Wedding Night: My Disabled Husband Made Me Cry-Chapter 97: I Want to Do Something With You
Vivian Quinn frowned, grabbing Rachel’s wrist and shoving her into Austin Grant’s arms. "Keep your woman in check. I don’t have time to get tangled up with you two!"
Only then did Austin Grant belatedly come to his senses. He knew what Vivian Quinn used to look like, but back then she was still developing, pretty but unrefined, her features not yet fully matured.
Later, she was injured while saving him, becoming ugly, crippled, and insecure. He couldn’t even stand the sight of her and never once gave his so-called fiancée a proper look. Her original appearance had gradually faded from his memory.
But today, she had used a woman’s most direct and powerful weapon, appearing before him so unexpectedly. It had completely slain him.
Men are visual creatures, and he was no exception.
Next to Vivian Quinn, the meticulously dressed Rachel Quinn paled in comparison. It was hard for his heart not to stir.
Seeing that Austin Grant’s eyes were practically popping out of his head, Rachel Quinn’s face went pale with anger. She suddenly clutched her stomach and said, "Honey, my stomach hurts so much!"
Only then did Austin Grant manage to tear his gaze away, asking, "What’s wrong?"
"I don’t know. Maybe when Vivian pushed me just now, it was a little too hard."
Vivian Quinn was rendered speechless.
"Rachel Quinn, everyone’s watching. If you’re going to try and frame me, at least use your brain."
Someone in the audience couldn’t help but let out a snort. "PFFT..."
Rachel Quinn’s expression turned even uglier. "Vivian, you can go now."
"Couldn’t be happier."
Vivian Quinn turned to leave, only to see several large, burly men storming in aggressively.
The men were clearly headed for the people on stage. They came up to Austin Grant and said, "Master Grant, time to pay up!"
Austin Grant frowned. "Who are you? When did I ever owe you money? Do you have any idea what kind of occasion this is? Get the hell out!"
"So you’re denying your debt, huh? The Quinn Family owes the money. Rachel Quinn is your wife now, so it’s only right and proper that we come to you for it!"
Rachel Quinn was stunned. "Nonsense! When did I ever owe money!"
"The Quinn Group owed it from before. If you have questions, go check with your finance department. But you have to pay up today!"
Rachel Quinn was so angry her chest heaved. "I’ll go verify it, but I’m in the middle of my wedding right now! Now get the hell out!"
"Still acting so arrogant when you owe money? Fine, then you won’t be having a wedding!"
Without another word, the men started smashing things. They destroyed whatever they saw, and the scene descended into chaos.
"AHHH! STOP! Don’t you dare ruin my wedding!" Rachel Quinn cried out in a panic. "Get out! Get out!"
Vivian Quinn watched the troublemakers suspiciously. ’It looks like they’re here specifically to cause trouble.’
’Even normal debt collectors wouldn’t make a scene at an event like this. Something fishy is going on!’
Vivian Quinn paid the farce no more mind. Having accomplished her mission without a trace, she quietly slipped away.
When she returned to the room, Jett Sterling was sitting in his wheelchair, scrolling through his phone.
"I’m back," Vivian Quinn said, walking over. "There’s nothing left for us here. Let’s go home."
"How was the wedding?"
Vivian Quinn raised an eyebrow. "As if you don’t know."
Jett Sterling chuckled. "Why would I know?"
"I just have a feeling you know. You must be the one pulling the strings from behind the scenes!"
"I’m touched that Mrs. Sterling thinks so highly of me."
Vivian Quinn flashed a brilliant smile. "You’re too easily touched!"
"Only you can touch me."
A warmth spread through Vivian Quinn’s heart. "Jett Sterling, thank you."
"For what?"
"I know you arranged for those people who crashed the wedding. You wouldn’t let anyone who bullies me get away with it."
Jett Sterling gave a noncommittal response. "Vivian, we didn’t have to be so roundabout."
"I know what you mean. You could have just crushed them so they’d never recover, but right now, I have to consider Joy."
"I’ll listen to you."
"Jett Sterling, there’s something I want to do with you."
"What is it?"
Vivian Quinn’s eyes darted slyly. "Come with me!"
An hour later, the two of them were walking along a famous pedestrian street in Aethelgard.
Vivian Quinn turned her head, looking at the side of Jett Sterling’s masked face, when her brow suddenly furrowed. "Zachary Quinn?"
Jett Sterling froze. "You figured it out?"
Vivian Quinn’s mouth fell open in shock. "It really is you!"
Past moments flooded her mind like the opening scenes of a movie. Every time Zachary Quinn had appeared before her, it was no accident!
She had suspected it before, but she had always dismissed the idea.
She never expected that in the end, the most impossible possibility was actually the truth.
Vivian Quinn puffed up her cheeks indignantly and demanded, "Why did you lie to me!"
"How can you call this a lie? I do sometimes use another, more mobile identity to get certain things done," the man explained.
"You still could have told me from the start."
"Vivian, sometimes, the more you know, the more dangerous it becomes." Jett Sterling stopped walking, turned, and took her hand. His dark, deep eyes stared intently at her. "Especially by my side. You’re destined to become a target for everyone."
"I’m not afraid." Vivian Quinn looked at his refined features with determination. "Since I’ve already decided to be by your side, I won’t have any regrets. Even if I become a target for everyone, even if I face danger, I will always stay with you."
The man’s Adam’s apple bobbed. The next second, his hand was wrapped around Vivian Quinn’s waist.
Her waist was so slender that his large hand could easily encircle it.
The sudden proximity made Vivian Quinn’s heart start to race. She could even feel the heartbeat of the man who was now just inches away.
Vivian Quinn watched as the man’s face slowly drew closer. Her long, curled lashes trembled, and her voice shook slightly. "Jett Sterling, we’re in public. Don’t do anything rash..." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
A hint of a smile crept into the man’s deep eyes. "No one knows who we are."
"That doesn’t matter!" Vivian Quinn raised a hand to shield her face. "You’re not allowed to kiss me!"
"Mrs. Sterling, did I say I wanted to kiss you?" Jett Sterling’s eyebrow arched slightly. "I just wanted to get a closer look at you."
Vivian Quinn was speechless.
"Jett Sterling, you’re messing with me again!"
"How is this messing with you?"
"It just is!"
"Alright, whatever Mrs. Sterling says, goes."
"Stop fooling around..." Vivian Quinn could already see people glancing over at them. She quickly gave Jett Sterling a light push on the chest. "Let’s keep walking."
"Okay." The man’s hand slowly moved down, taking hers and lacing their fingers together.
A smile unconsciously graced Vivian Quinn’s lips as she squeezed the man’s hand tightly.
The crowd was bustling, but she felt an unprecedented sense of peace in her heart.
Jett Sterling asked curiously, "Vivian, so this is the thing you wanted to do with me?"
"That’s right. I just wanted to hold your hand and quietly stroll down the street."
"Alright. If you like it, I can walk with you like this every day."
"Mhm!"
Not far away, a camera was hidden in the shadows, frantically capturing photos of the two of them.
