Chapter 1024: The Superior Battles the Three Qing Grandmasters
The golden tree's intrinsic divine power allowed it to radiate dazzling light for thousands of meters. It absorbed the force of the very cosmos and channeled it into the Superior's body.
The purple tree did likewise for the Yuqing Grandmaster.
Their fists collided. The Superior, slightly weaker, was forced back.
"Sky of Ten Suns!" the Superior shouted.
Ten golden crows flew out from the Superior's dantian, spreading their wings and cawing. However, instead of flying toward the distant sun, they landed on ten branches on his golden tree.
With a resonant hum, the ten golden crows harnessed the power of the golden tree to generate immense suction, drawing in all sunlight within millions of meters. The surging solar energy flowed into the Superior's body and strengthened him significantly.
The two cultivators clashed again. This time, the Superior barely managed to withstand the Yuqing Grandmaster's might.
"To think Xiao Nanfeng's physical body has such potential..." the Yuqing Grandmaster exclaimed in astonishment.
"Why else would I have risked exposing myself to all of you again just to seize this body? It hasn't yet undergone its primordial advancement, but that won't be far off now."
The battle intensified. The Yuqing Grandmaster's techniques were each awe-inspiring and spoke to his deep mastery. However, the Superior's techniques were no weaker.
During the fight, white light emanated from the Superior's body. He was enduring the Yuqing Grandmaster's attacks and using the residual force to refine his soul and physical body as he sought to make his primordial advancement.
The Yuqing Grandmaster noticed what he was planning. He scoffed. "This is Xiao Nanfeng's physical body, and his truesoul is deeply imprinted within it. Only his soul can achieve perfect unity with this body. How do you intend to merge with it?
The Superior swapped between his physical and spiritual bodies as he replied, "You're quite right. Only Xiao Nanfeng's soul can perfectly integrate with this body—but my current soul is imprinted with Xiao Nanfeng's truesoul."
The Yuqing Grandmaster's eyes widened in shock. "You nurtured your own soul within Xiao Nanfeng's? Using that technique?"
"So you knew about this technique of mine back then, too. That's why you deliberately avoided my overtures," the Superior replied coolly.
"Xiao Nanfeng encountered you while he was too early along in his cultivation to muster any resistance. We wouldn't have been so easily manipulated—and look at you now. Xiao Nanfeng still discovered your scheme. He escaped, didn't he? Despite all your tricks, it was in vain," the Yuqing Grandmaster said, sneering.
"How do you know he escaped?" the Superior demanded.
"If he hadn't, you would already have threatened me with him. I don't care about his life, but you'd have done it given your personality. More importantly, Dazheng's sea of fortune remains unperturbed, which means that Xiao Nanfeng is unharmed. You couldn't do anything against him," the Yuqing Grandmaster said.
"Hmph!" The Superior snorted coldly.
He was extremely frustrated. Not only had the Yuqing Grandmaster seen through him, Xiao Nanfeng was repeatedly foiling his advances in the white life hidden realm.

"Don't worry. He won't be able to escape. I'll capture him soon enough," the Superior said coldly.
The Yuqing Grandmaster narrowed his eyes. He had learned a great deal from what the Superior said.
"You can't control your world of the heart, can you?" he murmured.
"What?" The Superior narrowed his eyes.
"I understand it now—your world of the heart is still being sealed by the primordial altar! Xiao Nanfeng must be causing great destruction within it. Isn't that so?" The Yuqing Grandmaster smirked.
"Yuqing, you think too highly of yourself."
"You can't fool me. My Yuqing Yin Body was born from Body of Yin, and it shares many of its similarities. I have the purple moon illusory realm; you must have a similar world of the heart, but I've never seen you use it. It must be heavily restricted—and if Xiao Nanfeng managed to escape from your clutches, he must be within."
The Superior glowered.
"I'm very curious about your identity. How did you manage to be trapped within the primordial altar despite your overwhelming strength?"
"Guess," the Superior gritted out.
The two cultivators fought more and more fiercely for a whole day.
Suddenly, the Superior's body glowed with golden light as his strength surged. The Yuqing Grandmaster was sent flying, blood trickling from his lips.
"You've undergone your primordial advancement!" the Yuqing Grandmaster exclaimed.
"I should thank you. Without your power refining this body, who knows how long it'd have taken me? Haha!" The Superior roared in laughter.
The Yuqing Grandmaster frowned. "I only used destructive yang energy against you. How could it have helped?"
"Have you forgotten about my abilities?" The Superior smirked.
The Yuqing Grandmaster blinked—and then his eyes widened in shock. "Yin-yang conversion?"
"It's too late for regrets now. Time to settle the score for the losses you've caused me over the last ten thousand years!" the Superior declared.
With a wave of his hand, he summoned his silver moon, casting silver light in all directions. Within the vacuum of space, an endless blizzard began to form. Dark matter resonated with the silver moon's power and formed a tidal wave of frost that surged toward the Yuqing Grandmaster.
The Yuqing Grandmaster summoned his own purple moon, unleashing a purple snowstorm that clashed with the Superior's attack.
The dark matter from each moon collided violently with each other, causing the void to ripple.
The two cultivators again exchanged palm strikes at full strength.
The Superior laughed viciously. "Now that I've undergone my primordial advancement, you're done for!"
The Yuqing Grandmaster scoffed. "Did you forget what I told you? No matter how similar your soul is to Xiao Nanfeng's, you'll never achieve perfect unity with this body."
"Enough nonsense! Die!" the Superior roared.
Their palms met in a devastating impact. Yet, this time, the Yuqing Grandmaster wasn't sent flying. Instead, he firmly held his ground.
"How did you grow stronger? No—something's wrong!" the Superior cried out.
Behind the Yuqing Grandmaster, two more moons appeared, exerting immense force. One was red, and the other blue.
"You lot—Shangqing and Taiqing!" the Superior growled.
Behind the Yuqing Grandmaster, an elderly red-robed man and a middle-aged blue-robed man showed themselves. They each channeled their strength into the Yuqing Grandmaster, helping him take on the Superior.
The Taiqing Grandmaster called out, "If I'm not mistaken, you must be some important member of the Darkborn."
"The Darkborn?" The Yuqing and Shangqing Grandmasters narrowed their eyes.
It took them only a brief instant to figure out the clues that linked the Superior to the Darkborn.
"Taiqing, you're as intelligent as ever—but what can you do even if you know?"
"Finish you off, of course!"
The three Qing Grandmasters sent a beam of overwhelming force toward the Superior. Their three moons hanging in the air suppressed his silver one.
Their purple, red, and blue trees glowed with astonishing splendor, eclipsing that of the Superior's golden tree.
The Superior snarled fiercely upon being overcome by the three men. "To think that you've grown so strong—I should have killed you from the beginning."
"You're the one who should die!" the Taiqing Grandmaster roared.
"Let me strike." The Shangqing Grandmaster drew a longsword.
"Hold on," the Yuqing Grandmaster suddenly exclaimed.
The Taiqing and Shangqing Grandmasters turned to the Yuqing Grandmaster in surprise.
"Trust me: channel your strength into my body," the Yuqing Grandmaster called out.
The Taiqing and Shangqing Grandmasters raised their eyebrows. They had known each other for ten thousand years, and naturally knew that the Yuqing Grandmaster had something up his sleeve.
"Very well."
The two men infused their energy into the Yuqing Grandmaster. Twin red and blue beams of light shot into his purple moon and purple tree.
The Yuqing Grandmaster grew stronger and stronger. His body blazed with resplendent light, causing sweat to bead on the Superior's forehead.
"What are you intending to do?" The Superior suddenly sensed something amiss.
"As I said, your primordial advancement was flawed. I shall destroy it—right here, right now."
The Yuqing Grandmaster struck at the Superior with a bolt of black light mixed into his standard purple. The Superior blocked the purple beam, but not the black one.
As he was struck by the black light, the Superior's body shook. Blood sprayed forth as his silver moon and golden tree cracked. The Superior was sent flying.
"Impossible! How were you able to break my primordial body? No—you must have tainted the energy you used to attack me!" The Superior spat out a mouthful of blood.
"You're done for now!" the Yuqing Grandmaster cried out.
He flashed before the grievously wounded Superior, whose face was frozen in a snarl. "I should have known. You and Taiqing are both sly, malicious men."
"Soul-Extinguishing Palm!" the Yuqing Grandmaster cried out.
His palm, imbued with purple flames, struck the Superior's body. His purple tree crashed into the Superior's golden one, causing its branches to shatter. The ten golden crows cawed as they exploded, reforming within the Superior's dantian. The Superior's injured body shook as blood burst forth from it in ever greater quantities.
But before the Superior died, a beam of white light flashed. The Superior vanished into the light, as did his golden tree.
"Just you wait. I'll take you down once and for all!" the Superior cursed before he vanished.
The Yuqing Grandmaster recalled his purple flames and purple tree.
The Shangqing and Taiqing Grandmasters stepped forward.
"What happened?" the Taiqing Grandmaster asked.
"We've badly wounded the Superior, but it seems like he managed to escape into his world of the heart—within the primordial altar."
"Oh?" The others frowned.
"That said, I managed to leave a tracking imprint on him with my attack. I can now target his world of the heart," the Yuqing Grandmaster continued.
"Well done!" The Shangqing and Taiqing Grandmasters smiled in satisfaction.
