Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 323: Farewell youth
Bing Xin was once again sitting in front of the same mirror as before.
This time, she was wearing a dress that was completely different from the one that she wore previously.
This was a completely red dress that she was wearing.
It had only been a few days, but those from the Shan Family had pushed this matter and now it was the day of her wedding. They had rushed everything because they wanted to sell her off to the duke as soon as possible.
So she was wearing this red wedding dress.
Though she was wearing a beautiful wedding dress that would make any girl happy, there was no happiness in Bing Xin’s eyes.
Rather, it looked like she wanted to kill herself with the depressed look that was there.
That was because she just couldn’t find any happiness with this.
She was being forced to marry someone that she clearly didn’t want to marry and she had to accept it all like this was what she wanted. There wasn’t a single thing that she could do since her mother was being used as a bargaining chip.
Even if she turned into what she was now, her mother had taken care of her since she was young.
She had always been there for her when she needed her...until she suddenly broke one day.
So all Bing Xin could do was repay her mother for the sacrifices that she made.
She could only repay her mother for giving up her youth for her.
With a sigh, Bing Xin looked into the mirror once more and said to herself, "Farewell, my youth."
She was still a young girl, she was at the optimal time for her development.
While she wasn’t planning on staying with the duke forever, there was no doubt that she would no longer be able to progress as quickly as she did now if she gave up these years.
So in time, she would fall behind the others.
Not to mention, it wasn’t as if the young master would wait for her...
Once again, Bing Xin couldn’t help taking out the same spirit stone as before to look at. Only this time...her hand was tightly clenching on the spirit stone. She clenched it so hard that there was a crack that started to form on it, which released spiritual energy from it.
Bing Xin was shocked when she felt the spiritual energy leaking out, but she looked at it with a strange look as this spiritual energy leaked out.
In a way, this could be considered a representation of her current situation.
As she held the spirit stone, her hand once again started to close as if she was about to crush it completely.
But in the end, she let go and watched as the spiritual energy completely disappeared from the spirit stone. She just couldn’t bear to crush it with her hand.
Bing Xin just sat there watching the spirit stone until a knock came from the door.
"Young miss, they are ready for you."
The expression on Bing Xin’s face quickly changed when she heard this.
With one last emotional look, she put the drained spirit stone away and steeled her face. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Then she stood up and walked out to see everyone waiting for her. It wasn’t just the maids that came to pick her up, but also the members of the Shan Family along with the guards.
Even Family Head Shan was here to pick her up with a smile on his face. There was a clear teasing tone that was in his smile as he looked at her.
Bing Xin’s eyes filled with a trace of disdain and she coldly said, "Is there a need to be this scared of me?"
Family Head Shan didn’t miss a beat, even his expression didn’t change as he said, "Dear granddaughter, this isn’t about that. We’re just making sure that you’re safe. This is our duty as your elders, we have to send you off safely on your happy day."
The way that he said this was as if he was an elder that cared deeply for her, but...
The way that the guards were standing around made it clear that this wasn’t the case. The tense looks on their faces as if they were afraid of something showed that they were ready to fight if anything happened.
Bing Xin just looked at them all with disdain before saying, "We’ve already made a deal, so I won’t run away. As long as you keep your part of the deal, then there’s nothing for you to fear."
She had said this in a way that would put pressure on Family Head Shan, but he wasn’t disturbed at all.
He just still had the same calm look on his face as he said, "We’re not worried about anything. We’re just here to escort you as simple elders of your family."
Bing Xin knew that she wouldn’t be able to win against someone with skin as thick as Family Head Shan, so she didn’t bother replying and started moving forward.
When she did, Family Head Shan gave a nod to the guards and they all moved into position.
On the surface, it looked like they were there to protect her, but anyone with sharp eyes would be able to see it. The way that the guards were placed around Bing Xin was as if they were taking a formation.
The center of the formation was Bing Xin and they would be able to collapse on her at any moment.
So if she were to try anything...
Though if they were to fight, there was no doubt that Bing Xin would win with those strange flames of hers.
That was why the elders of the Shan Family had also come along.
Though they were clearly afraid of Bing Xin as well with how careful they were around her.
Eventually, they arrived at the carriages that had been prepared outside of the Shan Family Manor and they headed off to the duke’s manor.
