Chapter 38: Unnamed

Tears were falling from the eyes of the two girls sitting in front of me.

Seeing them like that, I gave a small smile.

"What happened to you two?" I asked softly.

"Ayal... are you alright?" one of them asked with worry.

I raised both of my hands slightly toward them.

"What could possibly happen to me?" I replied with a faint smile.

As I tried to stand up, I held my head.

My head felt incredibly heavy.

Looking around, I was a little surprised.

Green grass stretched everywhere around us.

The two girls were sitting right in front of me.

I smiled gently at them again.

"Are you two alright?"

Then I looked around once more and asked,

"Where are we now?"

After hearing my question, Hinata looked at me and said,

"We are very far away now."

I stared at her in surprise.

"Far away...? You mean we came this far?"

"Yes," she replied. "We are in the forest now. This place is very far from our academy."

I turned my gaze toward Aira.

She nodded and said,

"Hinata is telling the truth. We are really far away now."

Then she added,

"You were the one who brought us here."

"What? I brought you here?" I asked in confusion.

"Yes," Aira replied. "You brought us to this place."

After hearing their words, I finally realized something.

Milia...

It must have been Milia who brought us here.

I asked them,

"Is there any way for us to leave this place?"

After hearing my question, Aira answered,

"Yes... there is a way."

"But..."

"But what?" I asked while looking at her.

She hesitated for a moment before speaking.

"The problem is... everyone is probably searching for us right now."

Hearing that, I frowned slightly.

"You mean... we can’t go back now?"

Aira looked at me and said,

"You were the one who brought us here. Because of that, everyone believes that Hinata was helping you escape."

"That’s why..."

Two people were sitting in front of me. Tears were falling from their eyes.

Seeing them like that, I gave a small smile and said,

"Hey... what happened to you two?"

"Ayal, are you alright?"

I raised both of my hands toward them and replied calmly,

"What could possibly happen to me?"

As I tried to stand up, I held my head.

My head felt incredibly heavy, as if something was pressing down on it.

When I looked around, I couldn’t help but feel a little surprised.

All around me was green grass, stretching as far as I could see.

The two of them were sitting right in front of me.

I smiled slightly and asked,

"Are you two alright?"

"Where... are we right now?" I asked while looking at them.

After hearing my question, Hinata looked at me and said,

"We’re very far away now."

Hearing her words, I stared at her in shock.

"You mean... we came this far?"

"Yes. We’re inside a forest now.

This place is very far from our academy."

I turned to look at Aira.

She nodded and said,

"Hinata is telling the truth. We’re really far away now.

You’re the one who brought us here."

"What? I brought you here?" I asked in confusion.

"Yes. You’re the one who brought us to this place."

After hearing their words, I finally realized something.

It must have been Milia...

She was the one who brought us here.

I looked at them and asked,

"Isn’t there any way for us to leave this place?"

After hearing my question, Aira replied,

"There is a way... but there’s a problem."

I looked at her and asked,

"What problem?"

"Well... it seems everyone has gone out to search for us."

Hearing that, I said,

"You mean... we can’t go back now?"

Aira looked at me and said,

"You were the one who brought us here. Because of that, everyone now thinks that Hinata actually helped them."

I looked at her and asked,

"You mean everyone will come searching for us now, right?"

"Yes."

Then Aira suddenly looked at me with frustration.

"Ayal, why did you do something like this? We could have protected ourselves somehow... but now, because of you, everyone thinks Hinata really did it. Now they might not hesitate to punish her."

I looked at her silently.

Seeing her like this, I was surprised.

The girl standing in front of me...

Was she really always like this?

For a few minutes, I stayed silent.

If everything she said was true...

Did I really make the right choice?

I don’t know what exactly I did.

But one thing was certain.

I never wanted someone who did nothing wrong...

to be punished for something they didn’t do.

I looked at Hinata and said softly,

"Hinata... no matter what happens, I will always believe in you."

Then I gave her a small, reassuring smile.

Seeing my faint smile, Hinata’s face immediately turned red.

She quickly looked away and muttered softly,

"Y-Yes... I know."

Watching the strange interaction between the two of us, Aira began to feel a little annoyed.

She turned toward me and said,

"But first, we need to figure out how to get out of this place."

She grabbed me and looked at me, and I was a little surprised by her sudden action. For a moment, I didn’t know what to say. As soon as she said those words, I slowly pushed myself up from the grass and stood up, still trying to understand what was happening.

I was surprised when I saw it. But the moment my eyes focused on it, my shock only grew stronger. The sight before me was so beautiful that it was far beyond anything I had ever imagined.

A voice suddenly called out from behind me.

When I turned around to look, I saw Aira and Hinata standing there.

Seeing them, a small smile formed in my mind.

Even so, I couldn’t stop thinking to myself—if I had made a mistake, how would I ever fix it?
