When Love Turns the Tables: The Mysterious Husband's Chase-Chapter 654: Sheng Jiayu vs. Mu Ke (Part 4)
Mu Ke reached out to rub his heart. Those times were over. Her future would be guarded by him. He gave her the chance and time to pursue the happiness she wanted, but she ended up failing. So her future happiness would be entrusted to him. He would not pass her on to any other man, as he did not trust them.
Resting in the hotel until noon, Sheng Jiayu finally got up, opened the door, and found the outer room empty. Sheng Jiayu frowned, her gaze falling on the safe. She had always been independent and was irritated by this feeling of being restrained.
She walked over and tried to open the safe, but the hotel safe’s password was set by the person using it. After the guest leaves, hotel staff would clear it. In other words, only Mu Ke knew the current password.
After a few failed attempts, Sheng Jiayu simply gave up. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
When she turned around, she was startled to find the man who had disappeared now standing behind her with several bags. Sheng Jiayu was taken aback: "When did you come back?"
Mu Ke’s face showed no expression as he placed the bags on the table, his gaze cold and sharp: "While you were busy trying to crack the safe."
"..."
"Your clothes, they should fit."
Mu Ke handed two bags to Sheng Jiayu. She hadn’t brought any luggage this time, only the casual outfit she was wearing. Sheng Jiayu had originally planned to buy things as she went, not expecting Mu Ke to have prepared for her already.
"Shower first, then eat? Or eat first and then shower?"
Before Sheng Jiayu could speak, Mu Ke spoke again on his own accord: "According to the doctor’s advice, eat first, rest for half an hour, then shower. Please follow the doctor’s orders."
Sheng Jiayu: "..."
Darn it, he’s already decided, why ask!
Mu Ke had already ordered the meal before going to sleep, and it was delivered quickly. Having not eaten all morning, Sheng Jiayu was truly hungry.
Mu Ke had ordered Sichuan cuisine, every dish being quite appetizing. As Sheng Jiayu quickly ate, she unintentionally looked up and saw the man across from her frowned, looking as if he disliked her manner.
The next second, the man spoke: "Eat slowly, I’m not competing for the food."
Sheng Jiayu was stunned, then saw a large hand reaching over. She instinctively recoiled, but the hand continued, and the man’s soft thumb wiped a grain of rice from the corner of her mouth.
The spot where he touched felt like it was burning, Sheng Jiayu stared wide-eyed at him.
Mu Ke seemed as if nothing had happened, just quietly continued eating.
Sheng Jiayu really did slow her eating pace, and neither of them spoke as they quietly finished their meal. Sheng Jiayu got up and ran inside.
Mu Ke’s cold voice called from behind: "Miss Sheng."
Sheng Jiayu stopped but did not turn, her tone somewhat displeased: "What?"
Mu Ke walked over with the bags: "Your clothes, you forgot them."
Sheng Jiayu snatched them, not looking at Mu Ke, and walked into the room with her head down.
Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, Sheng Jiayu noticed her face was slightly red. This kind of blush that only happened to young girls was happening to her now?
This must be an illusion.
Sheng Jiayu turned to turn on the shower, but Mu Ke’s words suddenly popped into her head: "Eat first, rest for half an hour, then shower."
