Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Deep Sisterly Bond

"Faye, you don’t need to worry about me." Rachel Sherman masked her sadness with the brightest smile, "I’ll find a job first, this will strengthen my case for fighting for June’s custody."

"Did he ever lay hands on you later?" Faye Turner asked nervously, terrified her friend might endure physical pain.

Rachel shook her head, "No, but he cheated." The girl’s heart sank as she spoke.

It felt like a bombshell to Faye!

"How long have you been married? Dylan Shaw already cheated?" Faye was furious, "That bastard! I swear I’ll skin him alive myself!"

Rachel was calm, perhaps after the hysteria, her heart felt dead. She picked up a fork and tasted the dessert, "Is this new? It tastes pretty good."

"Who’s the other woman?" Faye asked, "Was it a fling or true feelings involved?"

Faced with her friend’s inquiry, Rachel paused her dessert-tasting for a moment, then looked up and said, "It’s not important anymore."

"..." Her attitude made Faye feel incredibly sad.

Rachel forced a bitter smile, took a sip of milk, "When I found two movie tickets in his pocket, I wasn’t very angry; instead, it perfectly explained his behavior towards me recently."

"He frequently liked a woman’s social media posts, and consistently, it was obvious he’d specifically go to her page to see her."

"He continued to use work as an excuse for coming home late, started using skincare products, and cared about his appearance."

"How did he explain this?" Faye found this kind of man terrifying, such a change right after getting promoted!

"I didn’t confront him; I don’t need an explanation." Rachel understood things clearly, "Trust is like a piece of paper; once crumpled, it can’t be smoothed out. I don’t want to live every day of my future in lies, so I choose to free myself."

Listening to this, Faye felt sad, heartbroken, but also admiring, "Rachel, no matter what choices you make, I’ll be your strongest support! Let’s first fight for custody, and if necessary, I’ll help you take care of June together!"

"Alright!" Rachel’s smile deepened on her lips, but the sadness inside her heart was something no one could truly empathize with.

Then Faye raised her glass and gently clinked it against Rachel’s.

"Enough about me, let’s talk about you." Rachel smiled and her gaze fell on Faye’s face, "Your flash marriage husband is President Lancaster? How did this happen? How did you meet?"

"It’s a long story, but indeed, it’s fate." Faye thought of Adrian Lancaster; she didn’t dare say much, considering his different status.

In Rachel’s broken marriage, Faye never advised reconciliation, but constantly gave encouragement and expressed willingness to help her take care of the child.

When leaving, the sisters hugged each other tightly.

Upon leaving The Fairy Tale Nook, Faye took some new items from the shop for Adrian Lancaster, including sleep-aiding sakura lychee cake.

She took a cab back to Aqua Flora Residences, and Adrian Lancaster happened to be home.

After delivering the small cake to his study, she left.

Adrian Lancaster watched her depart, his gaze lingering until she disappeared from sight, only then shifting focus to the cake. Hadn’t she said anything?

Back in her study, Faye immersed herself in design, refining the final revisions of her draft, with which she was very satisfied.

Adrian Lancaster was in a video meeting, possessing a calm and wisdom far beyond his years.

Four hours later, the open study door was knocked.

Adrian Lancaster looked up to see Faye entering with a bowl of medicine, "Time to change the medicine." She noted half the cake on the desk had been eaten and was quite pleased, "How does it taste?"

Normally, men don’t eat sweets.

"It’s alright." He didn’t offer any compliments, extending his left hand as usual.
