Zhou Chengze didn’t tell Sheng Jianan about Mr. Sheng’s visit, and when Sheng Jianan saw the extra fruits in the ward, he didn’t ask either. They both tacitly understood each other.
In the evening, as Sheng Jianan was accompanying Tang Yanqi for a meal, his phone suddenly rang. Whatever was said on the other end made Tang Yanqi notice his brows gradually knit tighter and tighter.
After several minutes, Sheng Jianan finally hung up the phone and turned to look at Tang Yanqi with a hint of apology in his eyes.
"What’s wrong?"
"There’s a problem with the company, I might need to go on a business trip."

"You should go, I’ll be fine."

It wasn’t that she was being generous, she just felt that Sheng Jianan didn’t really need to revolve around her all the time. "I’ll leave early tomorrow morning and will be back at the earliest the day after tomorrow, the latest won’t be any later than three days from now."

Early the next morning, when Tang Yanqi woke up, there was no sign of Sheng Jianan on the folding bed. On her bedside table, there was a bowl of peeled, diced apples, slightly oxidized at the surface, and a note.

Bai Bing and Qi Cheng came over to bring her breakfast and also shared some good news—Bai Xue was pregnant too.

Her life didn’t seem to be boring just because Sheng Jianan wasn’t around.

"Are you nervous?"

That night, Sheng Jiayu stayed in the ward with her instead of Sheng Jianan.

The atmosphere grew a bit somber, and in the end, Tang Yanqi forgot how she fell asleep.
