Wedding Night: My Disabled Husband Made Me Cry-Chapter 22: Immediate Consummation
The crowd: "..." ’What in the world is she doing?!’
Jett Sterling froze, forgetting the pain as he savored her rare initiative.
Vivian Quinn didn’t know how to kiss. She simply pressed her lips firmly against his.
A flicker of a smile crossed the man’s bloodshot eyes. He raised a hand to the back of her head, taking control and deepening the kiss.
The crowd: "..." ’Should we leave, or... should we leave?’
Jett Sterling was reveling in her sweetness when, a second later, a sharp pain shot through his neck. His vision went black, and he passed out.
The three who were just about to leave: "???"
"Ma’am, you just..."
Vivian Quinn pulled the silver needle from the man’s neck and explained, "He has a head injury, so I can’t perform acupuncture recklessly. This was the only way to knock him out."
Realization dawned on Easton Rivers. "So when you kissed Master Sterling just now..."
Vivian Quinn blushed. "It was so he wouldn’t be as angry when he wakes up."
The crowd: "..." ’The Madam is on a whole other level!’
"You may all leave now. I’ll stay here and watch over him."
"Yes, Ma’am."
Vivian Quinn got a towel and gently wiped the sweat from the man’s face. She then took his hand to check his pulse.
Perhaps because of the injury, his condition seemed even more serious than when he had first checked her pulse.
’Looks like I can’t focus solely on dealing with that scumbag and his bitch. I’ll have to split my attention and treat Jett Sterling.’
’It wouldn’t be good to accidentally become a widow.’
’But for now, I have to keep my real identity a secret from Jett Sterling to avoid unnecessary trouble.’
Her phone suddenly rang. It was a call from an unknown number.
Vivian Quinn stepped outside to answer. "Hello, who’s calling?"
Silas Quinn’s furious voice erupted from the other end of the line. "Vivian Quinn, how dare you! Knocking out the driver and running off! You get home right now, apologize to President Aldridge, and marry him immediately!"
Vivian Quinn gave a faint smile. "You’re back from your trip abroad?"
"You’ve caused so much trouble! Of course I had to rush back overnight to clean up your mess!"
"I need you to clean up my mess? I’d thank heaven and earth if you just stopped being so disgusting."
"Get back here right now!"
"Don’t worry. I’m waiting to settle the score with you."
Vivian Quinn hung up and took a taxi to the Quinn family home.
In the living room, Silas Quinn and Yvonne Lawrence were fawning over a middle-aged man. Rachel Quinn was there as well.
The man was burly and stout, looking even older than Silas Quinn. The moment he saw Vivian Quinn, his eyes clung to her like slugs.
"Vivian Quinn, so you decided to show your face!" Silas Quinn strode forward and yanked her over. "Hurry up and apologize to President Aldridge!"
Gordon Aldridge chuckled. "President Quinn, you can’t be so rough with a lady."
Vivian Quinn felt her stomach turn.
"Vivian, see how caring President Aldridge is? It’s your good fortune to marry him. You have to cherish this opportunity." Rachel Quinn sat down beside Vivian Quinn, leaned close to her ear, and whispered, "I looked into it. This President Aldridge has a Merv fetish, which is why he wants to marry you. He’ll definitely ’cherish’ you."
Vivian Quinn sneered. "Don’t you just love taking what’s mine? How could you pass up such a ’blessing’? Since President Aldridge is so wonderful, why don’t you marry him? You might even be able to ask for a higher bride price."
"The Quinn family raised you for 21 years. You should repay their kindness by securing more benefits for them, right?"
Rachel said, feigning hurt, "Vivian, I’m already engaged to Austin."
"I was still engaged to him, but that didn’t stop you from snatching him, did it? You seem to be having a great time carrying on your little affair with him."
Rachel’s face paled. "You’re the one President Aldridge likes!"
Vivian Quinn gave a faint smile. "That’s easy to fix. It’s just a Merv fetish, right? I’ll just have to break your legs, or maybe rip off one of your arms. Then he’ll naturally fall for you."
Biting her lip, Rachel cried out, "Dad! Mom! How can Vivian say such things to me?"
Yvonne Lawrence’s anger flared. "Vivian Quinn, why must you always pick on Rachel? What has she ever done to you?"
Vivian Quinn glanced at her. "Can’t bear to give up your precious adopted daughter, is that it? Fine. President Aldridge is about your age, a perfect match. Why don’t you divorce and marry him instead?"
Everyone: "..."
Yvonne Lawrence was practically apoplectic. "Vivian Quinn, I am your mother! How dare you speak to me like that!"
"I suggest you take a look in the mirror and see if you even resemble a mother," Vivian Quinn said coldly. "You’re capable of selling your own daughter. Is there anything I’m not allowed to say?"
"Then you should take a look at yourself and see if you act like my daughter!" Yvonne Lawrence raged. "Ever since you came to the Quinn family, what have you done besides bully Rachel and anger your father and me?"
"I bully her?" Vivian Quinn actually laughed. "She knocked me unconscious and hired two men to humiliate me just to ruin my engagement. Are you all just pretending you didn’t see that happen?"
Rachel burst into tears. "Dad, Mom, I already explained! Vivian framed me! I didn’t do it!"
"Did you hear that? Rachel said she didn’t do it." Yvonne Lawrence hugged Rachel protectively, her voice filled with heartache for her. "Vivian Quinn, you’re the one who’s shameless, yet you dare to make false accusations! How did I ever give birth to a creature like you!"
Vivian Quinn looked at her, her expression full of disappointment. "You think I wanted you to give birth to me? You’ve never given me an ounce of love, and now you’re trying to sell me to an old man!"
"We’re doing this for your own good!"
Vivian Quinn raised an eyebrow. "Then I’m doing this for your own good, too. This President Aldridge is obviously richer than your husband. You’ll be much happier after you remarry."
"You..." Yvonne Lawrence was so furious she was practically spewing smoke. "Regardless, you are leaving with President Aldridge today!"
"Then you’re bound to be disappointed." Vivian Quinn pulled her family register from her pocket and slapped it onto the coffee table with a loud THWACK. "I already disowned President Quinn over the phone. I’ve had my registration transferred. I have nothing to do with the Quinn family anymore."
"You ate our food and wore our clothes! You think you can just walk away scot-free? It’s not that easy!"
"Fine. Tally up how much money I’ve cost you over the past five years. I’ll pay you back, with interest."
She didn’t have time to bicker with them. She had to get back to Jett Sterling as soon as possible. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"It’s not as simple as money!" A sinister glint flashed in Yvonne Lawrence’s eyes. "Go upstairs and consummate your marriage with President Aldridge right now!"
Gordon Aldridge’s face lit up with joy, but he quickly feigned hesitation. "Is... is this appropriate?"
Yvonne Lawrence plastered on a smile. "President Aldridge, you don’t even mind that my daughter sullied herself with another man. We’re already so grateful. You’re family now, so what’s wrong with staying with us? Besides, my husband and I are counting on you to get Vivian pregnant soon. We can’t wait to hold our grandchild!"
Gordon Aldridge’s eyes lit up. "That’s true. You’re my father- and mother-in-law. It’s only natural for a son-in-law to stay over."
"Exactly."
Gordon Aldridge looked at Vivian Quinn gleefully. "Baby, let’s go to our room."
Suppressing the urge to gag, Vivian Quinn said, "If you’re not afraid of dying a violent death, then by all means, give it a try."
"Vivian Quinn, don’t be so ungrateful!" Yvonne Lawrence’s face darkened. "Someone, grab her and take her to her room!"
