Wedding Night: My Disabled Husband Made Me Cry-Chapter 57: Seduction
Vivian Quinn hadn’t even finished her meal when she saw Diana Davenport walking toward her, carrying a tray.
From the way she was walking, Vivian could tell she was about to pull some kind of stunt.
She glanced around, then quickly stood up to leave, running right into Diana.
Diana’s face lit up. When they were just a meter apart, she suddenly cried, "Oops!" and threw herself toward Vivian.
Vivian deftly sidestepped. With no one in front of her, Diana lunged forward and face-planted on the ground. The food from her tray scattered everywhere.
The commotion was so loud that many people in the cafeteria turned to look. Diana was utterly humiliated.
"Diana, are you okay?" Rachel Quinn hurried over to help her up, then turned to question Vivian. "Vivian, you clearly saw Diana about to fall. Why didn’t you help her?"
"Are we close? Why should I help her?"
"We’re all classmates. How can you be so unfriendly?"
"I’m not friendly with trash."
Diana’s face contorted with anger. Just as she was about to lash out, a cold voice cut in. "Hey! You got my pants dirty."
It was as if she’d heard the devil’s voice; Diana trembled violently in fear.
She slowly turned around, and her face went pale.
Ian Sterling, Aethelgard University’s campus tyrant and heartthrob, was sitting at a table eating. His face, more handsome than any movie star’s, was dark and grim.
Diana’s gaze shifted downward. She saw that the food she had just spilled had splattered onto Ian Sterling’s ripped jeans. It was only a tiny bit, but the consequences would be unimaginable!
"I... I’m sorry..." Diana hurried forward to apologize. "Sterling, I’ll wipe it off for you and buy you a new pair. Is that okay?"
Ian was dressed fashionably, his ash-gray hair giving him an arrogant air. "You’ve ruined my appetite. Can you afford to compensate me for that?"
Diana was trembling with fear. No one knew who Ian Sterling really was, only that his background was so powerful that even the university president had to bow and scrape before him.
Combined with his perverse personality, he could do whatever he wanted at Aethelgard University.
Once, a rich kid accidentally spilled a little water on him. The next day, he’d dropped out of school.
He was a figure of both love and hate. Half the girls in the school wanted to be his girlfriend, but they were too afraid to get close.
A girl who couldn’t contain her feelings once wrote him a love letter. His lackeys ended up posting it on the campus network for everyone to see. The girl became depressed, didn’t leave her house for three months, and even attempted suicide.
When the girl’s parents came to the school to demand an explanation from Ian, he threw a bag of money in their faces and said only a single word: "Scram!"
The matter was eventually dropped, but everyone knew Ian Sterling was arrogant and had the capital to back it up.
Forgetting all about her pride, Diana burst into tears. "Sterling, I’m begging you, please forgive me! I really didn’t do it on purpose..."
Ian frowned in disgust. "You’re hideous when you cry. Are you trying to make me lose my appetite on purpose?"
"I’m not..."
Rachel Quinn stepped forward, a beautiful and charming smile on her face. Her sweet voice was gentle and lovely. "Sterling, Diana didn’t do it on purpose. Could you, for my sake, forgive her this one time?"
Ian glanced at her. "Who are you? Why should I give you face?"
His lackey beside him introduced her, "Ian, this is the campus belle, Rachel Quinn."
"This is what the campus belle looks like?" Ian sneered. "If you go around telling people you’re Aethelgard University’s campus belle, they’ll laugh and say our school has no beautiful women."
Rachel’s face instantly flushed red, then went deathly pale. It was quite a spectacle.
Ian had actually dared to say in public that she wasn’t worthy of being the campus belle. He was clearly calling her ugly!
’How despicable!’
Because of what Ian said, Rachel could clearly feel the gazes of the people around her turning strange.
But she didn’t dare to refute Ian. After all, no one dared to provoke him.
"Ian, what do you want to do about this?" his lackey asked.
Ian’s expression was cold. "Eat everything on the floor, and I’ll let it slide for today."
Diana’s face went white. "But it’s all dirty!"
A wicked grin spread across Ian’s handsome face. "If you don’t want to, that’s fine. I won’t force you."
How could Diana not understand the warning in his words? If she didn’t eat it, she probably wouldn’t be able to come to school tomorrow!
Rachel said indignantly, "Sterling, you’re going too far! How can you humiliate a girl like this?"
Ian raised his hands and clapped a few times. "My, what a kind person you are. Since you’re so kind, why don’t you join her?"
"Pfft..." Vivian couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
The other students also started snickering.
Rachel immediately shrank back. Eat the filthy food off the floor? She’d rather die!
"Looks like the campus belle’s kindness is all talk," Ian sneered. "Hurry up and eat. Don’t waste my time!"
Sobbing uncontrollably, Diana squatted down, grabbed handfuls of food from the floor, and stuffed them into her mouth. She was a pathetic sight.
Having watched the whole show, Vivian Quinn went back to her dorm to pack her things.
Jett Sterling didn’t want her living on campus, so she might as well give her spot to someone else.
Before she had even finished packing, Rachel Quinn and Diana Davenport stormed in.
"Vivian Quinn!" Diana raged. "You deliberately walked over to Ian Sterling to make me offend him, didn’t you?"
Vivian spread her hands. "That’s a ridiculous thing to say. How was I supposed to know you would suddenly fall? That’s like blaming gravity for not being able to fly."
"You..." Diana was so stunned she was speechless, yet she couldn’t refute it.
"Vivian, you have no sense of collective honor," Rachel Quinn criticized self-righteously. "Diana and I were humiliated in public, and you were just standing there laughing and gloating. That was really out of line."
"So what did you want me to do?" Vivian looked at her. "Stand up and speak for her? Then Ian would have definitely told me to eat with her. You were being so righteous, but you didn’t eat with her, did you?"
Rachel Quinn: "..."
Thinking about it made Diana feel even worse.
She had always treated Rachel Quinn like a goddess, obeying her every word, thinking she would get the same loyalty in return. But at the critical moment, Rachel had backed down and just watched as she was humiliated!
The more Diana thought about it, the more upset she became. She cried as she demanded, "Rachel, why wouldn’t you join me? You said I was your best friend. That was all a lie, wasn’t it?"
"Diana, don’t let her drive a wedge between us. Of course you’re my best friend! The reason I didn’t join you was because... because I thought if we were both shamed, our class would never be able to hold its head up again!"
"Tsk, tsk, tsk..." Vivian, enjoying the drama, chimed in. "Rachel Quinn, that’s a pretty weak excuse. Shouldn’t your best friend be the most important thing?"
Diana stomped her foot in anger.
"Diana, let me explain..."
Just as Rachel Quinn started to speak, a familiar voice suddenly came from outside the door...
