
And they do say Xia Siyu’s mouth must be blessed or something, for she mentioned it wasn’t suitable for travel that day, and indeed the road cleared immediately past midnight.
After that, it only took fifteen minutes of driving. After fifteen minutes, Bo Yan reached home, and the lights were still on in the house. Xia Siyu had specially left part of the dinner for him, afraid he hadn’t eaten on the road.
Today was truly a hard day for him, getting up at four in the morning and now into early morning the next day, he’d been wandering outside for twenty straight hours, completely exhausted. But, upon coming home, pushing open the bedroom door, seeing Xia Siyu sprawled out, sleeping soundly, somehow all his fatigue seemed to vanish in an instant.
Bo Yan didn’t disturb her, quietly preparing to wash up. Just as he turned around, he heard Xia Siyu mumble, "Bo Yan."
He turned back, realizing this sleepyhead wasn’t even awake, just talking in her sleep. But in her dream, she seemed to kick her legs and mumble with a pout, "Big jerk."
Bo Yan chuckled quietly. This little rascal, over these past few years on the outside, had indeed made progress. Be it in acting or handling people and affairs, she wasn’t as naive as before. Yet, apart from all this, she hadn’t changed, still the same old Xia Siyu.
Yet, looking at her face, Bo Yan’s eyes softened. He chuckled quietly. This little rascal had indeed improved over these years. Be it in acting or dealing with people and things, she was no longer as naive as before. But, apart from these, she was still the same old Xia Siyu.
But, looking at her face, Bo Yan’s eyes softened.
