Weapon seller in the world of magic-Chapter 813: Earth 1712: Sungjun in the Prison (Part-14)
Sungjun approached quietly, parting the fabric just a little.
There she was, Xing Lin, looking pale and frail, her short hair scattered on the pillow. Her breathing was almost fragile, as if she were barely clinging to her life.
He didn't understand why she was there—or what had been done to her. Still, he knew this place wasn't meant for his acquaintance, for someone who showed nothing but kindness to him in his past life.
Without hesitation, he raised his hand and opened a portal beside the bed. A glowing blue vortex spiraled into existence with a low hum.
The noise stirred her awake. Her eyes fluttered open—confusion first, then alarm—as she looked at the portal, scanning the room for anyone present.
"Wha… What is…" she murmured, pushing herself up slowly.
She looked around again—no one.
Cautiously, she stepped closer toward the portal, wondering what it was.
That was when Sungjun materialized silently behind her, alerting her senses. But before she could even gasp, he placed a firm hand on her back and pushed her through the portal.
"Aah…" A scream escaped her as she disappeared into the portal. Then, without hesitation, he followed her in.
The portal collapsed behind them with a faint snap of energy.
A moment later, red lights flashed across the ward. beep-beep-beep of security alarms was heard all over.
Within seconds, a squad of security drones glided in through the automatic doors. Their eyes scanned the empty bed and the active mana residue in the air.
"Alert. Inmate 67781 has escaped."
"Repeat—Inmate 67781 has escaped."
The alarm continued to echo through the corridors of Level-6, and almost all robots patrolling went to work immediately.
While Level-6 erupted in chaos—alarms screaming, guards mobilizing, and drones scanning every corridor—two figures materialized quietly in Level-7.
Xing Lin blinked rapidly, her mind struggling to register the sudden change. One moment, she was in a sterile medical ward; the next, she stood in this shadowed, suffocating place. Her instincts kicked in before her reason did.
As her eyes glowed scarlet, she snapped her head toward the only person near her—Sungjun.
"Graaa…!"
The growl tore out of her throat, like raw and animalistic. Her posture dropped low with her hands on the floor.
She lunged.
Sungjun stepped back instantly, raising his hands. "Xing Lin, it's me! I'm not your enemy—calm down!"
But she didn't listen. Her hands struck the ground, propelling her forward again in a blur of speed. Her eyes were feral, her breathing heavy, and her movements becoming too sharp to be entirely human.
"What the hell happened to her?" Sungjun thought as he blocked another blow.
Mana powered his fists with mana and countered with a quick jab to her abdomen, then another to her ribs, followed by a heavy punch to her stomach.
She staggered back from the third blow… before… she threw her head back and howled.
"Awooooo!"
The sound reverberated across the stone walls, deep and guttural. Her eyes turned a burning amber as her body convulsed. Bones cracked. Veins pulsed. Fur started spreading rapidly over her skin, shredding her clothes in an instant.
Her fingers curved into claws. Her jaw elongated. And within seconds, where the woman had stood, now crouched a massive grey wolf.
Sungjun narrowed his eyes, lowering his stance. "A shapeshifter? No… it feels like she turned into a real wolf. Her eyes weren't brown or blue but red… was she infected back then and turned into a werewolf? Is that how she managed to survive? What about others?" He couldn't help but remember the rest of his team.
Meanwhile, in his cell, Liu Wei, who had been resting, felt the tremor of something powerful outside. He cautiously stepped out, narrowing his eyes when he saw the scene unfolding a short distance away.
Sungjun was locked in combat with a wolf—its claws slashing through the air, sparks flying each time their attacks met. The feral beast's strength was monstrous, but Sungjun's movements were fluid as if he were controlling the battle.
"Where did this wolf come from?" Liu Wei wondered.
Meanwhile, as the battle seemed like it was getting intense, the wolf lunged at him to bite his neck, from the side, at a terrifying speed.
However, at the last second, Sungjun raised his hand and let the wolf bite him. While blocking, he slipped one hand into his inventory and drew out a small injection with a silver needle and scarlet liquid that was already filled. It was a knockout drug, albeit the most powerful knockout drug ever to be developed by Royal Gold Laboratories.
He brought a few with him for self-defense purposes. After all, the prison is filled with criminals. Of course, he only gave one of them to Steve before he came here so that he could use it during his kitchen duty to cause panic on level-2 and distract the guards, so that he could escape without worrying about any unexpected preventive measures. Although that plan was unnecessary now, Sungjun still intended to let Steve execute it.
Back to the current scenario, as Sungjun stabbed the needle into the wolf's neck as it bit his arm, the drug entered instantly.
Sungjun then used his strength to push it away from him and somersaulted to create distance. Meanwhile, the wolf started spasming left and right, waving its claws, and growling furiously. The strength in its limbs faltered.
"Grrr… raah…"
In a few moments, it stumbled forward and finally collapsed with a dull thud. Its breathing slowed, the fur receding, the beastly form shrinking away until only a naked woman remained.
Sungjun stood over her, letting out a heavy sigh. "I just hope that this condition of yours can be treated. With Sun Xiao and Jin Chen's whereabouts unknown, the incident of 1996 was buried by the Alsacian Federation, and me, who does not have the support of Eva anymore, you are my hope to find out about the incident. Perhaps, if I knew what happened then, I might be able to find out the secret of Transmigration and the system, too."
Meanwhile, Liu Wei stood frozen, his mouth half open as he stared at the unconscious woman lying on the cold floor. Her breathing was faint but steady; her human form returned.
"W–What was that?" he managed, still stunned by how swiftly the fight had ended.
"Oh, you are not sleeping…" Sungjun dusted off his sleeves, his voice calm and clinical as he replied, "Anyway, it's a knockout drug: 3AB411P. No official name has been decided, though."
He glanced at the small injection lying beside him before continuing, "It's the most potent sedative ever developed by our lab. Strong enough to bring down a Lord-Tier monster, and if you pump enough of it, even a King-Tier might feel it. In the right concentration, it could knock out hundreds at once if mixed into a large solution."
Liu Wei blinked, trying to process the information. "You… used all that on one person?"
Sungjun smirked faintly. "Well, if she had been a normal human, I wouldn't do it, as it could lead to brain damage. But I think she is going to be fine. Now, if my estimations are correct, she won't wake up for at least forty-eight to seventy-two hours."
His tone was detached, almost emotionless, but there was a flicker of something in his eyes—relief, maybe. Then he turned toward Liu Wei, expression sharpening again. "Anyway…" His gaze met Liu Wei's as he said, "Now that I have fetched my friend, the time has already come. We're going. Are you ready?"
Liu Wei straightened, quickly nodding, "Yes, sir."
Liu Wei's eyes sharpened as Sungjun addressed him. "Are you ready?"
He nodded immediately. "Yes. Of course. Just give me a minute—I need to gather my belongings. Wait here."
As he turned away, he muttered quietly to himself, "Since I didn't even get the chance to forge my own armor, I'll have to create a temporary army of robots… just in case things go wrong during the escape."
Within minutes, Liu Wei returned, a determined glint in his eyes.
"Alright. Let's go."
Sungjun lifted Xing Lin carefully into his arms, ensuring she was secured. He activated the Teleportation Portal skill, selecting his home as the destination.
"Follow me closely," he instructed.
Liu Wei braced himself as the familiar distortion of space enveloped him, pressure pressing from all directions. Time seemed to stretch for a heartbeat. Then, with a sudden rush, the sensation ended.
He blinked, disoriented, and looked around. They were standing in the middle of a lavish living room, sunlight filtering through expansive windows and gleaming off polished surfaces.
Liu Wei's jaw went slightly slack as he took in the grandeur, then looked at Sungjun, who was smiling calmly.
"Welcome to my home," Sungjun said with a smile
Liu Wei's mind raced, already thinking of contingencies, while Sungjun carefully adjusted Xing Lin in his arms.
In the next instant, a figure appeared, moving with blurring speed, arriving almost before the eye could track. A man in a sharp suit and dark shades halted in front of Sungjun, his posture formal yet urgent.
"I saw a mockingbird in the clouds," he said in a steady voice. "What is its color?"
