Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 272: Invader (1)
After the lynx dropped to the ground, there were pink flames that suddenly appeared around it.
I turned to see Mu Bao Bao running over here at full speed.
When she arrived, she immediately stood in between me and the lynx as if she wanted to protect me.
She didn’t even say a thing as she just stood there between me and the lynx, but I could see that there was a different expression that was on her face. It seemed to be a kind of regret that was there.
No one else moved while the lynx just laid there on the ground as they didn’t dare move in this situation.
They knew how powerful Mu Bao Bao and the lynx were from the clash just now, so they didn’t dare do anything to help. They didn’t believe that they would even be able to take a single blow from Mu Bao Bao or the lynx.
So getting caught up in this was no doubt a one way trip to the land of the dead.
No one was willing to sacrifice their lives for this.
Well, there were some that were willing to sacrifice their lives, but they didn’t move since they knew that they would only be a burden.
They thought that they had caught up, but it turned out that they still hadn’t come close to being able to help their young master.
It seemed that their efforts still weren’t enough yet.
It seemed that they still needed to work harder to stand with their young master.
After a long moment of silence, the lynx suddenly woke up.
After waking up, it looked around itself in a groggy manner as if it had no idea what was happening. Then all of a sudden, its eyes turned to look at me.
As it looked at me, it was as if this lynx was gauging me.
But then...
It suddenly revealed a happy smile and wanted to approach me, but it didn’t since there was a pink flame wall around it.
I let out a sigh of relief when I saw this.
It seemed that the lynx had been freed from the control of whatever it was that had been controlling it before. After all, the lynx hadn’t been affected by my title when it was controlled, but now it seemed like the title was affecting it.
In that case...
I patted Mu Bao Bao’s shoulder and said, "It’s fine, you can release the flame wall now."
She looked at me with a surprised look before looking like she was unhappy about this, but I just looked at her with a smile without saying anything.
In the end, Mu Bao Bao dropped the flame wall with a look on her face as if she didn’t care anymore.
Though she had that expression on her face, it seemed like she still cared as she didn’t move far away from me as I went over to the lynx.
At the same time, when the pink flame wall dropped, the lynx started running over to me.
Out of instinct, Mu Bao Bao moved in front of me and glared at the lynx which made it stop in its tracks. Only this time, the lynx didn’t seem to back down as it glared back at Mu Bao Bao standing there.
Shaking my head, I patted her on the shoulder again and shook my head with a smile.
Mu Bao Bao turned her head once more, but she still didn’t move away from me.
Though she did at least let the lynx move past her and come to my side.
When the lynx came over, I took it in my arms and started petting it with its permission.
The lynx even seemed like it was very happy to be petted by me like this.
Soft.
That was the only thing that I could think of as I petted the lynx. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Its fur was incredibly soft, much softer than I thought it would be.
This was most likely because it needed this soft fur for insulation in a cold environment, which was usually where lynx’s live.
I almost couldn’t help myself as I was petting the lynx, it was just too soft for me to stop myself.
It even reached a point where Mu Bao Bao was looking at me with a jealous look.
As well as Liu Ao Xue...though that was for a different reason.
After petting the lynx for a bit, I looked at Mu Bao Bao again.
Even though the lynx was one of the Four Kings and a powerful spirit beast, that didn’t mean that it was able to speak to humans. So I could only look to Mu Bao Bao to translate for us.
She looked like she wasn’t willing at first, but then it seemed like she changed her mind when she saw the way that I looked at her.
She even looked at me with a look like she was saying...
"I’m doing this for you."
I gave her a grateful look before turning to ask the lynx, "What happened?"
The lynx was confused at first as it didn’t seem to understand what I meant by this, but then it slowly seemed to put some things together. It was like the lynx had been missing parts of its memories and it was just slowly putting those memories back together.
After a while, the lynx finally gave a roar.
"It says that there was an invader that suddenly appeared in the Myriad Beast Valley one day. The four of them met to deal with it, but it suddenly attached its vines to them and they found that they weren’t able to do anything against it."
"Roar...roar."
It seemed like the lynx was confused about something.
Mu Bao Bao said, "It seems that it was calling it ’his majesty’ like it was a normal thing, but then it started questioning why it was calling it that in the first place."
It seemed that this invader not only changed their minds, it even changed their personalities to a certain extent.
"Congratulations to the host on finding a secret clue. The main mission will now be updated."
