WHAT! I Have To Kill Heaven's Son To Live!-Chapter 145: Forming Mana Core (2)
Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Forming Mana Core (2)
With a final breath, Reon silenced every stray thought, his consciousness sinking inward like a stone into still water.
His body felt lighter. His heart, slower. Even time itself seemed to pause.
Then, he turned his focus inward—to the gaseous sphere of mana swirling faintly within his Constitution.
This mana, absorbed by Luna from that Intermediate-Grade Mana Stone, now hovered there like a newborn sun.
"Circulate it slowly... carefully."
He began to draw a delicate stream of that mana, guiding it into his physical body. It flowed like mist through his veins and arteries.
"Only when the soul is still and the breath of nature flows through the veins, can the core be born."
The mana brushed against his nerves, warming his limbs, seeping into muscle and bone—not aggressively, but with reverent patience.
His flesh began to hum with life, preparing itself for what was to come.
Then came the next phase.
The lower abdomen is traditionally regarded as the origin point of the Mana Core—a place where the energies of the body and the world naturally converge.
But in Reon’s case, that very spot was occupied by the Core Void Eye. Forming the Mana Core there wasn’t an option.
Instead, he would have to construct it just slightly above—close enough that, at the final moment before completion, the Void Eye could consume it from within.
"This is where it begins," Reon thought, narrowing his focus entirely on that precise point.
He visualized a small sphere of emptiness forming in his lower abdomen—an invisible vessel, a hollow yet potent shell, perfectly suited to receive and contain Mana.
After a short while, a flicker of response stirred within him.
"It’s reacting," he murmured, eyes sharpening with focus.
The very space within his abdomen trembled softly.
Resonance. Readiness.
"Now... slowly and steadily."
He began drawing more Mana from within his constitution.
Like silken threads, the mana streamed inward, pulled by his will.
He guided it with care, like coaxing a breeze into a whirlwind.
The mana gathered, swirling gently at first, then faster, tighter—forming a luminous spiral just above his lower abdomen.
The vortex condensed.
From its center, a green core-seed began to take shape—dense, compact, glowing softly.
"Like a pearl born from chaos... it must be shaped with precision, breath by breath."
This was the proto-core, the embryo of a true Mana Core.
But forming the seed was only the beginning. To refine it into a stable core, it needed to be compressed and purified.
Traditionally, this was done with the Inner Flame—a metaphysical fire that only a few gifted mages could conjure through sheer will.
Most required the assistance of a fire mage or alchemist.
The flame purified and compressed the mana seed, burning away its impurities.
This stage often brought immense internal pressure and searing pain—only those with true magical potential could withstand it.
If successful, the core would begin to solidify, becoming denser and marked with faint runic patterns or swirling rotational lines across its surface.
In contrast, forming a Mana Heart required none of this.
As long as one could sense the mana in their surroundings, creating a Mana Heart was relatively simple.
"Since I lack an Inner Flame like a mage or alchemist, I’ll use my Sword Aura instead. It can mimic a dark flame—and might even work better."
He began circulating his Spiritual Qi around the proto-core, gradually converting it into a Dark Aura—a pitch-black flame began to glow within.
The core seed, glowing with both black and green light, pulsed quietly with power.
"It’s ready. Let’s begin the purification."
With calculated calm, he let the Dark Flame wrap around the seed. It licked at the surface, devouring flaws, condensing its form.
The core pulsed, shrank, and darkened.
"Strange... the guide warned of unbearable pain... but I feel nothing."
Whether it was his unique constitution or his honed will, the pain never came.
Only a steady deepening of focus as the core grew denser.
Golden runes slowly began etching themselves along its surface—elegant lines of power and meaning.
Moments passed.
Then—boom.
Reon’s eyes snapped open, glowing a luminous green. A radiant aura surged from his body, bathing the room in emerald light.
A deep hum resonated from within—the heartbeat of his newly formed Mana Core.
But danger loomed.
"It’s formed... but it’s still outside." Reon muttered, tension tightening in his chest.
He had to move it—into the Core Void Eye before it fully stabilized.
"Luna, do it—now." he commanded.
"Understood, Master." Her voice echoed from within, calm and clear.
Whoosh!
In an instant, the Mana Core vanished from his abdomen—sucked into the endless black void of his Constitution, where it nestled beside his Initial Core.
"Hah... finally." Reon exhaled slowly.
"Master, it’s not over yet," Luna’s voice echoed gently. "You still have mana left—you can use it to forge a Mana Circle."
"You can construct it directly from within the Constitution now. The foundation is already complete."
"Oh, that’s perfect," Reon said with a faint smile. "Let’s build it as well. We still have some time before morning."
He closed his eyes again and pictured a circle forming around his Mana Core.
Then, he pulled in the rest of the Mana inside his constitution, connecting it to the core.
From the glowing center, thin streams of light began to spread out, like rivers of mana flowing into the darkness.
The next morning,
Reon’s Mana Core and first Mana Circle were fully formed.
He stood up, made his way to the washroom, took a refreshing bath, and tidied himself up.
Afterward, he removed his sect robes and donned a modest Black Hanfu once worn by Xue Taiyang, retrieved from his spatial ring.
With a final glance, he locked the door and made his way downstairs, where he quietly ate a simple breakfast of bread and milk.
After finishing his breakfast, Reon stepped outside the inn and bought a simple straw hat from a stall near the entrance.
Placing it atop his head, he began his stroll toward the Mortal World.
"Where should I go first?" he wondered, glancing down the quiet side street. "Well, let’s head toward the main city first."
