Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Attacking Demon Worshippers!

After just an hour of flight, Xu Liang, Reon, and Mei Lin arrived in Minlung County, covering nearly two thousand miles from Zhushin County.

Thanks to Xu Liang’s mount—a Noble Lineage, Low-Rank Demonic Commander Beast—such an immense journey was reduced to a short flight.

Its speed was something that ordinary demonic beasts could hardly ever hope to rival.

Their destination was at the edge of Mishou Village—a small, remote place deep in the county. In front of them stood a modest-looking estate, the home of a third-class noble.

Two guards flanked the entrance, standing watch.

As the trio approached, the guards stepped forward, blocking their path.

"What business do you have at the Village Chief’s mansion?" one of them demanded warily.

Xu Liang’s eyes narrowed coldly.

"Open the gate. Now."

The second guard barked,

"The chief ordered us to keep strangers out. Leave while we’re still being nice."

Xu Liang exhaled lightly, her voice calm but edged with warning.

"I don’t like killing people who are simply doing their jobs. So step aside... or stay unconscious."

Before they could react, she released a sliver of her Spiritual Pressure.

"AGHH!"

"GUAHH!"

Both guards collapsed instantly, groaning as they hit the ground—completely overwhelmed and knocked unconscious.

Without another word, the trio pushed open the gate and entered the estate.

Rather than heading through the front, they circled around to the rear courtyard of the mansion.

There, they came upon a small open area—likely a training ground used by the family’s guards for sparring and martial practice.

Some of the family members were present, but before they could raise an alarm, Reon and Mei Lin moved in swift coordination, subduing them effortlessly and binding them without causing lasting harm.

Xu Liang continued walking past the training grounds until she reached the very back boundary of the estate.

At first glance, there was nothing unusual—just three-meter-high walls made of weathered stone.

"Senior Sister... it doesn’t look like there’s anything here," Reon said, his brows furrowed.

Xu Liang’s gaze remained fixed ahead as she replied calmly,

"Yes... on the surface, it appears empty. After all, they’re using a High-Tier Grade-5 Illusion Formation—right here in a remote village, hidden inside a noble’s estate."

"It’s so well-concealed that even powerful Element Refining Realm cultivators wouldn’t sense a thing—let alone mortals."

Her voice turned colder.

"But did they really think... they could hide from my Spiritual Sense?"

Reon’s eyes widened.

’A High-Tier Grade-5 Illusion Formation?! That’s something only a Grandmaster-level Formation Master could set up... And there are barely a handful of them even in the entire Zhenou Kingdom!’

’Even with Constitution’s arts, I wouldn’t be able to devour something like this...’

"What should we do then, Senior Sister?" he asked. "Don’t we need a Grandmaster Formation Master to destroy it?"

Xu Liang turned to him with a confident smirk.

"No need. I alone am enough to break this formation."

"Really?!" Reon blinked, surprised.

She nodded, her tone steady.

"Yeah, but there’s a problem—there’s actually a secret realm hidden on the other side of this formation. That’s probably where those Demon Worshippers are hiding."

"And we have no idea how many enemies are inside or what defenses they’ve laid down. Which is why I need you to evacuate the village, Junior Brother."

Her voice softened slightly.

"While you handle that, I’ll break the formation and go in alone."

Reon took a deep breath and nodded.

"If that’s what Senior Sister wishes, I’ll see it done. Just... be careful."

Xu Liang gave a small nod, her crimson eyes glowing faintly.

"I will."

Reon fled with Mei Lin, his thoughts racing.

’If I stay here, I’ll only get in Xu Liang’s way. The least I can do is be useful somehow—by helping the mortals escape to safety.’

’Hmm... but how can I evacuate almost a thousand of people from this village in such a short time?’

His eyes narrowed with determination.

’Alright... let’s do this.’

A few minutes later, Reon and Mei Lin stood inside the mansion, facing the village chief.

Around them, several guards groaned in pain, collapsed to the ground, while others pointed spears at the intruders, tense and ready to strike.

"So, will you comply?" Reon asked, his voice firm.

"Insolent brat! How dare you speak to the village chief like that?!" one of the guards barked.

"Stand down," the chief, an elderly man with a steady gaze, raised a hand to silence the outburst.

"I heard your request, young man. But tell me... what reason do you have for wanting the entire village evacuated?"

"I can’t disclose everything right now," Reon replied, trying to remain composed. "But something very dangerous is hidden in this land. If we don’t act quickly, it could lead to the deaths of everyone here."

’They wouldn’t believe me even if I told them the Demon Worshippers’ base is hidden in this remote village. So it’s better to say nothing at all and just carry out an emergency evacuation by scaring them.’

"Hah! Don’t be ridiculous!" another guard snapped. "This is the safest and most peaceful village in all of Minlung County. Nothing like that could exist here!"

’That’s more of a reason why the Demon Worshippers are here.’ Reon thought inwardly.

The chief furrowed his brow and spoke calmly.

"You must understand, without a valid reason, asking us to evacuate the entire village will cause panic—and chaos. I can’t agree without something more."

Reon spoke, his voice earnest.

"That won’t happen—I’ll take full responsibility. For now, just tell them to gather outside the village. Say we’re distributing free food to the commoners."

"Village Chief, don’t listen to this lunatic." a guard protested. He broke into our mansion without permission and injured several of our guards. We need to capture him."

The chief didn’t look away from Reon. After a long silence, he finally spoke.

"Alright, young man. I’ll grant your request. But know this—if you’re doing this just for fun... you’ll have to face the consequences."

"B-But, Chief—!" the guard began, only to be cut off.

"Enough. Do as he says. Begin the evacuation."

Reon’s eyes softened in gratitude.

"Thank you, Village Chief. I won’t forget this."
