When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 156: Caught Red-Handed
The doctor wasn’t mocking her; there was a hint of sympathy in his sternness—
"Your endometrial lining is so thin that it’s practically malnourished. It’s like being a normal person but not giving you food. Can you survive?"
The girl was filled with regret and began to cry bitterly—
She probably had too many boyfriends before, most of them irresponsible and only seeking temporary fun, and she was a fool for love herself...
"Doctor, can this be cured?" The girl was also terrified.
Dr. Aiken started writing a prescription, not lifting his head, "If you’re asking like that, then no, it can’t be cured. You can leave."
Damn!
So hard to talk to??
Faye Turner, standing behind her, broke into a cold sweat. He was so good at clapping back. She wondered how to approach buying just one medicine later?
With his kind of personality, would he even sell it???
"Okay, doctor, I trust you, I’ll follow your advice..." The girl spoke softly, feeling anxious, but also full of expectation as she awaited his prescription, not daring to say anything more.
After about five or six minutes, the girl paid the money, took the medicine from the doctor’s hand, bowed to thank him, and then turned away with a middle-aged woman.
Faye Turner was now first in line.
"Give me your hand." The doctor said while tidying up the desk, not looking at her.
"Hello, doctor, I’ve come here because of your reputation. I’m in good health, not here for a consultation, I just want to buy a herb from you called Cistanche. Do you have it?" The girl’s voice was gentle, accompanied by a sincere smile.
Dr. Aiken assessed her with a scrutinizing look, "It’s for boosting kidney health and vitality, what do you need it for?"
The crowd behind her caused quite a stir, making Faye feel rather embarrassed.
But she still smiled and said—
"That’s just one of its effects. It also helps regulate the body’s circulatory system, significantly enhancing the body’s ability to eliminate free radicals, which has excellent effects on alleviating aging and beautifying the skin."
Dr. Aiken judged from her confident speech that she understood medicine, "What do you need it for?"
"To mix a medicine." Faye knew she couldn’t fool him, so she truthfully explained the situation but replaced Adrian Lancaster’s name with her own brother.
An old burn, and could she really cure it?
Dr. Aiken felt as if he’d met a kindred spirit because he had also researched this area, but the effects weren’t as pronounced as she described.
But her formula did open up new possibilities for him.
Despite how young this girl was, Dr. Aiken did not doubt her, because this formula was correct.
"Dr. Aiken, could you sell me this herb?" Faye’s eyes were filled with sincerity.
"Sure."
"Thank you very much."
Having not hit a wall, after paying and receiving the medication, Faye felt extremely happy.
When she turned around, she happened to run into Grandpa Lancaster from a distance.
Before she could speak, Grandpa Lancaster saw her and quickly turned to leave! As if he was caught doing something guilty.
"Grandpa!!" Faye quickly chased after him, "Grandpa!!" She thought she might have seen wrong.
The old man, leaning on his cane, couldn’t walk fast, and knowing she caught up, had to stop and compose himself before turning to her once more, "Faye, is that you, Faye?"
"Grandpa, what are you doing? Why did you run when you saw me?" Faye held his arm and looked at him with a smile, not overthinking it.
"Faye, what a coincidence that we’re meeting here..." The old man had a kind and gentle smile.
"That’s right, what are you doing here?" Faye blurted out, suddenly recalling the pregnancy medicine he had sent over last night. Could it have been prescribed by Dr. Aiken?
