Chapter 81: Chapter 81: You Want a Divorce, I’ll Grant You One

In the span of a single morning, Ethan Grant’s medical records from various major hospitals were all leaked and became a top trending topic online!

Although the Grant Family had the topic taken down immediately, the news had already spread, and everyone knew.

Vivian Quinn was eating lunch when Ethan Grant called.

She picked up her phone and answered, "Chairman Grant."

"Vivian Quinn, are you looking to die?" Ethan Grant said through gritted teeth. "Do you really think I wouldn’t dare to kill you?"

"Calm down, Chairman Grant. We haven’t had any interactions lately. The reason I did this is all thanks to your good daughter-in-law, Rachel Quinn. She forced my hand. If you want to settle a score, go settle it with her."

After saying her piece, Vivian Quinn hung up the phone.

Ethan Grant was in a fit of rage when Rachel Quinn happened to walk in. "Grant—" SLAP!

The sound of a sharp slap cut off the rest of Rachel Quinn’s words.

She staggered back two steps and fell to the ground, seeing stars.

"Rachel!" Austin Grant rushed forward to help her up. "Are you okay? Dad, how could you hit Rachel?"

"Hitting her is getting off light! You brainless fool, who told you to go after Vivian Quinn?" 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Rachel Quinn said aggrievedly, "Grant, I didn’t know Vivian Quinn had that kind of dirt on you..."

"I warned you before! I said that without my permission, you are not to antagonize Vivian Quinn!"

"Dad, you really can’t blame Rachel for this. She didn’t mean to harm you."

"Get out! And don’t let me see her again! Also, if this isn’t resolved, she can forget about ever marrying into the Grant Family!"

"Grant, I’m sorry..." Rachel Quinn secretly gritted her teeth and ran out of the Grant residence in tears.

’I really underestimated Vivian Quinn. But it doesn’t matter. The Vivian Quinn of today is just a filthy stray dog, cast down into Hell with no chance of ever making a comeback!’

...

To the sound of rain outside the window, Vivian Quinn groggily fell asleep.

An unknown amount of time passed before a strange sound startled her awake.

Vivian Quinn’s eyes snapped open. She sat up, her gaze fixed warily on the door.

Someone was picking the lock!

Vivian Quinn grabbed her phone and quietly sent a message.

The door was soon pried open, and two men crept inside, coming into Vivian Quinn’s line of sight.

Both of them froze.

Vivian Quinn leaned against the wall, watching them coolly. "Are you here to steal something, or are you here to grab me?"

The two men exchanged a look and charged at Vivian Quinn!

With a flick of her hand, Vivian Quinn sent a white powder drifting into the air. The two men quickly clutched their eyes and began to howl in pain.

"Help! My eyes hurt so much!"

Vivian Quinn kicked one of the men. "Start talking. Who sent you? Rachel Quinn or Ethan Grant?"

"We were just paid to do a job! We don’t know anything!"

"Not talking, huh? Then you can let the police question you at their leisure."

The moment they heard the word "police," the two men scrambled to crawl back outside.

Vivian Quinn sneered. Just as she was about to move forward and restrain them, a commotion erupted outside.

She immediately went on guard, ready to strike, but then she saw Easton Rivers enter, followed by several bodyguards.

"Madam, are you alright?" Easton Rivers asked anxiously.

"I’m fine." Vivian Quinn put away the object in her hand. "What are you doing here?"

Easton Rivers bowed his head slightly. "Master Sterling has had men protecting you in secret, Madam."

Vivian Quinn was taken aback. "How is he?" she asked.

"Master Sterling is awake. He wants to see you, Madam."

Vivian Quinn lowered her gaze. "I’ve already made myself clear. Tell him to sign the divorce papers."

"Madam, because he can’t see you, Master Sterling is refusing his medication. The hospital has already issued a critical condition notice."

"What did you say?" Vivian Quinn’s face paled. "Has he gone mad?"

Easton Rivers dropped directly to his knees. "Madam, I’m truly out of options. We can only give him his medicine by force when he’s unconscious. The moment he wakes up, he hysterically demands to see you. I’m begging you, please go to the hospital and see Master Sterling!"

Vivian Quinn bit her lower lip tightly. The reason she had left without a word was that she couldn’t face Jett Sterling.

But now, hearing the words "critical condition notice," the emotional walls she had worked so hard to build instantly crumbled.

’I can’t let anything happen to him. I absolutely can’t!’

Vivian Quinn handed the two men on the floor over to the bodyguards, telling them to wait there for the police, then quickly followed Easton Rivers to the hospital.

When she arrived outside the hospital room, Vivian Quinn’s steps faltered.

"Madam?" Easton Rivers also stopped. "Master Sterling needs you."

Vivian Quinn closed her eyes for a moment, then pushed open the door and walked in.

The man on the hospital bed was pale, sleeping with his eyes closed. An IV tube was inserted into the back of his hand.

Vivian Quinn walked over, sat down, and took his hand to check his pulse.

Her brow furrowed slightly. "Easton Rivers, take me to see the doctor."

"Yes, Madam."

Vivian Quinn stood up to leave, but in the next second, her wrist was gripped firmly by a large, cold hand.

Vivian Quinn turned her head to see that the man on the bed had opened his eyes and was gazing at her intently.

Startled, Vivian Quinn reflexively tried to pull her hand back.

A flash of pain crossed Jett Sterling’s eyes. "Vivian..."

Vivian Quinn fought back the tears in her eyes and said softly, "Easton Rivers said you’re refusing your medicine. Don’t you want to live anymore?"

"That’s right, I don’t." The man’s lips twisted into a smirk as he ripped the IV tube from his hand. "You don’t want me anymore, so what’s the point of me living?"

Vivian Quinn stared at him in disbelief. "Jett Sterling, have you lost your mind?"

"I have." Jett Sterling gave a bitter smile. "Vivian, I won’t force you anymore. You want a divorce, I’ll grant you one. I only have one condition."

Vivian Quinn’s hands clenched the hem of her clothes. "...Name it."

"Stay by my side and take care of me until my injuries have healed. Once my body has fully recovered, I’ll divorce you."

"You have plenty of people who can take care of you."

"I got hurt like this trying to save you. Shouldn’t you take some responsibility? If you don’t agree, I’ll die right here in front of you!"

"..." Vivian Quinn was speechless and could only agree. "Fine. I’ll take care of you. And during this time, I will do my best to cure your illness. After that, we’ll owe each other nothing."

Jett Sterling suppressed the pain in his heart. "Deal."

...

The police station quickly responded. The two men who broke into Vivian Quinn’s home insisted they were only there to steal things and had no other motive.

Vivian Quinn didn’t press the matter. Whether it was Ethan Grant or Rachel Quinn who sent them, this was just an appetizer, a way to test her.

Vivian Quinn hung up the phone and continued to feed Jett Sterling his soup.

The man looked at her. "Vivian, that apartment isn’t safe. You should just terminate the lease."

"I’m not living there right now, so no one will come looking. Let’s just keep it for now."

"Alright. At night, you can sleep in the lounge next door. It’s very safe here."

"Thank you."

Vivian Quinn was utterly exhausted. After a quick shower, she was fast asleep the moment her head hit the pillow.

Easton Rivers knocked and entered the hospital room, handing a file to the man on the bed. "Master Sterling, this is everything I’ve been able to find so far about Madam’s pregnancy three years ago. Please take a look."
