Chapter 282: Sect Guardians

Since they were powerful spirit beasts, there was no doubt that they would cause a commotion by leaving the Myriad Beast Valley.

As such, I had the Four Kings suppress their aura when we came out.

Though we still attracted a lot of attention when we came out as everyone immediately turned in our direction the moment that we came out.

Most of that was because I was sitting on Igneel’s back.

To my surprise, Igneel didn’t move that slow at all, so he was actually quite the good ride.

It was strange to be riding on the back of a tortoise like this, regardless of how big he was.

So there was a lot of attention when we came out.

Judging by how the elders of the Star Peak Sect were acting, it seemed like they hadn’t been informed of what had happened in the Myriad Beast Valley.

I could see a few of those people standing on the side and the way that they looked at us with their elders was very strange. It was as if they hadn’t expected us to survive what had happened.

I wasn’t petty enough to get revenge on those people, but that didn’t mean that the others weren’t petty.

There were those that had stayed with us to fight the Four Kings and the invader who were also coming out. These people had hostile looks towards the ones that hadn’t told the others about what happened inside the Myriad Beast Valley.

It would be enough to leave this matter to them.

After all, the ones that had run away were in the minority.

It should be fine for them to deal with these people who had abandoned the final battle.

Seeing me come out like this naturally raised a lot of questions not just for those that were watching, but also the elders of the Star Peak Sect.

But the way that they looked at me was almost as if they were used to seeing me act this way.

The way that they looked at me was almost like...the way that one would look at a troublemaker.

Not just any kind of troublemaker, but a repeat offender who kept making more and more mistakes.

Well, thinking about it from their point of view, it wasn’t as if I didn’t understand what they were thinking. It wasn’t hard to understand why they would think of me as such a troublemaker since I was a troublemaker to a certain extent.

Since they saw me as a troublemaker, then I should act as a troublemaker to the end.

I walked over to the elders and said with a smile, "I’ve brought back some sect guardians."

They looked at me like I was crazy before looking at the Four Kings.

The one that had the strongest reaction out of all of them was the Great Elder since he could feel the auras coming from the Four Kings.

They didn’t hold back at all as they were releasing these auras like they were trying to scare them.

Or rather, they were releasing their auras as if they were trying to prove themselves.

The Great Elder could tell that none of these Four Kings were weaker than him.

They might even be stronger than him since he had no idea what kind of abilities they had.

There was no doubt that it would be good for the Star Peak Sect to have these four spirit beasts as sect guardians, but there was also no doubt that this would put them more and more in debt with Lin Fan.

At the same time, he would gain more and more influence with the Star Peak Sect.

After all, they would be depending on him as the one that controlled these four spirit beasts to order them around.

But there wasn’t anything that he could do since he couldn’t stop Lin Fan from bringing these spirit beasts back in the first place. There was nothing that he could do with Lin Fan who they all considered a young master from the upper realm.

Just his guards alone were more than enough to wipe out the Star Peak Sect if he wanted.

With a sigh and a shake of the head, the Great Elder simply said, "Alright."

The other elders all looked at the Great Elder, but they didn’t say anything in the end.

The same thoughts that the Great Elder had also passed in the minds of the elders.

They knew that they couldn’t do anything in this situation, so they just accepted it.

I wasn’t surprised seeing this since I could already guess what they were thinking based on the looks on their faces.

I just thought to myself...

"I should compensate them a bit more later when I have the chance."

I wasn’t someone who was ungrateful.

I knew that I should compensate people for causing them trouble.

Not to mention that my compensation actually gave me something because it was considered a waste to compensate them.

Since they had accepted this, there was nothing left for us to do except head back to the Star Peak Sect.

But before that, I decided to give the Four Kings a treat.

I knew that they were anxious about meeting the rest of the Star Peak Sect and they had put on this act to show that they weren’t nervous, but it was hard to hide this after all.

In that case, I should give them a treat to calm them down.

After patting them on the head, I pulled out a few things that I thought were useful to them.

They were going to be sect guardians in the future, so I should make them a bit stronger if I could.

But what I didn’t expect was that the moment that the four of them ate these treats...

"They’re breaking through!"

"It’s the tribulation thunder!" 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Just how strong are these spirit beasts?"

All four of them suddenly started to break through while they were eating these treats.
