When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster-Chapter 103: President Lancaster Performed Admirably
Ivy Jennings is also a smart woman; she naturally picked up on his meaning.
She was immediately embarrassed but still smiled and explained, "Because the forecast said it wouldn’t rain today, so I thought the temperature would rise a bit."
Adrian Lancaster didn’t expose her; he knew Ivy’s feelings for him. So, as a married man, he had to avoid any misunderstandings and couldn’t leave her with any lingering thoughts.
Actually, Faye Turner went out early this morning too.
She was looking for spider webs glistening with dew, not only under the eaves but even in the grass.
She observed them closely and appreciated them genuinely, even taking photos.
Those varied sizes of water droplets, crystal clear like strings of pearls. Some spider webs weren’t complete, causing each ’necklace’ to have a different shape.
Actually, our lives are like webs spun by spiders, each of us being a tiny, insignificant spider striving to weave a brilliant dream for ourselves.
Faye wandered around alone and was on her way back to the guesthouse when she unintentionally saw a large patterned snake slither from the grass beside her foot.
"Ah!!"
She screamed and ran forward, only to bump into a solid chest and look up to find a familiar face!
Turning back, the snake was crawling this way, arrogantly flicking its tongue.
"Ah! Adrian Lancaster! I’m scared!"
She was scared out of her wits and jumped directly onto the man, clinging to him like an octopus.
Almost instinctively, Adrian Lancaster held her, his large palms firmly supporting her buttocks.
Faye clutched his neck, too scared to open her eyes!
Yet she felt full of safety and didn’t turn back to look, "Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!" she urged.
Opening her eyes, she met Ivy Jennings’s cold and displeased, disgusted gaze.
Faye couldn’t care about anything else; she had feared snakes since childhood but stopped making a fuss as her mind went blank.
Adrian Lancaster stared heavily at the snake, holding her as he turned and stepped away.
Seeing the large patterned snake crawling this way, Ivy Jennings hurriedly moved closer to Adrian Lancaster, following closely beside him.
She was also very scared, her heart hanging high, but she didn’t even dare to hold the president’s arm.
While Ivy was filled with jealousy toward Faye, fiercely glaring at her with cold eyes, she inadvertently noticed the ring on Faye’s finger!
It was exactly the same as the one on the president’s ring finger!!
Once they entered the guesthouse’s backyard gate, the snake had long disappeared without a trace.
Ivy stopped and stared dumbfounded at the man carrying the girl away... All her myriad questions were answered in an instant.
Was the ring she found at the company restroom entrance on the 11th floor that day actually Faye’s??
Not far ahead, Adrian Lancaster stopped and released the hand supporting Faye’s buttocks.
Faye clung even more tightly to him, using all her strength, truly shaken by fear.
"Get down," the man opened his lips faintly, his voice lacking warmth, "The snake has long run far away."
Only then did the girl let out a breath, loosen her grip, and jump down from him.
She once again unintentionally met Ivy’s gaze, feeling a bit flustered. Doesn’t this reveal her identity as Mrs. Lancaster?
Adrian Lancaster turned, letting his clear gaze fall on Ivy Jennings.
Ivy stepped forward, her gaze fixed on Faye’s ring-wearing finger. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
She dearly hoped she was just seeing things!
However, reality is always cruel.
This scene, to her, was undoubtedly the most devastating blow!
Following her gaze, Faye awkwardly withdrew her hand, and Adrian Lancaster, knowing this couldn’t be hidden, reached out to hug Faye’s shoulder, startling her into looking at him.
He candidly said, "Ivy, let me reintroduce you. This is my wife, Faye."
