Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 249: Taking all bets
The little monkey had a smug look on its face as it looked down at the tiger that was unconscious.
The way that it was stepping on the tiger’s face was as if it was taking pride in taking down the tiger itself, even though it had run away in the face of the tiger’s roar.
All of us had blank looks on our faces as we stared at the little monkey acting all smug like this.
Then I suddenly pointed at the little monkey.
"Ki!" The monkey cried out in a surprised voice.
That was because the ring that was on its head had suddenly started to shrink.
The elders had shown me how to use the ring and had registered it to me, so I was the only one that could control the size of the ring. So I was shrinking the ring on the little monkey’s forehead to punish it, just like how Tang San Zang punished Sun Wukong.
It was just that...
After the surprised cry, the monkey revealed a...bored look.
It was as if the ring squeezing its head didn’t seem to bother it at all.
I was caught off guard seeing this before deeply knitting my brows.
It seemed that my guess had been correct...
It seemed that the ring didn’t have an effect on the monkey, but I really couldn’t understand why it didn’t have an effect.
Or at least that was what it was at first until I suddenly remembered something.
When I caught the monkey as it tried to jump for the peaches, I grabbed it by the head and held it in a tight grip. That grip wasn’t light and it was enough to even shatter rocks.
It was an accident since I had forgotten to adjust my grip in my annoyance.
However, even then, it didn’t seem like the little monkey had been bothered by my vice grip. It was as if the little monkey didn’t feel a thing from the strong grip that I had applied to its head.
It was as if its head was hard as rock.
It was descended from a monkey that was born from rock, so it would only make sense that its head was as hard as rock.
"Could it be...?"
I had to personally walk up to the little monkey and grab it by the head.
The little monkey didn’t like the looks of my hand coming for it, so it had tried to dodge out of the way. However, since I had deepened my attainment with the Cloud Somersault Technique, I could see the movements of the little monkey even more clearly.
It wasn’t able to escape my grasp.
It was caught by the head and just held there dangling in the air.
For a moment, it looked like it wanted to break free just like before but...then it felt my hand clenching even harder against its skull.
There was a moment where the little monkey where the little monkey still had hope, but that moment didn’t last long as it meekly decided that it would just accept the punishment that was coming its way.
It knew that if it ran, it would just receive a greater punishment.
I could see all of this running through the little monkey’s head by the way that its shoulders suddenly drooped.
Seeing this, I said, "Good decision."
The little monkey looked back at me with hope in its eyes, but my next words crushed that hope.
"You’re still being punished."
All of the hope drained out of its eyes and was replaced with despair instead.
Taking a deep breath, the little monkey just went limp in my hand, as if it was saying...
"Boil me or grill me! Do whatever you want with me!"
Since it was telling me to do that, I had no hesitation.
...
"I want to put ten high grade spirit stones on that it’ll keep running."
"I want to put twenty high grade spirit stones on it being beaten by the tiger."
"I’ll put five on it beating the tiger."
The one that made this bet received some strange looks, but everyone else went back to bidding.
The one that the lackeys were making bets to was...me.
I was standing there taking their money and taking all bets from them.
As for what we were betting on...
Inside of a large hole in the ground was the little monkey and the tiger. The two of them were currently engaged in combat, though it was mainly the tiger chasing the little monkey around.
The little monkey didn’t seem like it dared to jump out of this hole even though it should have been easy for it.
However, it still didn’t fight the tiger as it just ran around.
From time to time, it would look up at me with an aggrieved look on its face, but I just completely ignored it as I took the bets.
This was the training that I had come up with for the little monkey.
There was a problem with its personality, so I wouldn’t let it out of the hole unless it overcame that flaw with its personality.
It was just that there was nothing that the little monkey could do other than run around since it couldn’t actually hurt the tiger.
The female lackeys and the two girls felt a bit sorry for the little monkey seeing it being chased around like this. They eventually felt sorry enough that they looked at me as if they were asking for mercy for the little monkey.
I gave a sigh when I saw this, but I still didn’t let the little monkey out.
If I were to let it out just because it acted this way, then it would be even more trouble in the end.
"Speed is power too." I suddenly said out loud.
The little monkey was caught off guard, which meant that the tiger was able to chomp down on its butt.
It wasn’t hurt at all by this, but it was angered.
The little monkey jumped back much faster than the tiger could respond before suddenly jumping forward again.
Using all of its speed, it swung its stick down on the tiger’s head.
