Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Don’t Even Think of Leaving My Side in This Lifetime

The man’s grip on the steering wheel slowly tightened, his knuckles turning white. "Do you women have no heart?" he asked coldly. "What on earth did he do wrong to make you so determined?"

"That’s right, I have no heart. I want a divorce. I *have* to get a divorce."

The man’s eyes closed in pain behind his sunglasses. "I’ll take you home."

"Thank you."

The man didn’t reply, simply starting the engine and driving off.

Lost in their own thoughts, neither of them spoke for the entire ride.

The car stopped outside the gates of Sycamore Bay. A bodyguard stepped forward with an umbrella to help Vivian Quinn out of the car.

"Zachary Quinn, thank you for bringing me back."

"I’m your bodyguard. It’s my duty."

Vivian Quinn could see he was in a bad mood, so she didn’t say anything more and quickly got out.

Through the curtain of rain, the man watched her walk away, then took out his phone and made a call.

"Ian Sterling’s birthday party will be at Sycamore Bay... Doesn’t she want a divorce? I’m going to announce her identity in front of everyone. She can forget about ever escaping me in this lifetime!"

...

Two mornings later, Vivian Quinn woke up early and rushed to the airport.

From a distance, she watched Shane Shaw say goodbye to his parents at the security checkpoint, but she never went closer.

’Since he said he didn’t want me to see him off, I won’t show myself.’ She just watched him go in silence from a corner.

Shane Shaw turned to walk toward the checkpoint, but he suddenly stopped and glanced in Vivian Quinn’s direction.

Vivian Quinn quickly ducked behind a sign so he wouldn’t spot her.

Shane Shaw retracted his gaze and soon entered the security checkpoint.

Only after his figure disappeared from sight did Vivian Quinn turn and leave.

As soon as she got into a taxi, she received a WeChat message from Shane Shaw: "Boss, I had a feeling you came to see me off just now, hehe. Am I just imagining things?

Take good care of yourself, and don’t make things hard on yourself. Also, now that I’m gone, Jett Sterling shouldn’t have any more misunderstandings. I genuinely think it’s rare to find someone who treats you so well. You should treasure him."

Vivian Quinn smiled, but tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.

She typed a reply: "Boss will be waiting for you."

Jett Sterling hadn’t returned to Sycamore Bay in the past two days. Vivian Quinn couldn’t eat or sleep properly. The more she forced herself not to think about him, the more impossible it became.

At lunch, Vivian Quinn only had a few bites before putting down her chopsticks.

Nanny Jenner watched from the side, concerned. "Young Madam, you can’t eat so little. You’ve lost a lot of weight these past few days. You should eat more."

"I’m full." Vivian Quinn turned to look at her. "Where has Jett Sterling been these last few days?"

"The Young Master must be busy with something. He’ll be back once he’s finished."

Vivian Quinn gave a small smile. "You don’t have to say that. Tell him he doesn’t need to stay somewhere else. If someone has to leave, it should be me."

"The school called. I can start attending classes now. I’m planning to move into the apartment I rented before. It’ll be more convenient."

"Young Madam, I don’t think that’s a good idea," Nanny Jenner said hesitantly. "The Young Master gave orders that you are not allowed to move out of Sycamore Bay. Otherwise, it would be my failure, and he would not let me off easy."

Vivian Quinn: "..."

"He’s being completely unreasonable! This is my business, what does it have to do with you?"

"Young Madam, in the Sterling Family, the Young Master doesn’t need to be reasonable. I am only a servant. Please don’t make things difficult for me."

...

Early the next morning, Vivian Quinn handed a document to Nanny Jenner.

"You must know where Jett Sterling is. Even if you don’t, you can contact Easton Rivers to give this to him."

Nanny Jenner opened the document, and her face went pale with fright. "Young Madam, I... I wouldn’t dare deliver something like this."

"My mind is made up. If you don’t deliver it, I’ll move out. In any case, this divorce is happening."

After saying her piece, Vivian Quinn walked straight out the door and headed to school.

As soon as she entered the classroom, Ian Sterling whistled at her. "Hey, Little Cripple, get over here."

Vivian Quinn ignored him and went straight to the back row to sit down.

Ian Sterling got up and walked over to her. "You’ve got some nerve. Didn’t you hear me calling you?"

"Stay away from me," Vivian Quinn said, annoyed.

"Oh, so you’re really trying to pull the ’auntie’ card on me?" Ian Sterling lowered his voice. "Let me tell you, Little Cripple, you can’t handle my uncle. He’s not a man; he’s a demon. You’re way out of your league. He’ll eat you up, bones and all."

"Oh?" Vivian Quinn turned to look at him. "And what about your league?"

"Why are you asking that?"

"Just curious. But from the looks of it, you seem terrified of him."

Ian Sterling’s mouth twitched. "I admit it, I’m scared of him, but that’s nothing to be ashamed of. Don’t you laugh at me. You just haven’t seen what my uncle is capable of... By the way, I heard he already sent Shane Shaw packing, right? See? That’s my uncle for you. He’s got this twisted possessiveness and need for control. He’s probably even got people watching you."

"Is that so?" Vivian Quinn’s lips suddenly curled into a smile.

A bad feeling welled up inside Ian Sterling.

Sure enough, the next second, the girl stood up and raised her voice. "Ian Sterling, what did you just say? You like me? And you want to pursue me? Are you crazy?"

Everyone: "..."

Ian Sterling: "..."

"Vivian Quinn, you’re insane!" Ian Sterling frantically pulled her back down into her seat. "Are you trying to get me killed?"

"You figured it out?"

Ian Sterling nearly choked with anger. "You’re ruthless!"

Suddenly, Vivian Quinn caught sight of something out of the corner of her eye, and a cold glint flashed in her gaze.

"Vivian Quinn, I’ll kill you!" Diana Davenport stormed in carrying a basin of water and threw it at Vivian Quinn!

In a flash, Vivian Quinn spun around, yanking Ian Sterling in front of her!

SPLASH!

Most of the water in the basin splashed onto Ian Sterling, drenching him completely.

Ian Sterling’s face turned livid. "Are you trying to die?"

Diana Davenport trembled in fear. "Sterling, I... I’m sorry! I wasn’t trying to splash you! It was all Vivian Quinn! She deliberately pulled you in front of her to block it!"

Vivian Quinn brushed off the few drops that had splashed onto her. "It was just a reflex. Sterling, thanks for blocking that for me. That water stinks. Good thing it didn’t get on me."

Everyone: "..."

Ian Sterling’s face grew even darker. "What is this water?!"

Diana Davenport was so scared she started to cry. "I’m sorry... It’s... it’s mop water..."

"Very good." Ian Sterling nodded. "From now on, don’t let me see you at this school again! Now get out!"

Diana Davenport was both terrified and furious, directing all her anger at Vivian Quinn. "Vivian Quinn, you shameless homewrecker! You’ve really got some skills! Not only did you seduce Shane Shaw, but you even got the Shaw Family to break off our engagement! You bitch!"

Vivian Quinn let out a cold laugh. "Are you done? If you’re done, you can get lost. Otherwise, Sterling might just explode."

Afraid of Ian Sterling, Diana Davenport didn’t dare linger. She pointed a finger at Vivian Quinn and warned, "You just wait! I will never let you get away with this!"

Cursing, Ian Sterling called over his lackeys. "What are you all gawking at? Go find me a change of clothes! And teach the Davenport Family a lesson, or they’ll think I’m some pushover!"

"Yes, Ian!"

Vivian Quinn paid Ian Sterling no mind, but she soon noticed Rachel Quinn standing by the door, watching the commotion and shooting her a provocative look.

Vivian Quinn’s fingers tightened, her hands balling into fists. She quickly walked out.

The two of them walked to a deserted flowerbed before Rachel Quinn turned to face her. "Vivian, how’s the divorce coming along?"

"Just as you wished, it’s in progress. Where is the child!"
