When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 185: The Lancaster Family Has a Secret
Melanie Lancaster asked pointedly, "Do you think they look like a couple?"
The girl shook her head, her thoughts drifting farther and farther away, continuously shaking her head, "No, not at all."
"Serena, don’t rush things. You share the office with Faye Turner. You need to find the cracks and figure out where the real problem lies," Melanie Lancaster advised, "Maybe she just won over Grandpa, and this is something you can achieve too!"
Upon hearing this, Serena Sutton seemed to have found a breakthrough!
"Aunt, I understand what you mean! As long as I win over Grandpa, I can win over Adrian? Is that what you mean?"
"Yes." Melanie Lancaster smiled, speaking clearly, "In this world, the person Adrian Lancaster cares most about is his grandfather, more than his own life."
"So, Faye Turner just used this trickery?"
"That’s unclear; you need to investigate."
"Don’t worry, Aunt! I’ll definitely find out where the problem lies!" Serena Sutton’s eyes flickered with a cold determination, "What’s mine, I’ll take back! No one can take it away!"
At this moment, with her aunt’s support, she forgot how Adrian Lancaster had warned her.
The middle-aged woman was very pleased with her sharp wit, taking out a document from her bag and handing it over, "Here you go, take a close look when you have time."
"What’s this?" the girl asked, reaching out to take it and quickly opening it, then a burst of joy, "Adrian’s preferences?"
Melanie Lancaster smiled while sipping coffee, admiring the girl’s radiant smile across from her.
She thought, if one day Serena became Mrs. Lancaster, wouldn’t it be easy to defeat Adrian Lancaster?
This girl was too easy to manipulate.
The Lancaster Family’s grand old mansion was brightly lit.
When Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner returned to the living room after their walk, Grandpa said to them, "Adrian, why don’t you take Faye upstairs to rest? Your room is tidied every day, even though you haven’t stayed here for a long time. If there’s anything you need, let the butler know."
Adrian Lancaster nodded and started heading upstairs.
"Goodnight, Grandpa." Faye Turner said softly and gently, smiling and waving at the old man before turning to follow the man upstairs.
In a bedroom on the second floor, in the backyard.
Eliza Hayes changed into pajamas, her face extremely cold, as if the blood in her veins was icy.
She seemed devoid of emotions like happiness or joy.
The door opened, and Nanny Warren came in with a glass of warm milk to aid sleep, placing it lightly on the bedside table as usual.
"Did they stay?" Eliza Hayes was still making a final confirmation.
Nanny Warren turned and respectfully lowered her eyes, "Yes, Ma’am, the young master and Miss Turner have already gone upstairs."
Eliza Hayes thought to herself, it would be best if they leave first thing in the morning.
After a while, she said coldly, "You know what Adrian Lancaster told me tonight?"
Nanny Warren was slightly startled, slowly raising her eyes.
"He said this woman is an herbalist, capable of curing his father’s illness." Eliza Hayes laughed, but her smile was chilling.
This made Nanny Warren’s heart skip a beat!
"Ma’am, Miss Turner is the granddaughter-in-law chosen by the old master, and she’s pregnant now, you need to stay calm!"
"As long as she remains calm enough, I will stay calm." Eliza Hayes turned her gaze, speaking coldly, "But if she dares meddle, then her fate is her own choice, it’s not my concern."
"Why not let her give it a try?" Nanny Warren suggested, "If she can’t cure him, she won’t be an obstacle to you anymore, she’ll back off."
But Eliza Hayes recalled the wound on Adrian Lancaster’s arm, and she was apprehensive about that Faye Turner girl.
Perhaps, she genuinely knows medicine.
"I won’t let anyone close to him." Eliza Hayes said firmly, "I won’t let him catch any germs from anyone!"
Her lips curled into a smirk as she sighed, laughing devilishly, "His illness is clearly incurable. I just want him to spend his remaining days with dignity."
Nanny Warren could only say, "You should rest early." After saying this, she turned and left.
Nanny Warren’s mood was incredibly heavy, this house... would it ever be peaceful? How could she prevent it?
