When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 192: A Gift for the Baby
After switching to this newly developed medication, Adrian Lancaster’s arm healed remarkably fast, so much so that if you didn’t look closely, you wouldn’t be able to tell he’d ever had a severe injury.
As a result, he gained more trust in Faye Turner’s medical skills. Although she wasn’t a professional doctor, her medical expertise was in no way inferior to those of the doctors.
"If you see my father, would you be able to roughly judge his condition?"
As she finished applying the medicine and gently let down his sleeve, Adrian Lancaster spoke softly.
Faye knew he was very worried about his father.
"I’ve never formally treated anyone, but I’ve seen my mentor cure many patients." She stood still, gazing at him intently, "You’re my first patient. Thank you for trusting me." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
Adrian Lancaster’s heart felt a chill upon hearing this.
She could handle these superficial injuries just fine. At worst, there’d be no effect, and it wouldn’t get worse.
But his father’s situation was different.
Should he really let her try to treat his father’s illness?
Actually, there was a certain risk, and his mother’s concerns were not unfounded. Adrian Lancaster felt conflicted inside.
"Hey, do you want to take a look at my design work?" The girl changed the subject, not wanting to see him so troubled.
Adrian Lancaster paused and said, "Bring it over."
With his permission, Faye quickly turned around with the medicine bowl and left, returning shortly with the design drafts.
Adrian Lancaster pushed his computer aside and reached out to take the drafts she handed over.
To be honest, the quality surprised him a bit.
Creative, instantly striking, and the more you looked, the more it grew on you.
"No matter how good the drawing is, if the craftsmanship is lacking, it won’t achieve the desired effect." Faye remarked casually.
The man frowned, lifting his chin slightly, "Are you questioning my company’s capabilities?"
"No, no, no...!" She realized what she had implied, chuckling awkwardly, "I was just saying!"
Adrian Lancaster withdrew his gaze and started examining the drafts one by one, "Not bad drawings, you’ve got some artistic talent."
To her, his words amounted to high praise.
"This is a series, and these three necklaces are respectively designed for a father, a mother, and a child," Faye explained.
Adrian Lancaster once again carefully and seriously examined the three illustrations.
The father’s design was generally grand, with beads hanging under half of the neckpiece, which then split into two rows of small beads, and the pendant connected to a delicate dragon, symbolizing a uniquely masculine charm.
The mother’s design featured all beads, but the dragon was replaced with a beautifully crafted green butterfly, with even the lines of the butterfly’s tail meticulously detailed.
The child’s design had a forked butterfly, with the tail replaced by a cute tassel style, making it more delicate and compact.
Adrian Lancaster raised his gaze to look at her.
Faye told him, "I want to use the emerald my grandfather gave me for this. Whether or not it gets selected, it’s a gift for the baby. What do you think?"
Adrian Lancaster wasn’t exactly touched, nor did he object; he simply returned the design drafts to her.
Faye took them back, gazing at him intently, "Is it not okay?"
"It’s up to you." He closed his laptop and walked toward the window, "Since your grandfather gave it to you, you can do whatever you want with it."
For some reason, was he displeased? His voice turned a bit cold.
Faye had no idea what she had done to upset him, but she left with the design drafts.
Today was Saturday.
After leaving The Lockwood Old Manor, Serena Sutton went home and began to revise her design drafts as well. The more she looked, the more dissatisfied she was with her work.
The image of Faye’s computer screen she inadvertently saw that day at her workstation flashed through her mind...
The outline of that necklace became clearer and clearer before her eyes...
