Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Don’t Leave Me

Mason Landon looked at him coolly. "You don’t need to threaten me. I want Vivian to be safe more than anyone!"

The door to the emergency room opened an hour later. Everyone rushed forward at once.

Shane Shaw asked anxiously, "Doctor, how is she?!"

The doctor removed the mask from his face and sighed. "The patient’s condition is very complicated. We’ve done our best to counteract the poison, but there was nothing more we could do. Right now, she’s in a coma. If we can develop an antidote within forty-eight hours and she wakes up, she’ll have cheated death. But if she doesn’t, she’ll fall into a vegetative state and could face brain death at any moment."

Shane Shaw’s legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the floor.

Mason Landon walked to the window, lost in thought.

Jett Sterling lowered his gaze, his voice deep. "Easton, I’m giving you five hours. Assemble the best medical team. Spare no expense. You must make my wife wake up."

"Yes, Master Sterling."

The rain outside fell harder and harder, showing no signs of stopping...

...

Easton Rivers was extremely efficient. Within hours, he had contacted the world’s top experts and assembled a medical team to treat Vivian Quinn.

"Master Sterling, the domestic experts are already gathering in Aethelgard. The international experts are on their way and will hold meetings en route so as not to delay treatment for your wife."

"Good." Jett Sterling sat quietly in his wheelchair, watching the girl in the hospital bed who was hooked up to a ventilator.

She had lost her usual vibrant flamboyance and showed no signs of life. Only the fluctuating lines on the bedside monitor proved she was still alive.

"Vivian, I’m sorry..." Jett Sterling held her cold hand and lowered his head to kiss it. "Don’t leave me. I’m begging you..."

The medical team began working around the clock, studying Vivian Quinn’s condition. They ran toxicology tests again and again until they finally obtained a precise result.

"Master Sterling, please take a look." The lead doctor handed over a report. "The reason Miss Quinn’s condition is so severe is that we found two different toxins in her blood. While both are slow-acting poisons, their interaction amplified their respective toxicities. This, compounded by Miss Quinn’s weakened physical state, led to her current condition."

Jett Sterling looked at the report and said coldly, "I understand that. What I want now is a plan for the antidote."

"Master Sterling, both poisons are highly complex. Developing an antidote will not be simple, especially since they have now combined. The situation is extremely difficult, but we will do our best."

"I don’t want you to ’do your best.’" Jett Sterling looked up, his glacial gaze sweeping over the doctor. "I want her alive and to wake up safely!"

The doctor trembled in fear. "Yes!"

At the doorway, Shane Shaw quietly closed the door and walked to the smoking area. From a distance, he saw Mason Landon standing by a window, smoking.

Shane Shaw walked up beside him, standing shoulder to shoulder. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it before speaking. "The doctor said there are two poisons in the boss’s system. One is obviously from Ian Sterling. The other... that’s your handiwork, isn’t it?"

The hand with which Mason Landon held his cigarette froze.

"So because your love was unrequited, you poisoned the boss to force Jett Sterling to divorce her, is that it?" Shane Shaw turned his head to stare at him in disbelief. "Mason, I’ve known you for years through the boss. I never thought you were this kind of person!"

"I don’t know what you’re talking about." Mason Landon calmly took another drag from his cigarette, blowing out a perfect smoke ring. "Shane, it seems Vivian told you about my feelings for her. That’s right, I love her. It was love at first sight."

Mason Landon continued to reminisce as he smoked. "It’s just a shame that she was in love with Austin Grant back then." A fleeting coldness flashed in his eyes. "What is Austin Grant, anyway? He was never worthy of Vivian’s affection. I know Vivian. I knew once she saw his true colors, she would quickly pull away and look at him with disdain." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

"Everything was going according to my plan. But I never expected Jett Sterling to come out of nowhere! His appearance completely wrecked my plan. What Vivian felt for him wasn’t like her crush on Austin Grant. It was... love!"

Mason Landon crushed the cigarette butt under his foot. "The first time I saw Vivian after I came back, I just knew. I knew she was going to fall in love with him—or rather, that she already had! Shane, you can’t imagine how I felt in that moment."

"No, I can’t imagine it. But no matter what, you had no right to hurt the boss!" Shane Shaw said, suppressing his rage. "Mason, what did the boss do to deserve this kind of suffering?!"

"I told you, it had nothing to do with me!" Mason Landon retorted. "I love her! How could I possibly bear to let anything happen to her?!"

"Do you take me for a fool?" Shane Shaw sneered. "I never believed Jett Sterling would betray the boss, so I rushed back to try and stop their divorce. But this morning, outside the Civil Affairs Bureau, Jett Sterling said so many hurtful things to her, and I almost believed him."

"But now I see it clearly. He didn’t mean a word of it. If he really didn’t love her, he wouldn’t be here. Anyone with eyes can tell if his love is real or just an act!"

"Mason, I’m asking you, who else besides you could use the boss to threaten Jett Sterling?! What kind of poison did you give her that left Jett Sterling so helpless that he had no choice but to compromise?!"

Mason Landon said nothing, simply turning to leave.

"Mason, you stop right there!" Shane Shaw chased after him and grabbed his arm. "Hand over the antidote!"

Mason Landon’s expression turned cold. "Let go."

"No. If you don’t hand over the antidote today, I’ll kill you!"

Mason Landon shoved him away. "I’m going to work on the antidote now. And I’m telling you, Shane, I’m the person who loves Vivian the most in this world, and I’m the person who least wants anything to happen to her!"

While Shane Shaw stood there, stunned, Mason Landon had already turned and walked away.

Shane Shaw didn’t chase after him. There was no point in cornering Mason Landon now. He just hoped the boss would wake up soon!

Time ticked by, second by second. In the blink of an eye, twenty-four hours had passed.

The medical team worked tirelessly on the antidote, while Jett Sterling hadn’t left the ward for even a moment, remaining glued to Vivian Quinn’s side.

Nanny Jenner brought in hot soup. "Young Master, you should eat something. If you don’t eat or drink, your own body will collapse. Then you won’t be able to take care of the Madam."

Jett Sterling held Vivian Quinn’s hand, perfectly still. "Get out."

Nanny Jenner sighed helplessly. "Yes."

The hospital room fell quiet once more. Jett Sterling kissed Vivian Quinn’s arm, his voice low and hoarse. "Vivian, you’ve been asleep for a long time. It’s time to wake up."

"I know I was wrong. Just wake up, and I’ll apologize. I have so many things I want to tell you. Wake up, and I’ll give you anything you want, okay?"

Mason Landon opened the door and entered. Seeing Jett Sterling holding Vivian Quinn’s hand, his expression immediately darkened. "Let go of her."
