When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 167: Protective Husband
Because in her understanding, Faye Turner was a complete newbie, so her design skills were naturally quite poor!
But unexpectedly, her work was actually so impressive?
Serena Sutton had a great memory; she had just glanced at other people’s works and thought they were quite ordinary, at least below her level.
So, she was dismissive.
But when it came to Faye Turner...
In the evening, as Faye was passing by Nancy Jennings’s office, Nancy called her, "Faye, can you help me deliver a document to the president’s office?"
"To get a signature?"
"Yes."
"Director..."
"I’m begging you, this is very urgent!"
"..."
"It was originally last week’s order, which I accidentally overlooked. I’ve been so busy. You’re the most suitable to go now. Ask Assistant Shepherd to help you out; he’ll make an exception for you, please!" Nancy pleaded, convinced that they had a good relationship.
Faye wanted to refuse, but refusal was not an option.
Because Nancy got up and shoved the document into her hands, "Hurry up and come back! I’ll leave the good opportunities to you in the future!" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Faye, holding the document, was pushed out of the office by Nancy and had no choice but to go reluctantly.
She just pressed the elevator door open button, and the door opened.
Standing inside with hands in pockets was Adrian Lancaster, looking dignified and imposing. Their eyes met.
He hadn’t expected to see her here.
The door was opened by her, and he didn’t seem to plan on stepping out.
So Faye snapped back to reality and hurriedly stepped inside.
Turning around and standing next to Adrian Lancaster, she saw the number 22 lit up, so she pressed the close-door button.
Seeing her holding a document and not pressing another floor, Adrian figured she was probably going to see him.
Proud as he was, he still hadn’t apologized for what happened last night.
And Faye, using the new phone he bought, hadn’t thanked him.
She planned to give the document to Dustin Shepherd to coordinate with him, but somehow she didn’t know how to start the conversation with him.
Since she didn’t start, neither did the proud President Lancaster, creating a bit of a stalemate atmosphere.
Finally, the elevator stopped at the 22nd floor, and the door opened.
Adrian Lancaster stepped out without looking back, proud as ever.
Faye had to follow behind him, still thinking about finding Dustin Shepherd.
However, when she got there, she realized Dustin wasn’t there!! Faye was at a loss.
Adrian stood in the president’s office, watching the girl with the document, hesitant at the door.
"Dustin is on leave, who are you looking for?" He spoke, his tone detached and aloof, precise and formal.
Faye hesitated for a few seconds, then bravely stepped in, stopping in front of him, handing the document with both hands, "Director Jennings asked me to get your signature on this."
Adrian reached out to take it, his indifferent gaze steady on the girl’s anxious face.
Adrian Lancaster slightly parted his thin lips, "I can sign, but she should come up to get it herself." He hadn’t even looked at what the document was.
Faye nodded and quickly turned to leave.
She thought he might apologize for yesterday’s matter since there was no one else around.
But he didn’t.
She herself still felt incredibly guilty! Damn it, after all this time, why couldn’t she ignore his presence?!
After Faye went downstairs, she delivered the message.
When Nancy Jennings arrived at the president’s office, she was extremely nervous.
"P-President." Greeting him, even as a director, she didn’t dare to lift her head.
Adrian Lancaster’s expression wasn’t great, but he still handed the signed document to her.
Nancy reached out to take the document, seeing the president’s signature on it, her unease persisted, not even daring to take a deep breath, let alone leave.
Adrian Lancaster sat in his office chair, his gaze fixed on Nancy, who was meeting the president’s eyes for the first time, not as an honor, but truly intimidated.
"In the future, don’t send Faye over to sign documents," Adrian said plainly, directly expressing his displeasure.
