Chapter 663: Chapter 663: Mu Ke, Do You Like Me? (Part 3)

Jiayu glanced towards the kitchen, stunned for a moment.

In the kitchen, Mu Ke’s tall figure stood at the stove, wearing an apron gifted to her by friends. It was black, but the issue was that the apron had lace trimming. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

She had never used it before, and now it was actually worn by a big man.

Mu Ke skillfully served the dishes from the pot one by one, turned his head, and caught sight of Jiayu standing outside. His cool demeanor showed no reaction as he raised his voice, "Come over and eat if you’re awake."

Jiayu thought he had just reheated the food packed from lunch, but upon approaching, she realized it was entirely different.

There were stir-fried shrimp with celery, winter melon and rib soup, along with spicy chicken and a plate of greens — all very common home-cooked dishes. The plating wasn’t particularly pretty, but the colors were appealing and looked very appetizing.

Jiayu felt somewhat awkward, finding it hard to believe that a man had actually cooked all this.

She once attempted to learn cooking for Xin Ke, but after several instances of almost blowing up the kitchen, Jiayu completely gave up.

Mu Ke scooped out two bowls of rice, noticed Jiayu still standing, and casually pulled out a chair for her: "Eat."

Jiayu nodded, sat down, started with a bite of plain rice, then picked up a piece of spicy chicken. It was wonderfully spicy and fragrant, not as greasy as the ones bought outside, and tasted very good.

The spicy chicken was indeed appetite-inducing, causing Jiayu to eat at a faster pace. Mu Ke ladled a bowl of soup in front of her: "Slow down, have some soup first."

Maybe she was eating too quickly, as Jiayu felt slightly uncomfortable in her stomach, so she picked up the small bowl and slowly drank half of the soup. The warmth spreading to her stomach instantly relieved the tension.

After that, Jiayu’s pace in eating also slowed down.

Perhaps it was due to hunger or the dishes being too delicious, Jiayu unprecedentedly ate half a bowl more than usual. Setting down her chopsticks, she realized the person across from her had barely eaten.

"Aren’t you eating?"

"I’ve already eaten."

Mu Ke stood up and started tidying up the dishes, making Jiayu feel a bit embarrassed, as they didn’t seem that close, right?

Jiayu also stood up, "Let me clean up."

Mu Ke glanced at her casually, "Dishwashing liquid isn’t good for the skin, just sit and rest. We’ll head to the hospital in a while."

After speaking, Mu Ke was already carrying the bowls and plates into the kitchen.

Watching him, Jiayu couldn’t deny feeling touched. No one had ever told her that dishwashing liquid wasn’t good for the skin, nor had anyone ever cooked for her in her home.

When she was young, there was Aunt, but after growing up and moving out on her own, Jiayu either ate out or ordered takeout.

Only occasionally, when visiting her mother, would she have a meal at home.

After marrying Xin Ke, she was busy with various social engagements, and seldom ate at home.

She had once fantasized about one day cooking for Xin Ke, then Xin Ke washing the dishes, and them cuddling on a comfortable sofa watching shows together, like a normal couple.

But those were just fantasies.

Jiayu stood in the dining room for a moment, slowly walked back to the bedroom, feeling uncomfortable with the smell on her body, she took a shower and changed into clean clothes.

Looking in the mirror, once again seeing herself in an office lady style, Jiayu frowned, as she really disliked this style.

She opened the wardrobe, but aside from office lady styles, there were even more formal suits, which she liked even less.
