Sheng Jiayu had been so busy with the book café that she hadn’t realized how long it had been since she thought about someone named "Xin Ke".
Finally, things quieted down a bit. The store renovation was complete, and staff were mostly hired. Sheng Jiayu finally took a break.
It was the weekend, and Xue Lu invited her to go shopping. They agreed to meet at the mall, had lunch on the top floor, and then started shopping from the top down.
Xue Lu’s family was average, and Chen Xueli came from a humble background. However, both were exceptionally talented and hardworking. During their early startup days, Sheng Jiayu and Xu Qingru helped them a lot. Now they were successful in their careers and lived quite well.
"I heard Grandma Xiang has some new items. Shall we check them out later? Aren’t you fond of Grandma Xiang?"
Sheng Jiayu nodded, "Sure."
In fact, Sheng Jiayu wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about luxury goods. Perhaps it was because she had never lacked money since she was a child, thus missing the fervor of pursuit. However, she had always been fond of Chanel because the first bag Xin Ke gave her was from Grandma Xiang’s, even though she immediately recognized it as a knockoff.

Sheng Jiayu and Xue Lu first went to the children’s section. The holidays were approaching, and Sheng Jiayu wanted to buy some gifts for her little nephew and niece.

It was Chen Xueli calling. They were going to a college classmate’s wedding reception that evening. Xue Lu gave him the address so he could pick her up, then continued shopping with Sheng Jiayu.
Women can be crazy when it comes to shopping, and these two were no exception. They hadn’t even gone to the Grandma Xiang’s they mentioned earlier, yet both had already accumulated an armful of bags.
At the entrance of Chanel, Sheng Jiayu’s hands were a bit sore. She handed her items to the sales associate before slowly starting to browse.
Her attention was all on the bags, so she didn’t notice who else was there until she heard Xue Lu’s voice laced with sarcasm, "Wow, what bad luck do I have today, ending up with such an eyesore."
Sheng Jiayu looked up and saw a couple entering the door. Her face turned pale.
Su Wan, holding Xin Ke’s arm, also saw her.
In contrast to Sheng Jiayu’s pale face, Su Wan proudly lifted her chin and then turned to snuggle closer to Xin Ke’s arm, "Honey, isn’t that Sister Sheng? What a coincidence."
Xue Lu was blatantly making a gagging gesture. Xin Ke frowned slightly, seemingly surprised to run into Sheng Jiayu there.
A sharp pain pierced Sheng Jiayu’s heart, and she avoided looking at them.
She lowered her head, staring at the bag in her hand, wanting to pick one randomly and leave. However, Xue Lu pulled her back, putting the one she was eyeing back.
She raised her voice, "That one isn’t suitable for you. Look at that one; it’s the new model."
Xue Lu was pointing at a crossbody bag in the glass display, with a vintage and exquisite design.
The sales associate approached with a smile, "The lady has keen eyes. This is a limited edition worldwide, with only three in all of B City."
Although the bag was exquisite, its complex design made it appear slightly modest. It was beautiful but didn’t suit her at all. Sheng Jiayu looked at her friend oddly and unexpectedly found Xue Lu gazing at Su Wan over there.
