Water Mage in the Flame Realm-Chapter 298 - 288: Survival

In this Flame Realm, Andrew's most beloved girl was, of course, Barbara.

And the woman he feared most, or one might even say dreaded, was undoubtedly this female assassin.

Having just spent a day in bed with his beloved, part of his mind and body still immersed and unable to extricate themselves, Andrew suddenly heard the voice of his most dreaded individual, feeling as though a bucket of cold water was poured over him, experiencing an ice and fire duality.

He couldn't help but think, "She's actually in the Royal Court too? How... how can she be in the Royal Court?!"

The female assassin, like the king, was a War God level existence.

If she were also in the Royal Court, the negotiations and comparisons during the day, their side shouldn't have even had a sliver of a chance. With Catherine's assistance, she might face the king, but certainly not both the king and a female assassin of War God level!

"So this female assassin... is she afraid of exposing her own identity?"

Andrew's thoughts raced quickly, "When she was wreaking havoc with the Shield of Flowing Fire, she wore a mask to hide her identity. Now she doesn't even reveal any part of her figure! Who exactly is she? Was it her who lured Aunt Susan to the Snow Mountain and then ambushed her?"

Water Magic Power can calm the mind, and the quieter the mind, the faster the speed of thought. This has always been Andrew's advantage as a Water Magic Lord, an advantage further magnified after completing the "Water and Fire United" training with Barbara.

Andrew's thoughts spun wildly, while he shouted at maximum volume, "Barbara! Dean Charlie! Princess Catherine! Enemy attack, enemy attack!!"

Definitely can't fight them head-on, and Andrew hadn't planned on doing so.

Thinking that since the opponent hid so much, it was best to target the point they most feared: making a racket to force her to expose her tracks! This was still the rationale of the "Counterattack Technique."

"Haha, shouting for help now, it's already too late. Even if you shout at the top of your lungs, no one will hear you." The female assassin said, using lines from a sleazy villain in a movie from Andrew's past world, yet her voice was extremely pleasant, with a calm and leisurely elegance in her tone.

War God level figures indeed cannot be judged by common sense.

The king, using the identity of a Warrior, casually gathered the falling snow into a long ice and snow bridge with his words. The female assassin, also a Warrior and of War God level, had the power to alter the rules of the world amid laughter and talk.

At this moment, the air and even the space around the balcony seemed frozen.

Andrew's voice was like being trapped inside a jar, unable to get out!

But...

If one soundwave can't get through, what about two?

Or a continuous barrage of three, four, even dozens of soundwaves?

While shouting, Andrew quietly activated the unique Water Element Whole Power from his Magic Lord status, integrating it with his latest training outcome: the Water Element Whole Power transformed into the "Water Yin-Yang Fish" form, with a fish eye as a point of Barbara's Fire Power.

Though strong, the female assassin couldn't sever Andrew's connection with his territory and its people, nor completely restrict the now closely bonded synergy of Water and Fire United between Andrew and Barbara!

Such strength injected into Andrew's sound wave, combined with the "Continuous Counterattack" technique—

The first sound wave shattered upon impact with the female assassin's sealing force, like an egg hitting a rock. Yet subsequent sound waves surged, constantly impacting the sealing force, until finally... they managed to create a crack in that War God level seal!

"Enemy attack, enemy attack—!" Andrew's voice immediately converged into a fine thread, seizing the fleeting opportunity to slip through the crack.

"Oh?" the female assassin uttered another "oh," but unlike the first time, there was clear surprise in her voice.

Even with her expertise and experience, she hadn't anticipated that Andrew, just a Tier Four, could break through her frozen space seal! Even if it was casually set, she was still War God level, with a significant advantage over Andrew's tier.

Whoosh! The female assassin's strength expanded sharply, pulling back the thread of Andrew's voice that had broken through the seal.

Andrew's heart suddenly sank.

He heard the female assassin's voice again, this time not from a corner of the balcony, but right... at his ear: "That was close, that was close. Almost got overturned in the gutter. Andrew, you've grown much stronger since the last time I came to kill you."

Much like when Barbara recently hugged him from behind for a gentle whisper near his ear, the female assassin's voice now vaguely resembled Barbara's, yet was even gentler and doubly seductive.

Listening, Andrew felt not an ounce of charm.

Only indescribable horror and disgust!

"Who exactly are you?" Andrew asked through gritted teeth, but didn't turn to look, as he found his body unable to move, his entire strength locked out upon hearing the whisper in his ear.

The female assassin didn't answer Andrew's query, only gently blew into Andrew's ear.

Then Andrew's vision went black, knowing nothing anymore.

He didn't know how much time had passed, but was jolted awake by a penetrating chill, and as he reopened his eyes, his whole body involuntarily shivered again, feeling like he was inside an ice cellar, surrounded by piercingly cold air from all directions.

"What's going on? I'm... I'm not dead yet? Didn't the female assassin kill me?" Andrew rose slowly, looking around, and soon his heart sank halfway along with his body.

Before him indeed was an ice cellar-like place.

The ice chamber appeared as a hemispherical shape, with a smooth floor and arched dome made entirely of semi-transparent solid ice.

What made Andrew's heart shudder was this: within that semi-transparent solid ice, there were frozen figures of people! These people were obviously long dead, but their appearances before death were completely preserved, still lifelike, as if their eyes were wide open, staring at Andrew as he stood in the ice chamber!

"Extreme Cold Ice Prison!" A term flashed through Andrew's mind.

The Royal Court was renowned for formations and array patterns.

For example, the no-fly zone outside the Royal Court was a "formation."

The "Ice Pattern Oil Paint" of the Frost Guard and the "Eternal Frost Ice Pattern" of the Royal Court's Royal Family were also "formations."

The "Ice Prison" that Yorkshire stayed in was also a "formation."

But the ice prison that Yorkshire had stayed in was meant for detention and sealing, not to kill. The place Andrew was currently in, however, was meant to slowly freeze a person to death, finally encasing them like amber forever in the ice walls and beneath the ground. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Andrew couldn't think of any other possibility besides the "Extreme Cold Ice Prison."

He recalled having heard Barbara mention the name "Extreme Cold Ice Prison" before, but he never expected to be thrown into it one day.

"So that female assassin didn't finish me off personally but threw me here instead, still fearing her identity being exposed..." Andrew finally understood, "She's helping the Magic Guild's side, as is the King. It's quite normal for the King to lend her use of the Royal Court's Extreme Cold Ice Prison."

Moreover, he thought, "I don't know if that female assassin did anything to Barbara after knocking me out."

Andrew tried to mobilize his power, attempting to sense Barbara's whereabouts through the "Water and Fire United" connection already established between them.

He realized that this "Extreme Cold Ice Prison" had completely cut off all his connections with the outside world.

Not only the connection between him and Barbara, but also the one with Ivan, the Territory, and even "Seagull" and "Heart Net," all were separated!

The only good news was that the connection with Barbara was so close—that Andrew couldn't contact Barbara, but vaguely, he seemed to feel her presence. The female assassin must have only captured him and did nothing to Barbara.

"The problem is that my connection with the Territory is severed. As a Water Magic Lord, I can't sense the Territory's presence. For now, I can only use my own stored magic power, which means I am temporarily not a Magic Lord but an ordinary Water Mage!"

Andrew's heart filled with urgency and dread, "Is the Royal Court's formation power so monstrous? My path to becoming a Magic Lord is built around the 'Gate of Enlightenment.' Can this 'Extreme Cold Ice Prison' even suppress the 'Gate of Enlightenment'?!"

At this moment, Andrew suddenly noticed: the clothing on those frozen in the ice walls was different from current styles. Instead, each had a strange and ancient look.

"So these people have been frozen here since a very distant era?" Andrew murmured, "This 'Extreme Cold Ice Prison' might be similar to my 'Gate of Enlightenment,' a divine artifact passed down from ancient times."

Yet, the summoning sensation Andrew had felt more than once from deep within the Snow Mountain Range was astonishingly strong within this Extreme Cold Ice Prison!

So the Extreme Cold Ice Prison's location was no longer within the Royal Court but deep in the snow mountains?

Andrew stood up, his limbs already somewhat unresponsive due to the cold.

This reminded Andrew of the time at Wildfire Territory, when the Wildfire Town's leader chopped down the Water Tower Tree Shire and fought Ivan by using the Cold Ice Domain to continuously slow down Ivan's proud body technique speed.

Ice somewhat restrained water.

Now Andrew personally experienced and understood the existence of this restraining relationship.

"... Am I going to die? Will I die here like the people around me?" Negative emotions uncontrollably emerged in his mind, even the Water Spirit Technique couldn't suppress it. Especially since Andrew temporarily reverted to an ordinary Water Mage, his power weakened, and the Water Spirit Technique's effectiveness in calming emotions visibly decreased.

Despite this, Andrew didn't give up.

Instead, this situation had nothing to do with magic anymore.

It was a pure and extremely potent survival desire and hope!

He must not die here!

No matter what, he must not die here like this!

He could get out!

There must be a way to get out!!

Not only must he survive and get out of here, but he also had to return to Barbara's side, fight alongside her, defeat Capella, and win the last of the three negotiation trials. It must be possible; it can be done!

Andrew gritted his teeth tightly, constantly encouraging and motivating himself.

The cold air swirled around the Ice Prison.

In one corner of the ice prison, a figure wasn't frozen within the ice walls and ground but sat cross-legged there.

That figure's head hung low, with frost covering his entire body as if he were an ice sculpture.
