Chapter 153: This is my motto

"Oh, I was wondering who it was looking all lonely like that, but it turned out to be the whelp from the Shooting Star Sect." Kong Jing had a confident look on his face when he came over.

It was most likely because he could see that his plot had worked and I had been isolated from everyone else.

This made him feel much more confident in doing what he was planning to do.

But of course, I didn’t react at all to this.

Instead, I just looked at him with a smile on my face and said, "Brother Kong, it really is kind of you to come and talk to a lonely person like me. Did you get enough to eat this morning? If not, do you want me to prepare something for you?"

Kong Jing couldn’t help almost tripping when he heard this.

But when he stopped himself, he used a bit too much strength and crushed the tile that was under his foot.

Everyone looked at him with a strange look since they couldn’t understand why Kong Jing would react like that to these words.

When he felt everyone staring at him like this, Kong Jing couldn’t help feeling a bit embarrassed.

He had unconsciously reacted and it had made a fool of him, which only served to anger him even more. However, Kong Jing forced himself to keep a calm look on his face since he knew that showing any signs of anger would just be playing into the enemy’s hands.

So Kong Jing just gave a snort before saying, "It seems like you have quite the glib tongue, but now everyone knows just what kind of person you are. So how about it, do you think that you’ll be able to accomplish anything here?"

I just gave a shrug before saying, "My goal was never to accomplish anything here. I’m just here for some experience."

Kong Jing was taken aback when he heard this. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

He looked at me as if he was trying to figure out if I was being serious or not, but there was nothing for me to hide.

After all, the only reason that I was even here was because the system told me to come. It wasn’t as if I had any goals in this tournament, so there was nothing that he could say to hurt me.

"You, you, you! You really are nothing more than a prodigal!" Kong Jing pointed his finger at me as he said this.

I just said with another shrug, "That’s right, I’m just a prodigal. It’s my job to waste my money."

Kong Jing’s face twisted when he heard this as he didn’t know what to say.

This was his first time experiencing something like this.

Even the biggest prodigal young masters that he met would never admit something like this straight to his face. After all, they would be too embarrassed to admit something like this.

But that was only because Kong Jing had never met a true prodigal like Lin Fan before.

He was someone who took pride in being called a prodigal.

As Kong Jing was stuck on what to say next, the others around all looked at Lin Fan with a strange look. After all, they had never seen a prodigal like him either before.

There were some that didn’t look at him with bad intentions, just as there were those that looked at him like they thought he was nothing more than trash.

Even though everyone was looking at me like this, I didn’t feel anything.

This was something that I had experienced in my previous life as well, so it wasn’t something that I was unfamiliar with.

I knew that not everyone would be able to understand my way of life and I didn’t expect them to.

There were many different people in this world and they had many different goals.

Mine was just to be the biggest prodigal that I could.

After a long silence, Kong Jing’s face slowly untwisted and he revealed a calm look again.

Instead of arguing with what I had just said, he just said in a dismissive voice, "It was my fault for thinking too much. There’s no way that a mere prodigal like you would be able to accomplish anything in life. There’s no point in talking to someone like you."

As he said this, he turned to leave as if he was done with me.

However, I deeply knitted my brows when he said this.

Those words just now had touched my bottom line after all.

"Mere prodigal?" I said in a dark tone.

When Kong Jing heard this, he couldn’t help but stop and turn around with a strange look. That was because when he heard those words, there was this strange chill that he didn’t understand that ran down his spine.

Someone like him shouldn’t be afraid of the words of a prodigal, but he couldn’t stop that chill from running down his spine when he heard this.

He had been planning to say something after turning around as if he wanted to redeem himself, but I didn’t give him that chance.

"You think that a prodigal is easy to be? The way of the prodigal is far beyond the comprehension of a fool like you." I said in a sharp tone.

Kong Jing was once again taken aback when he heard this, but this time he was able to compose himself to say, "A prodigal is hard to be? In what world..."

"You are a fool if you think that being a prodigal is easy. Being a prodigal takes the skills of a prodigal, it’s not just anyone that can waste money." Then after a pause, I said in a proud voice, "I am the one that rises above all other prodigals, the super prodigal."

Kong Jing didn’t know how to respond to this.

That didn’t matter as I said, "My parents are skilled at making money, but not spending money. As their son, I naturally have a duty to help them spend their money. That is my motto as a prodigal!"

The way that I said this was certainly powerful, but...

Everyone couldn’t help revealing strange looks when they heard what I had said.

The words that I had used certainly couldn’t be considered powerful.

They were just strange.
